Nexus Ascension: My Comprehension Defies the Heaven

Chapter 11: Golden Ratio?

Sector 7, Housing Zone.

After a short walk, Grey finally reached home. By now, it was already 4 p.m.

”I’m home,” Grey said out of habit as he stepped into the living room.

The only person there was his sister, Alissa. The moment she saw him, she immediately shifted her gaze away.

With a cold expression, she continued flipping through the TV channels.

Grey didn’t mind it. He was already used to her antics.

A moment later, her pleasant yet icy voice drifted over.

”Dad won’t be coming home tonight. I already made dinner for the two of us.”

”Is that so?” Grey nodded casually.

At the same time, he noticed her eyes flickering toward his spatial ring. It was indeed too eye-catching for even his indifferent sister to ignore.

But of course, being who she was, she didn’t bother asking anything. Grey knew she would eventually find out once Richard questioned him about it anyway.

”Come to the dining hall at 8 p.m. sharp. If you’re late, you won’t get dinner,” Alissa added, her gaze still cold.

”Alright,” Grey replied lightly. Just then, his ability was activated.

[From seeing a True Dragon’s breathing pattern, you’ve gained insight into ’True Origin Breathing Technique’]

After he gained insight, he didn’t linger around and went back into his room.

While his sister did say that she didn’t consider him family, she still cared enough to make him a portion of dinner too. Grey knew she was a kind girl at heart, but circumstances had led to her being completely cold toward him.

”And the only person to blame is the previous owner of this body.” Grey shook his head.

Afterward, Grey took a quick shower. After all, he had just come back from the training zone. Once freshened up, he immediately took out the Cosmic Conversion diagram and began reading it.

The scroll itself only contained two pages—one page showing the diagram, and the second explaining each pattern within it.

Combining them together would turn it into a medium through which cosmic energy could flow.

As soon as he finished reading the scroll, his ability was activated and images flashed within his mind.

Buzz!

[From reading and understanding the ’Cosmic Energy Conversion Formation Diagram’ you’ve comprehended the ’Cosmic Energy Golden Ratio Conversion Diagram’]

[From comprehending the ’Cosmic Energy Golden Ratio Conversion Diagram’ you’ve gained insight into the workings of formations.]

”Golden Ratio?” Grey was slightly surprised.

As usual, after comprehending the base technique, he had managed to deduce an even stronger one—and this time, the diagram itself left him astonished.

The Golden Ratio was a principle of perfect balance, a natural law believed to govern almost everything in existence.

When comparing the two formations, the difference was obvious. The base diagram allowed cosmic energy to flow but leaked nearly twenty percent during conversion. In contrast, the Golden Ratio version he had just deduced refined the process to absolute perfection—boasting a flawless 100% conversion rate without a single thread of energy wasted.

Not only that, the new diagram was far more flexible and possessed a deeper foundation. If the original diagram was like a crude prototype, haphazardly assembled from mismatched blocks in the hope it would function, then this enhanced version was the finished product—stable, efficient, and precise, its structure a hundred times superior.

In short, Grey had achieved what no scientist or Evolver had managed in the past five centuries since the cosmic energy conversion formation was first introduced. He had turned it into a far more advanced, flawless, and efficient version—a true scientific breakthrough born from his comprehension.

”If those people of the old era had my ability, then maybe they would’ve already dealt with the Corruption Fields by now.” Grey thought about it, and indeed, with his heaven-defying comprehension it wouldn’t take him long before he deduced a way to eliminate the disaster from Blue Star completely.

Every day, millions across the world suffered and even died from the Corruption which condensed out of nowhere. And he wasn’t safe from it either.

Aside from building himself a perfect evolutionary path, he also wanted to eliminate the Corruption Fields from this world completely.

When millions are suffering, and if he could lend a helping hand, why wouldn’t he?

”I’ll research the Corruption Fields once I officially become an Evolver.” Grey nodded. He promised himself that he would do it once he created his path and became an Evolver.

With that aside, Grey stood up from his chair and shuffled through his shelf, which contained lots of items—including school items and much more.

What he was looking for was a giant chart paper, big enough to draw the entire newly forged Cosmic Energy Conversion Formation on top of it.

Sure enough, he found one that matched his description, put it down on the ground, and with a pen, began drawing.

Ten whole minutes passed, and he soon finished the main frame of the diagram. Now he just needed to add a dot for it to work.

At the same time, while drawing, a thought emerged in his mind.

”I should find a way to make this diagram smaller in size. That way, I can have a bunch of them around and utilize them together when I’m breaking through.”

And surprisingly enough, as soon as he said that, his mind buzzed and his ability was activated.

His mind kept replaying him drawing the huge diagram on the chart, and eventually insights emerged. He was hit with multiple realizations and soon deduced a way to make a miniature version.

[You’ve comprehended the ’Golden Ratio Cosmic Energy Conversion Miniature Diagram’]

Seeing this, Grey was speechless.

He had actually managed to deduce it.

His comprehension truly was heaven-defying.

Now, he didn’t have to worry about the lack of energy when breaking through. As long as he wasn’t inside an area isolated from the outside world, like a Corruption Field, he could use the world’s energy to make up for what he needed.

Then, Grey shook his thoughts away and finally added the final touch to the diagram. It was now time to see cosmic energy’s flow and specific pattern.

Buzz!

As soon as he added the last bit in, the diagram spun to life. A buzzing sound rang out as the air above it visibly distorted, like reality itself was warping. Then, lines of blue energy started forming above it in real time.

Seeing this, Grey immediately activated his True Origin Insight.
