Inheriting A Divine Cultivation Clan At The Start, All My Juniors Are Empresses

Yuchi went to the commerce guild with a simple idea in mind, following his elder brother’s intention. The person they’re meeting is supposedly a significant figure. If this important person wanted to talk business cooperation, wouldn’t his elder brother, as the acting president, be able to handle it? This matter must be quite important then.

Coincidentally, he had some free time these days, so he thought he might as well take a look. But the moment he saw the other party, he immediately understood. The other’s smug demeanor showed clearly that they weren’t here to discuss any cooperation, but were merely putting on an act, probably about to chatter on endlessly about something again.

And indeed, the situation was exactly as Yuchi expected. The person sat in the conference room, with a teacup in one hand and two Jade Balls in the other, which they spun around, producing a clinking sound. During this time, they muttered a lot of things complacently. Yuchi understood that what this guy wanted to express included these points.

”First, the commerce guild’s current progress is quite good, but that’s because we haven’t been attacking you from behind. Meaning, the reason you’ve reached this point today is entirely due to our attitude.”

”Second, since the commerce guild has developed so well, we naturally want to enter the guild directly as partners. We come with sincerity, putting ten thousand taels of silver into your guild, without interfering in its affairs. You just need to give us dividends every year.”

”Third, I advise your guild to consider our proposition seriously. We know the surrounding mountain roads very well. If you really choose not to cooperate with us, then in the future, you need to be careful that nothing gets snatched by wolves, tigers, or leopards midway!”

Understood.

This guy’s point could be summed up in one sentence: We could crush your commerce guild with one hand. The reason we haven’t crushed you is that we’re giving you a chance, so you better seize it well. Hence, we are giving you ten thousand, and from now on, you give us dividends every year.

There was so much absurdity.

”This guy thinks he can just give us ten thousand, do nothing, and then come to collect dividends? Was this bright idea concocted from one’s rear end? Damn it, in the past life, stocks may have been like that, but whether profit or loss, they shared it equally. Putting it in the bank is just minor interest, and this guy directly demands a twenty percent profit?”

”Forcing the silver into the guild and then the guild has to give them twenty thousand taels a year? Hahaha, whether the guild loses or earns, it’s twenty thousand taels a year anyway?”

”This is not ’capital shedding tears’; this is ’sorrow shedding tears!’”

Looking at the smug guy in front of him, Yuchi already mentally pegged his identity: probably the bandit leader recently active in the wilderness. Haha, interesting.

He lightly beckoned with his finger at his ear, and one of the guild’s responsible persons immediately leaned over. After Yuchi quietly spoke a couple of sentences to him, the responsible person nodded and went out to handle the matter.

Yuchi, looking at the fellow in front of him, spoke directly: ”So it was you causing trouble for the commerce guild before, wasn’t it? Which sect supports you from behind?”

This was indeed a very straightforward question, directly inquiring about the other’s origins. Of course, such matters were too normal. If they were just ordinary mountain ruffians, the type who impulsively robbed by the roadside—nine out of ten would be dead by now.

The ones left usually have backing, likely outer disciples of some sect, associating with local outlaw forces to collect tolls or the like.

With this perspective, those river bandits caught by the Twelve Linked Huts before were probably under these people’s command.

Upon hearing Yuchi’s question, the other person’s expression was cold, looking at Yuchi with an even more sinister demeanor:

”I don’t know why you, President Yuchi, are asking us these questions. Now it’s all about a single issue: do you agree or not? Just give a straightforward answer. If you agree, I’ll put the ten thousand taels of silver on this table immediately. If not, I’ll turn around and leave at once!”

”Just take care about your business channels in the future. Without our protection, the road ahead might be rather rough for you.”

This was an obvious threat.

As for Yuchi, he wore an odd smile, having noticed the composed Bu Huoran standing behind him like a genteel woman.

Bu Huoran remained silent, for he’d grown accustomed to such things. Back when the Celestial Craft Workshop operated, they often encountered such situations: when they were investing, others came to collect money; when making a profit, others still came to collect money. In any case, these people were just after a share.

The commerce guild and these bandits were like stores in a small town with poor security, coexisting with local bullies and paying protection fees.

”Sister Bu, if it were you, what would you do?” Yuchi turned his head and asked with a smile.
