Nine Dragons Saint Ancestor

”This kid is tricky; better to be cautious!”

Yue Qi, although he looked down upon the worn wooden sword, became extremely cautious due to Yun Xiao’s performance. Even if he didn’t believe that the wooden sword’s tip could injure him, he didn’t want to take the risk.

Swoosh!

Yue Qi made a split-second decision, his thoughts whirling through his mind, his palm turned over and gently bent, shifting direction, striking for the blade of the wooden sword.

In fact, ever since Yun Xiao acquired the wooden sword, even the edge of the blade didn’t seem sharp at all; there was no significant difference between the blade’s edge and face. Anyone who laid eyes on it would not believe that the sword was capable of cutting anything.

However, Yue Qi’s decision, which he presumed cautious, still underestimated this ”divine weapon.” This wooden sword, which could be considered a supreme treasure in the Nine-layered Dragon Cloud or even higher planes, spelled an imminent doom for him.

”Let go!”

As his palm was about to hit the blade of the wooden sword, to boost the force, Yue Qi shouted loudly. In his view, an old wooden sword would definitely break on impact, and even if it was made of a harder material, under such force, Yun Xiao would absolutely not be able to hold onto it.

Crack!

In the silent Arena Hall, as Yue Qi’s shout still echoed, the next moment, everyone’s eyes were left with nothing but shock, or more accurately... horror!

”Did I just see Brother Yue Qi’s hand... am I seeing things?”

An incredulous murmur finally sounded, prompting everyone to snap back to reality. In their line of sight, something detached from Yue Qi’s right palm and was falling toward the ground of the arena.

”You saw correctly, Brother Yue Qi’s right half-palm... was sliced off by that wooden sword’s blade edge!”

Another gasp rose, as if the voice’s owner, facing this reality, still couldn’t believe it, but the object that had fallen onto the hard ground of the arena was clearly visible for all to see.

”How is that possible? What... exactly is that thing?”

As opposed to these indifferent Outer and Inner Sect Disciples, Second Elder Fu Du from the northern seats leapt up, voice laden with deep shock, not knowing how many times he had done so by now.

This time, standing up with Fu Du were many elders and the heads of both great sects. They didn’t answer Fu Du’s question but all gazed intently at the shabby-dressed youth on the arena or, perhaps, the worn wooden sword in his hand.

The wooden sword remained unremarkable, but now, no one regarded it as just an ordinary wooden sword anymore. Could an item that sliced off half of Yue Qi’s palm with its blade edge be ordinary?

On the arena, ignoring the drastic change in Yue Qi’s expression, Yun Xiao remained expressionless. Right after the Dragon Taming Sword’s blade edge had cut off the latter’s half-palm, his hand did not pause; a black light flashed, and the wooden sword’s body lightly tapped on Yue Qi’s right shoulder.

Crack!

A familiar sound rang out; all eyes from the Jade Pot Sect’s cultivators clearly saw as if slicing through a piece of fragile tofu, Yue Qi’s right arm silently detached from his shoulder and fell to the ground of the arena.

One sword, half a palm sheared off; another sword, an entire right arm severed from the body!

The whole Arena Hall fell into stunned silence, as if haunted by the miraculous wooden sword, and many recalled the words Yun Xiao had spoken, feeling their faces burn with embarrassment.

Because at that time, no one believed that a wooden sword, so shabby it could be snapped by hand, was actually a divine weapon of such terror.

It was as though whatever it touched simply separated from the body; staring at the wooden sword that hadn’t even been stained with a speck of blood, at this moment, no one saw it as just ordinary anymore.

”Ah! My hand... my... hand!”

Moments later, a heart-wrenching cry echoed from the arena. Naturally, it was from Yue Qi. From heaven to hell, it had only been an instant, or rather... the space between two sword strikes.

Just a few breaths before, Yue Qi had forcefully activated the second layer of Demon Seal Poison Body, filled with pride and ready to crush Yun Xiao; a few breaths after, his palm was shorn, his right arm dismembered, an ordeal he probably never envisioned.

Forcefully activating the second layer of Demon Seal Poison Body meant that as long as Yue Qi worked harder in his future cultivation, with the help of his teacher’s Poison Meridian Skill, it wasn’t impossible for him to restore his cultivation foundation.

But now, having lost an arm, even if he could still cultivate, his combat power would inevitably be greatly diminished. At the very least, his position as the Jade Pot Sect’s top talent was no longer secure.

Even the spot at the Countries Hidden Dragon Conference that was all but guaranteed to him might be lost due to the loss of an arm. After all, the vast Jade Pot Sect would not allow a disabled person to represent the sect at the Hidden Dragon Conference.

It could be said that Yun Xiao’s two sword strikes had sent Yue Qi plummeting from the clouds straight into the abyss, slashing a prodigy into a waste. From that point onwards, the name of the Jade Pot Sect’s genius, Yue Qi, would be only a legend.

Although there are some holy medicines on the Nine Dragons Continent that can regenerate severed limbs, such things are definitely not to be found on the Hidden Dragon Continent. Even if there were, given Yue Qi’s family background, he probably couldn’t afford them.

”Yun Xiao, I’m going to kill you!”

In his fury, Yue Qi seemed to forget his own disability, roaring loudly as he charged toward Yun Xiao. At that moment, the pain from his amputated arm appeared to vanish.

Yue Qi knew exactly who was responsible for all this. Even if he would become a cripple later, he wanted to drag down the person who did this to him.

But it seemed Yue Qi had forgotten that with his right arm severed, his strength had greatly diminished. Even his Demon Seal Poison Body dissipated at the moment his arm was cut off. Without the need for the Dragon Taming Sword, Yun Xiao could easily handle him.

Bang!

Yun Xiao shot out a foot, kicking accurately on Yue Qi’s abdomen, sending the Poison Vein genius arching backward like a shrimp and flying over ten zhang away, crashing to the ground, unable to get up again.

”Just like that... he won?”

Watching this scene, many people hadn’t quite recovered from the shock. Wasn’t Yue Qi just now displaying divine might, pressing Yun Xiao with no chance to fight back? How did the situation reverse in an instant?

Indeed, the situation was just so. Yue Qi activated the second level of his Demon Seal Poison Body, nearly knocking Yun Xiao off the arena. However, the latter only needed to draw out a wooden sword to turn defeat into victory in two strokes.

Looking at Yue Qi’s miserable state, everyone still found it unbelievable that the number one talent of the Jade Pot Sect, who had defeated Mo Qing, could possibly lose to a youngster who had only joined the sect for just over a year?

”I knew it, how could Brother Yun Xiao lose?”

Amidst the silence of the great hall, a voice rang out. It was Ling Wan, who had the utmost confidence in Yun Xiao. Even he didn’t realize that he had broken out in a cold sweat just now.

”Ling Wan, what is the name of that sword in his hand? What rank of weapon is it?”

Mo Qing, sitting closest to Ling Wan, finally couldn’t help but ask, but upon hearing this, she saw the little fatty touch his head in confusion, looking somewhat embarrassed.

”This... I’m not too clear about it either!”

Nobody had mentioned Yun Xiao obtaining the Dragon Taming Sword, so Ling Wan did not know and could only tell the truth. However, this made Mo Qing even more curious about the weapon in Yun Xiao’s hand.

Compared to Ling Wan and Mo Qing who had relations with Yun Xiao, the thoughts of other young talents were much more complex, especially in certain quarters.

Zhao Ningshu, Cao Luo, and others who had past grievances with Yun Xiao were all hanging their heads low, not daring to let out a breath. Yun Xiao had now become someone they could no longer contend with.

Even the Family Heads of these two great families, who had once oppressed Yun Xiao to the point of suffocation, probably were no longer a match for the youngster now. How could Zhao and Cao muster the courage to compete with him again?

In one corner, medical pulse genius Xue Gong was trembling slightly; he had initially thought he was just caught off-guard by Yun Xiao taking advantage of a loophole, not until after this battle did he realize the newcomer of just over a year had already outstripped him.

On another side, Bi Luo, who had been miserably handled by Yun Xiao the day before, had eyes filled with resentment. Initially thinking his senior brother would avenge him, he never expected Yue Qi’s fate to turn out not much different from his own.

Whoosh!

Just as the inner and outer disciples were deep in thought, an elder figure in a green robe suddenly appeared on the arena. When the crowd focused their gaze, it turned out to be none other than the Second Elder Fu Du.

”Tea... teacher, cough cough...”

Yue Qi struggled to get up, seeing his teacher as if grasping a lifeline. But after uttering just two words, he couldn’t help but spit out a mouthful of blood, splashing Elder Fu Du’s front with crimson.

”Yun Xiao, we are all fellow sect brothers, your methods are too vicious!”

Without examining Yue Qi’s severe internal injuries, Elder Fu Du only saw the blood gushing out from the severed limb and knew that his most proud disciple was now ruined. He furiously glared at someone and shouted.

Speaking of Elder Fu Du, he really had his grievances in this Spiritual Chick Battle List. His most beloved third disciple Yin Huan was slapped to death by Yun Xiao; his second disciple Bi Luo lost all his cultivation under Yun Xiao’s deadly poison.

Now, his most valued eldest disciple Yue Qi, whom he considered his successor, had his arm cut off by Yun Xiao, ensuring that his name as a genius would never be the same. How could he not be furious?

A person like Elder Fu Du never looked for reasons within himself. In this moment, he clearly forgot how he and his disciples treated Yun Xiao. Encountering today’s calamity, it could only be said to be a case of getting what they deserved by fate.

What goes around, comes around. Retribution is unavoidable!
