The Sword God of the Universe

Chapter 1093: Chapter 1093: The Troublemaker Has Arrived

The elder of the Heavenly Flower Tower stroked his beard in contemplation, pondering how many ranks Jing Yan should be promoted on the Tianhua rankings.

The intelligence officer in black stood silently by, waiting for the elder’s decision.

The elder didn’t think for too long before speaking again, ”Let’s raise him to the thirty-third position! Hmm, that should be appropriate. A Martial Artist who can rank in the thirties on the Tianhua rankings not only possesses extremely high Martial Arts talent but also has the combat power to easily crush an average one-star True God.”

”Yes!” the intelligence officer responded, turned, and left.

Soon after, Jing Yan, who was ranked fifty-fifth on the Tianhua Stele, saw his name leap up to the thirty-third position.

The Martial Artists across the Tianhua Stele Plaza once again erupted with excitement over Jing Yan’s name.

...

Jing Yan and five other Martial Artists who passed the promotion assessment to the Fifth Palace followed Li Yun and others, moving from the Fourth Palace to the Fifth Palace.

Entering the personnel department, replacing the Fifth Palace member Identity Token. Exiting the personnel department, entering the assessment department, updating personal information.

Since only six Martial Artists were promoted to the Fifth Palace this time, the process was very quick. They spent quite some time on the road, but the time spent in the personnel department and the assessment department was almost negligible.

”Brother Jing Yan, do you still plan to join the Qingmu Department?” Jing Yu asked Jing Yan.

On the road from the Fourth Palace to the Fifth Palace, Jing Yu and Jing Yan had become quite familiar with each other.

”Yes. Training at the Qingmu Department is quite enjoyable, so I don’t want to switch to another department.” Jing Yan replied.

”I am in the Water Moon Department. If we have time in the future, we might as well visit and exchange cultivation insights more often.” Jing Yu nodded and said, without suggesting that Jing Yan join the Qingmu Department. Naturally, he had no intention of transferring from the Water Moon Department to the Qingmu Department.

”Certainly.” Jing Yan smiled.

”Jing Yan?”

A graceful figure approached Jing Yan head-on.

Dressed in a purple long dress, slender figure, beautiful face, her captivating eyes looked at Jing Yan.

Jing Yan sized up this Female Martial Artist and nodded slightly.

”I am Xu Yan, Director of the Fifth Palace Qingmu Department.” Xu Yan introduced herself.

The fact that the Director of the Fifth Palace Qingmu Department was a Female Martial Artist surprised Jing Yan. In the Fourth Palace Qingmu Department, Tan Bin and others did not disclose that the Director of the Fifth Palace Qingmu Department was a woman.

”Greetings, Director Xu Yan.” Jing Yan was momentarily stunned, then responded, cupping his hands in salute.

”Jing Yan, you don’t have to be too formal with me. I assume that after you are promoted to the Fifth Palace, you’ll still choose the Qingmu Department, right?” Xu Yan smiled. In terms of appearance, Xu Yan might not be as alluring as Su Fu, whom Jing Yan had met before, but when she smiled, there was a unique charm that stirred one’s heart.

”If Director Xu Yan welcomes me, I would certainly be willing to join the Fifth Palace Qingmu Department.” Jing Yan immediately said.

”Of course, you are more than welcome. Which of the Ninety-nine Departments wouldn’t welcome a genius like you? They would even beg to have you!” Xu Yan complimented Jing Yan.

”Director Xu Yan flatters me.” Jing Yan smiled and shook his head.

”You can just call me Xu Yan. Come on, let me first take you to familiarize yourself with the Green Wood Bureau Manor of the Fifth Palace Qingmu Department.” Xu Yan said.

”Okay.” Jing Yan agreed.

After bidding farewell to Jing Yu, Jing Yan prepared to follow Xu Yan to the Green Wood Bureau Manor of the Fifth Palace Qingmu Department.

”Which one is Jing Yan?” A loud voice suddenly called out.

A Martial Artist in a black robe stood a hundred meters away, his sharp gaze sweeping over. His tone was somewhat discourteous.

Jing Yan frowned, looking at the other person.

”Which one is Jing Yan? Is Jing Yan here, come forward and speak.” The black-robed Martial Artist asked again.

”I am Jing Yan. Who are you?” Jing Yan spoke out.

”I am Dunrong from the Sixth Palace Sky Wolf Department.” The person, who was sent by Yin Hua to find Jing Yan, identified himself as Dunrong, a member of the Sixth Palace Sky Wolf Department.

Dunrong’s eyes fixed on Jing Yan, ”Jing Yan, come over here, I have a few words to say to you.”

Dunrong’s attitude was superior, waving to Jing Yan as if Jing Yan was his subordinate or servant.

This was outside the Fifth Palace assessment department, and Martial Artists frequently entered and exited the Fifth Palace assessment department, so there were always some Fifth Palace members around. Especially since Jing Yan and others had just been promoted from the Fourth Palace and came out of the assessment department, there were at least a few dozen Martial Artists nearby.

Many recognized Dunrong. Seeing Dunrong’s condescending attitude toward Jing Yan, several people squinted their eyes. It seemed that Dunrong came from the Sixth Palace to give Jing Yan a hard time.

However, why Dunrong wanted to give Jing Yan a hard time was unclear to everyone.

”I don’t seem to know you well. What do you have to say to me?” Jing Yan was also annoyed and asked rather unkindly.

”I told you to come over and speak.” Dunrong’s face darkened slightly.

”Who are you?” Jing Yan’s voice turned cold as well.

”I am Dunrong.” Dunrong shouted.

”I don’t know you! If you have something to say, just say it, and if you need to, fart it out.” Jing Yan also shouted back.

”Haha, so arrogant, a kid just promoted to the Fifth Palace dares to disrespect me like this. Looks like I’ll have to weigh your capabilities.” Dunrong sneered, his eyes glistening with a sinister sheen.

He came down from the Sixth Palace to destroy Jing Yan. However, after being promoted to the Fifth Palace, Jing Yan’s status is the core member of the Luo Jiu Divine Palace. Without any reason, attacking Jing Yan directly would be inappropriate. Dunrong was looking for an excuse.

In this short confrontation, Dunrong gave Jing Yan the pretext of disrespecting him; with him being a Martial Artist from the Sixth Palace and Jing Yan from the Fifth Palace, Dunrong’s status was higher. So, he was ready to make his move.

”Dunrong!” Xu Yan, beside Jing Yan, turned to look at Dunrong, ”Jing Yan is a member of the Fifth Palace Qingmu Department, and I am the Director of the Qingmu Department. If you have any opinions about Jing Yan, you can first speak to me.”

Xu Yan could see that Dunrong was deliberately causing trouble for Jing Yan. As the Director of the Fifth Palace Qingmu Department, she had the responsibility to stand up for Jing Yan.

”Director Xu Yan, I disagree with your statement.” Dunrong glanced at Xu Yan, a cold smile tugging at the corner of his mouth, ”This kid just got promoted to the Fifth Palace, how can you say he is a member of the Fifth Palace Qingmu Department?”

Xu Yan’s heart sank, her brows knitted slightly.

Dunrong’s words were difficult to refute. Strictly speaking, Jing Yan was indeed not yet a member of the Fifth Palace Qingmu Department. At this moment, Jing Yan was merely a Martial Artist of the Fifth Palace, and he could choose to join any department. Because Jing Yan had not yet obtained the Qingmu Department member Token.

”Jing Yan has already agreed to join the Fifth Palace Qingmu Department.” Xu Yan paused, then said.

”Agreed is just agreed, but at this moment, he is not yet a member of the Qingmu Department. So, Director Xu Yan, please do not meddle.” Dunrong sneered.
