My Monster Derived Skills Are the Orthodox Ones

Chapter 81: Chapter 81: Eldest Senior Brother and the Others Are Too Slow

The Sect Leader was in a fury after being forcefully pulled from his seclusion.

But when Xu Jingxing handed him the Wenda Alliance pamphlet and explained what Shen Weifeng and the others had done, Meng Mingzhe froze on the spot, as if he had lost the ability to think.

”People from all Five Sects are involved?” Meng Mingzhe forced himself to remain calm.

”All of them.” Li Ye lowered his head. ”Sect Leader-Uncle, this list is from three days ago. Some of my senior brothers have been away for several days and haven’t reported back. I don’t know who else they might have recruited.”

Even though Meng Mingzhe was in the Divinity Transformation Realm, his vision went black upon hearing Li Ye’s words, and he nearly collapsed.

”Sect Leader, what do we do now?” Xu Jingxing said. ”If this continues, it’s only a matter of time before disaster befalls the Cyan Sun Sect...”

Meng Mingzhe shot a fierce glare at Li Ye, wishing he could tear him to shreds. Of all the things he had planned for, he never imagined that even confining Li Ye to Changding Peak would result in such a monumental mess.

But in the next moment, he too was stunned. ”The eighth level of Qi Refining?”

He then did the same thing Xu Jingxing had.

Li Ye allowed him to inspect his cultivation.

This was the source of his confidence, the reason he could lay his cards on the table.

If he were still the same penniless boy he was before, having caused such a huge disaster, he would have undoubtedly been thrown out as a scapegoat.

After all, the Cyan Sun Sect had invested almost nothing in him.

But now, as a genius who had reached the eighth level of Qi Refining in just one month, his importance was on a completely different level.

After all, even someone like Yang Tianrui was treasured as a genius, with the sect hoping he would break through to the Nascent Soul realm before the age of forty and set a new record for the Cyan Sun Sect!

He had compressed a three-year Refining Stage into a single month. He was clearly a genius among geniuses, and they had no choice but to take him seriously...

”One month, to the eighth level of Qi Refining?” Meng Mingzhe swallowed hard and subconsciously glanced at Xu Jingxing.

Xu Jingxing nodded. ”He cultivated on his own, Senior Brother. If Qi maintains this speed, I’m afraid it won’t even take him ten years to achieve Nascent Soul Formation.”

”Master, I think five years at most,” Li Ye said, shaking his head. He took out a Spirit Stone. ”Last night, I followed my sixth senior brother’s example and absorbed Spiritual Qi from a Spirit Stone. My cultivation speed is even faster now.”

As he spoke.

He sat cross-legged on the ground, held the Spirit Stone, and silently channeled his energy.

In an instant, the Spirit Stone in his hand had shrunk by a noticeable amount.

As the Wenda Alliance’s influence continued to expand, Li Ye’s Demon Qi grew stronger by the day, and his cultivation speed naturally accelerated as well.

”At this rate, it really won’t take ten years.” Meng Mingzhe watched as Li Ye’s cultivation level visibly jumped, his gaze filled with envy. ”If he switches from medium-grade Spirit Stones to high-grade ones, he’ll reach Foundation Establishment in a month at most. His muscles and bones are far more solid than a normal person’s, and all the Spiritual Qi in his body originates from himself. His will be a Perfect Foundation Establishment. Breaking through to Divinity Transformation, Refining Void, and even Harmonization probably won’t be a problem...”

”Sect Leader, let’s put Qi’s matter aside for now. The urgent task is to deal with the Wenda Alliance,” Xu Jingxing said, reminding him as he looked at Li Ye, who was absorbed in his cultivation, and pointed to the Wenda Alliance pamphlet.

”How else can we deal with it? We’ll recall Shen Weifeng and the others before this blows up any further,” Meng Mingzhe said.

”What about the disciples from other sects they’ve swayed?” Xu Jingxing asked.

”...” Meng Mingzhe snorted. ”When Shen Weifeng and the others return, I will personally escort them to the other sects to apologize. The rest are just a bunch of Mortals. We don’t need to concern ourselves with them.”

”Sect Leader-Uncle,” Li Ye said meekly. ”I believe your proposed solution might not be appropriate.”

”What’s not appropriate?” Meng Mingzhe had a love-hate relationship with Li Ye. He hated him for causing such a huge mess, yet loved him for being potentially the greatest genius in the history of the Cyan Sun Sect—one who could very well lead the sect to its zenith.

”Sect Leader-Uncle, recalling First Senior Brother and the others will indeed save the Cyan Sun Sect from disaster.” Li Ye’s timid voice suddenly piped up from the side. ”But has the Sect Leader-Uncle considered that the Wenda Alliance’s model has already spread? What if other sects continue to develop the Wenda Alliance in secret?”

”What does their development have to do with the Cyan Sun Sect?” Meng Mingzhe asked.

”Sect Leader-Uncle, in our world, the Wenda Alliance is a massive force that secretly controls the world. It can easily mobilize vast resources and influence global trends,” Li Ye said. ”Once it takes shape, it’s unstoppable. If the Cyan Sun Sect withdraws and this power falls into the hands of other sects, I fear the Cyan Sun Sect will be at a disadvantage.”

”How so?” Meng Mingzhe asked.

”To ensure the legitimacy of their Wenda Alliance, I’m afraid they would eradicate the Cyan Sun Sect to make the world believe, from the very source, that they are the true originators,” Li Ye said. ”In our world, the Wenda Alliance once split for this very reason. The two factions fought a fierce war over legitimacy, resulting in countless casualties.”

”Hmm?” Meng Mingzhe frowned. He looked through the Wenda Alliance pamphlet again and said, ”Li Hao, this pamphlet isn’t very clear. Tell me about this Wenda Alliance in detail.”

Li Ye stood up.

He meticulously explained the Wenda Alliance’s development model and its future possibilities to Meng Mingzhe and Xu Jingxing.

GASP!

Both Meng Mingzhe and Xu Jingxing drew a sharp, cold breath.

They looked at each other, suddenly realizing they had oversimplified the matter.

Once the Wenda Alliance grew powerful, it could indeed shake the current balance of the cultivation world.

”Sect Leader-Uncle, Master,” Li Ye said. ”Before establishing the Wenda Alliance, First Senior Brother and the others had already planned to take the fall if things went wrong. That’s why they did it in secret, hiding it from you, Master.”

He took a deep breath as if mustering his courage and said, ”Master, actually, I don’t think First Senior Brother and the others were wrong. I just saw the Wenda Alliance developing too quickly and was afraid First Senior Brother would lose control of the situation. That’s why I told you.

”I’ve always believed that the Wenda Alliance’s benefits for the Cyan Sun Sect outweigh the drawbacks. It just needs a powerful expert like you, Master, or the Sect Leader-Uncle, to oversee things to be more stable...”

’Oversee things?’

Meng Mingzhe fell into deep thought.

He had been the Sect Leader of the Cyan Sun Sect for so many years, but the Wenda Alliance’s model still sent a profound shock through him.

Most importantly, it had a very high chance of success.

Li Ye looked at Meng Mingzhe expectantly. ”Sect Leader-Uncle, maybe I’m just being fanciful. But I come from the Wenda Alliance, and I know how powerful it is. I just feel that something this good should be kept in our own hands. After all, since I came to this world, the first people I grew close to were in the Cyan Sun Sect, and the only ones I can rely on are in the Cyan Sun Sect.”

”Qi, you don’t need to blame yourself. You’re new here and don’t understand this world; you just wanted to make things better. You did nothing wrong.” Xu Jingxing was always tolerant of geniuses. He looked at Li Ye and comforted him, ”The one at fault is your first senior brother for acting on his own. If he had told me—his master—about this, things wouldn’t have reached this unmanageable state...”

”Junior Brother, go and summon the other Peak Masters!” Meng Mingzhe, snapping out of his contemplation, seemed to have made up his mind. He said to Xu Jingxing, ”Don’t alert anyone else.”

”Yes, Sect Leader,” Xu Jingxing replied before turning and leaving.

A short while later.

The Peak Masters of the five peaks gathered once again.

Meng Mingzhe passed the Wenda Alliance pamphlet around for everyone to read, while Li Ye was responsible for explaining the organization’s origins.

For the past few days, everything he had done revolved around the Wenda Alliance. This fictitious organization had now become more and more complete, even having specific details about what major events it had orchestrated at what times, and which historical trends it had altered...

The details were so vivid it was as if the civilization of his previous world truly had a mastermind like the Wenda Alliance pulling the strings from behind the scenes.

”What are your thoughts, everyone?” Meng Mingzhe asked.

”Senior Brother, I think this is an opportunity,” Wen Lei said. ”Once the Wenda Alliance is established, the Cyan Sun Sect could rival the Upper Three Sects and become a true ruler of the cultivation world. It’s worth a try.”

”Senior Brother Wen, have you considered that if we’re exposed, the first ones we’ll anger are the Upper Three Sects and the Demon Sect?” Yu Lanxin said. ”They will not allow a Wenda Alliance that secretly influences the world to exist.”

”Indeed. If the other sects of the Five Sects alliance discover that the Cyan Sun Sect is the culprit behind the Wenda Alliance, they won’t tolerate us either,” Lu Qingling said, shaking her head. ”The risk is too great.”

”Martial Uncles and Aunts, when First Senior Brother and the others went out to spread the word, they didn’t do it under the Cyan Sun Sect’s name. Instead, they used the Fox’s Prowess, borrowing the names of many influential figures from the Upper Three Sects, the Demon Sect, the Ghost Sect, and even the Demon Realm.”

Li Ye raised his hand and said timidly, ”At least in the eyes of the world, many people in the Upper Three Sects and the Three Evil Sects are also members of the Wenda Alliance. If they investigate, they’ll likely start with themselves.

”Even if they find that their own Elders are clean, they will probably suspect that the Demon Sect and others framed them.

”By the same token, the Demon Sect will suspect the Upper Three Sects.

”No one would ever think that the Cyan Sun Sect is behind something this big.

”As long as they’re suspicious of each other, the Cyan Sun Sect will have an opportunity to rise. We can gain real control of the Wenda Alliance and then move it from the light into the shadows, turning it into a truly hidden organization.

”In our world, that’s how the Wenda Alliance went underground and developed in secret.

”However, all of this is predicated on expanding the Wenda Alliance across the world as quickly as possible, letting it bloom everywhere. It shouldn’t be confined to the area around the Cyan Sun Sect, which would only arouse suspicion for no reason. Only by moving fast can we muddy the waters. First Senior Brother and the others were actually moving too slowly...”

”The cultivation world has been peaceful for so many years. If the Upper Three Sects and the Demon Sect become suspicious of each other, it’s highly likely to trigger a great war between the righteous and evil paths,” Meng Mingzhe said hesitantly.

”Sect Leader-Uncle, a war between the righteous and evil paths is far better than them tracing this back to the Cyan Sun Sect. Without war, resources are fixed. How can the Cyan Sun Sect rise?” Li Ye took a deep breath and continued, ”Moreover, a sudden war can be used as a case study for the Wenda Alliance to attract more members and better hide the Cyan Sun Sect behind the scenes. Sect Leader-Uncle, this is the Cyan Sun Sect’s chance. As they say, the merciful don’t lead troops...”
