Chapter 2463: Chapter 2463: Tianyin City Rankings

Like ordinary forces, almost all engage in businesses that can earn resources. Regardless of the size or strength of the force itself, they will more or less have some fixed industries in hand.

However, Tianyin Building can be said to have no fixed industries at all. If anything, they only have institutional buildings in various places. Tianyin Building has many branches in Kunling Heaven and also has branches in the Thunder Domain. Nevertheless, Tianyin Building has no cities of its own, and each of its branches is situated within cities controlled by other forces.

However, the speed at which Tianyin Building earns resources is equally astonishing. They mainly profit through selling intelligence. In this world, if Tianyin Building cannot obtain certain intelligence information, then no other force can likely get it either.

Besides selling intelligence, another most noticeable aspect of Tianyin Building is its rankings. On the surface, Tianyin has two ranking lists: one is the power rankings, and the other is the city rankings. These lists are public, known by everyone in the world. However, Tianyin Building also has a hidden ranking list, the information of which is not publicly disclosed. To view this ranking list, one must pay a fee to Tianyin Building. This hidden list is the cultivator strength ranking, and it only includes names of those in the Immortal Venerable Realm.

The Immortals who can enter this ranking can be said to be the strongest Immortals in the entire Heavenly Domain, for it only includes a hundred slots. If a strong figure like Fire Cloud Immortal Venerable from Faro Heaven came to Kunling Heaven, their ranking would surely be in the rear, likely between eighty and a hundred. It goes to show how difficult it is to enter the Immortal ranking of Tianyin Building.

”This is a good thing! If we can enter the city rankings of Tianyin Building, it’ll be beneficial for the reputation enhancement of Hongmeng City.” Jing Yan nodded subconsciously as he heard what Bai Han said.

The credibility of Tianyin Building is extremely high. The cities that enter the Tianyin Building city rankings all have considerable fame within the Heavenly Domain. Ordinary small cities have no opportunity to enter this list.

Although Jing Yan had not been in Kunling Heaven for long, he was already well acquainted with the name Tianyin Building.

If Hongmeng City can enter the Tianyin Building city rankings, it indeed brings great benefits for the city’s prestige, allowing more cultivators to know of Hongmeng City’s existence.

”Yes, this matter is really good, so Supervisor Ru Li has been personally accompanying the personnel from the Thunder Domain branch of Tianyin Building these past days. City Lord, whether Hongmeng City can be selected into the Tianyin Building city rankings is still uncertain. The people from the branch came this time to examine all aspects of Hongmeng City. It’s not clear if the conditions can meet Tianyin Building’s standards.” Bai Han continued.

”You notify Ru Li to come to the City Lord Mansion. I want to ask him about the specifics of this matter,” Jing Yan pondered and said.

”Okay, I’ll transmit the message to him now.” Bai Han nodded.

At this time, Ru Li happened to be idle. After receiving the message from Chief Bai Han, he promptly arrived at the City Lord Mansion.

”City Lord.” Ru Li greeted Jing Yan.

”Hmm, no need for formalities. Ru Li, I heard people from Tianyin Building have arrived?” Jing Yan nodded to Ru Li and directly asked.

Ru Li said, ”They’ve been here for over ten days. When they first arrived, I came to the City Lord Mansion to inform the Grand Steward of this. These days, I’ve been accompanying the few people, personally led by Wuling Building Master from the Thunder Domain branch of Tianyin Building.”

”Whether Hongmeng City can be selected into the Tianyin Building city rankings is quite crucial for us. You’re doing well. Make sure to treat them well,” Jing Yan said with a smile.

”By the way, what’s their attitude now?” Jing Yan turned to ask.

According to Ru Li, the assessment has been going on for several days now; there should be some attitude manifesting by now?

”This...” Ru Li frowned.

Seeing Ru Li’s expression seemed off, Jing Yan also frowned and asked, ”Are they dissatisfied with Hongmeng City’s conditions? Does Hongmeng City fail to meet the requirements?”

Ru Li looked at Jing Yan and then at Chief Bai Han, and then he let out a light sigh.

He slowly said, ”It’s not that the conditions can’t be met; it’s just... maybe not exceptionally excellent either. After all, Hongmeng City is a new city, established for only over thirty years. If it were an ordinary city, it certainly couldn’t be selected into the Tianyin Building city rankings, but our Pill Tower adds a lot of credit. In the ranking list of Tianyin Building’s city rankings, many cities’ Pill Towers are not as good as our Hongmeng Pill Tower.”

”What do they mean then?” Jing Yan asked.

”City Lord, Wuling Building Master hasn’t explicitly said anything, but I... I think he wants benefits.” Ru Li revealed a bitter smile.

Ru Li, who was previously responsible for managing various relationships in a robber organization, has excellent communication skills and is adept at reading people’s thoughts. Truth be told, he almost figured out Wuling Building Master’s idea two to three days ago.

”Wants benefits?” Jing Yan was somewhat surprised too.

”Yes, in my opinion, they most likely want some benefits. If he can be satisfied, then Hongmeng City being selected into the Tianyin Building city rankings won’t be a big issue?” Ru Li nodded.

Bai Han chuckled, his eyes flickering as he said, ”City Lord, I’ve also heard about Wuling Building Master. His reputation is indeed somewhat poor. I reckon Hongmeng City’s conditions just meet the threshold for inclusion. His loosening hands can let Hongmeng City be selected, but tightening them means Hongmeng City might be brushed off. Hence, he uses this to extract some benefits from us.”

”Yes, yes, Chief Manager is completely right.” Ru Li nodded repeatedly.

”This is also easy to handle. If he wants benefits, just give him benefits. Ru Li, you handle this matter. Three million or five million Black Crystal Stones, if they’ll work, just give them to him.” Jing Yan waved his hand.

Three to five million Black Crystal Stones is not a small amount. However, if it can let Hongmeng City quickly enter the Tianyin Building city rankings, then such an expenditure is no big deal.

”City Lord, I understand. I’ll go and talk to Wuling Building Master now.” Ru Li bowed to Jing Yan, and seeing that Jing Yan had nothing else to say, he turned and left the room.

...

In one of Hongmeng City’s taverns, in a sky-numbered guest room, several elaborately dressed cultivators were seated.

The middle-aged man at the forefront was Wuling Building Master of the Thunder Domain branch of Tianyin Building. He came to Hongmeng City this time with four subordinates, assessing various conditions of the city. Over time, he has become quite familiar with Hongmeng City, and its conditions are considered good enough, barely meeting the selection criteria for city rankings. However, he hasn’t rushed to say anything, the selection of Hongmeng City into the city rankings depends on whether the controllers of this city understand etiquette.

Wuling Building Master is also in no hurry. As days in Hongmeng City are enjoyable, with good food and drink, they don’t need to hurry to leave.
