Chapter 586: Unique

As the vampire’s body vanished into the Mirror Dimension, Anthony ascended into the air with a calming ease, his movements smooth and deliberate. Then, in a sudden burst of speed, he shot forward into the sky, heading towards his teammates with a calm smile playing across his lips.

He had successfully tested the newly advanced Sense Dome and Infinity, and had even experimented with the mysterious Authority Of Severance.

Although he hadn’t yet done anything drastic, such as cutting off the vampire’s cultivation entirely, Anthony was confident that his control would eventually reach such a level.

The question, however, was when? That, even he did not know.

After all, he was certain that even those who possessed an Authority like the Authority Of Severance wouldn’t typically attain this level of mastery in such a short amount of time. To be more precise, it had taken him only nine years and seven months, less than a decade.

As he reached the aircraft, Anthony saw his teammates floating just above it. He instantly noticed that they were visibly tense, their guards raised high, their eyes scanning the surroundings as though they anticipated an incoming ambush.

Anthony merely chuckled to himself. He knew that no one else was coming. Still, he appreciated their vigilance; it was good that they were remaining alert to the possibility of sneak attacks.

“Anthony, what happened? Are you hurt?” Vega asked as she darted forward, her figure appearing before Anthony in an instant. She embraced him tightly, concern etched into every fiber of her being.

Anthony smiled faintly and replied, “I’m fine. Just a pest flapping his mouth where it shouldn’t have.”

Just as Dale was about to speak, Anthony interrupted him, his tone light yet firm. “Let’s head inside first.”

The team nodded wordlessly, acknowledging Anthony’s instruction. In response, Celement’s Darkness Element swirled beneath his feet, expanding outward in an elegant ripple before enveloping everyone. The shadowy mass swallowed the group, allowing them to phase through the ceiling of the aircraft with ease.

Anthony moved to sit and exhaled slowly, a soft sigh escaping his lips. Vega took her seat to his right, while Spectre quietly sat to his left, his presence calm and composed.

“Anthony,” Dale began with a frown, his voice low, “did the military send that guy to kill us?”

Anthony’s gaze slowly turned toward Dale, momentarily speechless. He silently questioned how Dale could arrive at such a wild and unfounded conclusion.

But at the same time, he understood Dale’s reasoning. After all, the vampire had been wearing the official uniform of a military Warlord ranked personnel. Still, it seemed Dale had forgotten something crucial, Anthony’s background.

Would the military truly dare send someone to assassinate him, when he had not one, but three Supreme Monarchs standing behind him?

Before Anthony could respond, Seraphim cut in, “Dale, I told you it’s more complicated than that. Have you forgotten? Anthony’s mother is literally the Supreme Monarch of our military base.”

“But—” Dale began, ready to justify his thoughts.

“That’s enough,” Anthony said sharply, cutting him off.

He sighed and continued in a more subdued tone. “This is a personal matter between me and the vampire. He wasn’t here for any of you, just me. You were all merely bystanders. He decided to kill everyone simply because you happened to be present.”

The space fell into a heavy silence after Anthony’s words. They had assumed the vampire had come for all of them. How could they have known they were mere extras, an afterthought in a far more personal conflict?

“Can you tell us what the reason is?” Kingsley asked. He was seated with one leg crossed over the other, his head resting lazily against his palm, while his other hand sat motionless on his lap.

“Even if you can’t give us the full picture due to personal reasons,” Kingsley continued, “at least give us a few words. Something, if possible.”

Anthony fell into quiet contemplation, debating whether or not he should tell them the truth about what had occurred during his meeting with the League of Supremes.

After a moment of thought, he made his decision. There was no point in hiding anything. There were no huge secrets lurking beneath the surface, at least not in this case.

As for preserving the reputation of the Second Supreme Monarch? Perhaps Anthony might consider that in the Second Supreme Monarch’s next life.

In this one? Absolutely not.

He began from the very beginning, how he had met the Supreme Monarchs. He walked them through the events of the meeting, then described how the First Supreme Monarch had requested that Anthony become his personal disciple.

From there, Anthony transitioned into recounting his clash with the Second Supreme Monarch. He detailed how the old vampire had sought his blood, and how Anthony had told him to withstand a single attack, an attack that had ultimately cost the Supreme Monarch an entire arm.

Every syllable, every word that left Anthony’s lips struck his team like thunder. They were utterly stunned, rendered speechless by the gravity of what they were hearing.

Offered the position of disciple by the First Supreme Monarch.

Severed the arm of the Second Supreme Monarch.

It was as though reality itself had suddenly become a lie. Their senses struggled to reconcile the truth they were hearing with the reverence they held for the Supreme Monarchs.

To them, Supreme Monarchs were akin to gods, beings capable of shattering planets, of annihilating constellations with a flick of their wrist. And yet Anthony, a nineteen year old human boy, had managed to injure one.

“Did you accept the offer? Did you become the First Supreme Monarch’s disciple?” Kingsley asked, visibly intrigued. He had always held the Supreme Monarchs in the highest regard due to their immense power.

“Why would I become the disciple of someone weaker than my parents?” Anthony replied casually, dismissing the First Supreme Monarch entirely, as if the matter were trivial.

Dale and the others looked at Anthony in quiet amazement.

Although none of them would openly state that Anthony’s parents were stronger than the First Supreme Monarch, mainly because they didn’t know what levels of power each individual possessed, only Anthony could speak with such confidence.

The First Supreme Monarch was regarded as the absolute ruler of the military, a figure of unmatched authority. And yet Anthony had disregarded him completely.

“Besides,” Anthony continued with a shrug, “before someone offers to be my master, shouldn’t they at least be stronger than I am when they were my age?”

At this point, the team couldn’t help but feel that Anthony was simply boasting. After all, who else could accomplish what Anthony had done at just nineteen years of age? Even though Vega, Celement, Spectre, and the rest of Anthony’s subordinates were undeniably overpowered in their own right, they were still miles behind him.

They sat there in collective silence, struck not by jealousy, but by the overwhelming gap between themselves and the boy who sat in front of them. Anthony wasn’t just special, he was terrifyingly unique.
