Chapter 1013: Chapter 1013: Water Moon Department Provocation

The two people chatted for a few moments.

Jing Yan then asked seriously, ”My lord Chief, is there any news from the Assessment Department?”

Cao Lin knew what Jing Yan meant; he was inquiring about the status of his application for the Third Palace promotion assessment.

He shook his head and said, ”There hasn’t been any news conveyed yet, but based on past experience, the longest time from applying to participating in the promotion assessment is about a year.”

”Hmm, no rush.” Jing Yan nodded.

At this moment, a figure came running quickly.

Even when this person was several hundred meters away, he was already shouting in panic, ”My lord Chief! My lord Chief!”

”Those bastards are challenging us again!” This person was a member of the Second Palace Qingmu Department, with a Martial Arts Cultivation at the Four-star Void God level.

”These damn things!” Cao Lin’s face turned cold, and anger flickered in his eyes.

”My lord Chief, what should we do? They’re speaking very rudely, not only calling all our Qingmu Department members trash but also saying you’re a turtle!” The Martial Artist’s voice lowered a bit as he looked at Cao Lin, but both Jing Yan and Cao Lin heard him clearly.

”Chief Cao Lin, what’s going on?” Jing Yan frowned, looking towards Cao Lin.

”It’s not really a big deal, just a group of self-righteous bastards causing trouble. Lately, they’ve been coming outside the Qingmu Department manor every day to provoke us.” Cao Lin shook his head, a bit helplessly.

”Causing trouble?”

”Is there someone so bold that they dare cause trouble at the Qingmu Department manor?” Jing Yan chuckled slightly.

Although the Qingmu Department is relatively weak among the Ninety-nine Departments, it is still one of the Ninety-nine Departments. The internal members’ strength is relatively strong. It’s very similar to the situation in the First Palace; if the talent and strength are relatively average, ordinary Martial Artists in the Second Palace have no chance to enter the Ninety-nine Departments. The departments in the Second Palace also do not recruit Martial Artists over two thousand years old.

Though Jing Yan hadn’t been in the Second Palace Qingmu Department for long, he noticed that most members were Four-star Void Gods, and there were already some who had stepped into the Five-star Void God level.

”They’re people from the Water Moon Department, of course, they don’t regard our Qingmu Department.” The Four-star Void God level Martial Artist said with a curl of his lips upon hearing Jing Yan’s words.

”Water Moon Department?” Jing Yan frowned again.

”Yes, indeed a few members from the Water Moon Department are Five-star Void Gods. One of them, Jing Yan, you should know, is Jin Guang. You participated in the selection assessment with him; he’s ranked within the top five hundred on the Tianhua List.” Cao Lin nodded and said.

”Jin Guang? He got promoted to the Second Palace too?” Jing Yan’s eyes narrowed.

”He did get promoted to the Second Palace, but a month later than you. He joined the Water Moon Department in the First Palace and continued with the Water Moon Department after advancing to the Second Palace.” Cao Lin waved his hand, saying, ”It’s not a big deal; they’re definitely not daring enough to intrude into the Qingmu Department, just making noise outside. Let them shout all they want.”

Jing Yan had some understanding now.

Initially, he hadn’t thought much of it, but it seemed it might have something to do with himself. Back in the First Palace, Jin Guang had publicly challenged him, and he refused. Perhaps Jin Guang was unwilling to accept this and now came to provoke outside the Qingmu Department manor at the Second Palace.

”My lord Chief, now many people are laughing at us. Outside our Qingmu Department, there are at least a few thousand Second Palace Martial Artists watching.” The Four-star Void God pulled a long face.

In recent times, the members of the Qingmu Department have been unable to leave the manor. As soon as they step out, people are pointing fingers at them. Those not part of any department dare not mock openly, but the ones who joined departments have no such scruples, even ridiculing Qingmu Department folks to their faces.

It’s indeed been quite humiliating recently.

”My lord Chief, with Water Moon Department members causing such havoc, shouldn’t the Chief of the Second Palace Water Moon Department intervene?” Jing Yan felt some anger too.

Setting aside the fact that this may relate to him, even if it doesn’t, Jing Yan is still a member of the Qingmu Department. Seeing the Qingmu Department insulted, Jing Yan couldn’t just stand by.

”That old guy, Guan Zhuo...”

Cao Lin’s eyes flickered.

What he referred to as Guan Zhuo is the Chief of the Second Palace Water Moon Department.

”Letting them cause a ruckus indeed affects my Qingmu Department’s reputation. I suppose I’ll contact Guan Zhuo.” Cao Lin sighed.

Actually, he didn’t want to reach out to Guan Zhuo.

With Water Moon Department members causing provocations outside Qingmu Department manor, Qingmu Department didn’t dare to respond, making it somewhat embarrassing in the first place.

Being forced with no alternative, they even had to contact the opponent’s chief to call back their people, which is even more humiliating.

But at this point, letting the situation continue seems impossible. If this goes on, the Qingmu Department members indeed can’t face leaving their manor.

With no choice, he had to put aside his pride. Cao Lin took out the Communication Crystal Stone and sent a message to Guan Zhuo, explaining the situation and hoping Guan Zhuo could restrain his members.

At the Water Moon Department manor.

”Heh, that old geezer Cao Lin can’t hold on anymore!” Guan Zhuo, dressed in a white robe, chuckled when he saw Cao Lin’s message.

”He wants me to restrain members of the Water Moon Department?”

”Sigh, this old guy is really getting more brainless.” Guan Zhuo shook his head.

”My lord Chief, wasn’t Cao Lin pretty smug before? That native, Jing Yan, recruited by his Qingmu Department, you didn’t see how smug he was, flaunting his prowess everywhere. Haha, now he should realize that even with Jing Yan, his Qingmu Department is still trash compared to our Water Moon Department,” a deacon from the Water Moon Department said with a laugh.

”Cao Lin has indeed gotten a bit too full of himself; it’s necessary to press him down a bit.” Guan Zhuo said, then sent a message back to Cao Lin.

Cao Lin received Guan Zhuo’s message immediately.

”Chief Guan Zhuo, did the Water Moon Department members intrude into the Qingmu Department manor? If they did, you can take action. But if the Water Moon Department members didn’t intrude into the Qingmu Department manor, there’s nothing I can do! Exchange between department members is a good thing, beneficial to both sides!” Guan Zhuo apparently had no intention of restraining his members.

Upon seeing the message, Cao Lin’s old face turned completely black.

He personally reached out for communication, which was a low posture in itself, almost like admitting defeat, but still, Guan Zhuo reacted like this.

Cao Lin was so angry his body started to tremble.

The Water Moon Department members were only provoking outside the Qingmu Department manor, and as chief, Cao Lin obviously couldn’t go out himself to deal with those bastards.

”It seems the Water Moon Department Chief is condoning this event.” Jing Yan laughed, his smile a bit cold.

”Chief Cao Lin, I’ll go take a look then!” Jing Yan said and began to walk outside.
