The Sword God of the Universe

Chapter 2336: Chapter 2336: Making the First Move

As the Lords departed, the Wuxia Immortal Venerable Mansion became vast and empty.

On the enormous plaza, only Jing Yan and Zhan Zhong remained, along with Ying Zhu Lord temporarily staying there.

”Mr. Jing Yan, Lord Wuxia... she was captured by the people of the Slaughter God Hall,” Zhan Zhong said with a slight tremor in his voice.

”Yes, I already know this. The Wuxia Immortal Venerable will safely return to Wuxia City,” Jing Yan’s voice was calm, but very resolute.

Diao Fu’s words had unsettled Jing Yan earlier. But Diao Fu was wrong; it wasn’t that Jing Yan didn’t dare to go to the Slaughter God Hall to rescue Wuxia, he would definitely go there, even knowing that the Slaughter God Hall’s people were waiting for him. He would still go.

However, before going to the Slaughter God Hall, he needed to prepare.

”Lord Ying Zhu, is Divine Martial City okay? How is the Seventh Young Master?” Jing Yan looked at Ying Zhu.

Ying Zhu was extremely excited.

”Everything’s good, Divine Martial City is fine, and Ying Zuo is performing well. His cultivation has improved a lot recently,” Lord Ying Zhu said with a trembling voice.

”That’s good! Lord Ying Zhu, please heal your injuries in the mansion first, then return to Divine Martial City once you’re well,” Jing Yan paused and added, ”Chief Manager, arrange a residence for Lord Ying Zhu.”

”Yes!” Zhan Zhong quickly replied.

”In a while, Chief Manager, you and Che Zi come to my room,” Jing Yan added.

The room he referred to was where he had previously stayed in the Wuxia Immortal Venerable Mansion.

”Yes!” This time, Zhan Zhong and Che Zi responded together.

Jing Yan returned to the room he had lived in over ten thousand years ago in this mansion, stood still for a moment, and sighed softly, unable to suppress the image of the Wuxia Immortal Venerable’s kind face which surfaced in his mind.

It didn’t take long before Che Zi and Zhan Zhong appeared before Jing Yan.

”Chief Zhan Zhong, I will go to the Slaughter God Hall, but it will take some time. You should spread the message that I, Jing Yan, will certainly go to the Slaughter God Hall for a confrontation in three hundred years,” Jing Yan said slowly.

He needed three hundred years.

During these three hundred years, he would exhaust all efforts to meet the conditions for unleashing the second single-target strike from Thunder Origin, known as Thunder Nine Strikes. What he currently lacked was the understanding and mastery of Thunder Attribute Law.

Jing Yan had deduced that with the aid of Netherworld Crystal Stone, three hundred years should be sufficient.

If he could unleash Thunder Nine Strikes, then the odds of rescuing the Wuxia Immortal Venerable from the Slaughter God Hall would increase significantly.

Actually, if Jing Yan went to the Immortal Venerable Tower now to obtain the Immortal Venerable Seal, his power would greatly improve, but Jing Yan hadn’t considered going to the Immortal Venerable Tower. Faro Heaven’s Immortal Venerable Tower was controlled by Wu Guo Heavenly Lord.

”What?” Zhan Zhong thought he had misheard.

Mr. Jing Yan, you really plan to go to the Slaughter God Hall and rescue Lord Wuxia?

The demons in the Slaughter God Hall are all waiting for you, Mr. Jing Yan, and you still intend to deliver yourself to them voluntarily? Even if you hide, the demons from the Slaughter God Hall would likely spread news threatening you to go there.

”Spread the message that in three hundred years, I will personally go to the Slaughter God Hall. No, revise my statement—it’s not for a confrontation but to destroy the Slaughter God Hall,” Jing Yan’s eyes narrowed as he spoke firmly.

Between him and the Slaughter God Hall, it would be a battle to the death.

Jing Yan also knew that in a war with the Slaughter God Hall, few Immortal Venerable level individuals in Faro Heaven would assist him. Even if many disliked or hated the Slaughter God Hall, they wouldn’t risk conflict with it. Jing Yan didn’t hope for many powerful cultivators to help him.

”This...” Zhan Zhong hesitated.

”Just do as I say,” Jing Yan waved a hand.

”Alright... alright then.” Zhan Zhong nodded worriedly.

”Miss Che Zi.” Jing Yan looked at Che Zi, understanding her role was to gather intelligence around Wuxia, and her capability was considerable.

”Mr. Jing Yan, call me Che Zi, that’s good enough.” Che Zi’s face showed little expression, appearing somewhat cold.

But this was not aimed at Jing Yan; Che Zi’s personality was always this icy.

”Che Zi, please deploy everyone to gather information about the Slaughter God Hall. Notify me immediately if a powerful demon from the Slaughter God Hall appears outside,” Jing Yan said.

”Yes!” Che Zi accepted the command.

”You both may leave now,” Jing Yan said again.

Che Zi and Zhan Zhong left Jing Yan’s room.

”Che Zi, what do you think Mr. Jing Yan is thinking? He says he’ll go to the Slaughter God Hall in three hundred years; isn’t that crazy? Can anyone return after going there? By then, not only might the Wuxia Immortal Venerable not come back, but Mr. Jing Yan might also...” Outside Jing Yan’s room, Zhan Zhong furrowed his brows, shaking his head as he spoke.

”Mr. Jing Yan is not an ordinary person; if he decided to do this, he must have his reasons. Chief Manager, you should follow Mr. Jing Yan’s instructions,” Che Zi remarked, glancing at Zhan Zhong.

”Sigh!” Zhan Zhong exhaled a long sigh.

Although Zhan Zhong couldn’t understand why Jing Yan would voluntarily go to the Slaughter God Hall, he strictly adhered to Jing Yan’s instructions. The information Jing Yan tasked him to disseminate quickly spread from Wuxia City throughout the entire Blue Rain Divine Continent, and then continued to expand outward.

The speed of dissemination was astonishing.

The rapid spread of the message was partly due to Jing Yan’s remarkable declaration, asserting that he would flatten the Slaughter God Hall himself in three hundred years.

Such news taking less than a month to spread across all of Faro Heaven was expected.

A month later.

”Chief Manager, you called for me?” Che Zi approached Zhan Zhong; he had just sent her a message asking her to come over.

”Yes.” Zhan Zhong’s expression was peculiar.

”Che Zi, have you received any news? It seems that Min Lan Immortal Venerable is already dead.” Zhan Zhong took a deep breath.

Min Lan Immortal Venerable, Zhan Zhong of course knew.

In fact, Zhan Zhong was familiar with nearly all the Immortal Venerable Realm powerhouses in Faro Heaven. Even those who liked to cultivate in seclusion and seldom appeared publicly, Zhan Zhong had generally heard of. Min Lan Immortal Venerable had always been quite high-profile, and not many in the Heavenly Domain were unaware of him. Even some Taoist Realm cultivators exploring outside frequently would hear news about Min Lan Immortal Venerable.

The attention drawn by the limited number of Immortal Venerables far exceeded that of Immortal Rhythm Cultivators.

Immortal Rhythm Cultivators, like Black River Heavenly Monarchs, had limited name recognition, only being known among stronger cultivators or major forces.

”I obtained related information several days ago. Min Lan Immortal Venerable was slain by Mr. Jing Yan, at Huatong City. Once Mr. Jing Yan returned to Faro Heaven and learned the Wuxia Immortal Venerable was captured by the Slaughter God Hall, and Min Lan Immortal Venerable had direct involvement, Jing Yan became enraged. He located Min Lan Immortal Venerable and then went to Huatong City and killed him in front of Xima Immortal Venerable.” Che Zi explained swiftly, still expressing little emotion.
