Chapter List (107)
The moment Erik appeared, Elowen did not go any deeper into the battlefield. Instead, she immediately ran toward the Succubi who had just been rescued from the spider.
She knelt beside a woman with a broken arm, placed her hand on the woman’s shoulder, and calmly instructed, ”Those of you with severe injuries, lie down. Don’t force yourselves to move. I’ll stabilize you first.”
A life-infused wind quickly spread from Elowen’s body, carrying a faint scent of grass and leaves as it covered the surrounding area. Pale-green currents slipped through torn battle armor and seeped into their wounds, slowly stopping the blood flow. Small cuts began to close, while those with more serious injuries could clearly feel their pain lessen.
The Succubus beneath Elowen’s hand trembled faintly. She was just about to sit up when she called out, ”Lady Elowen...”
Elowen immediately held her shoulder down and reminded her helplessly, ”Don’t talk so much. My energy is only stabilizing your body. If you force mana through your injuries to heal them now, they’ll hurt even worse tomorrow.”
The injured woman nodded obediently, but her eyes kept looking past Elowen’s shoulder.
Elowen noticed and turned slightly as well.
Erik was standing outside the danger zone, his gaze continuously checking the Succubi who had withdrawn from the battlefield. When he saw that the captain who had been dragged away by the silk was still conscious, his shoulders visibly relaxed.
The captain saw that reaction too.
Her eyes immediately grew hot. Her lips moved slightly as she called out in a tiny voice, ”Lord Erik...”
She was not the only one. The Succubi around her gradually realized that Erik had truly come, and whispers quickly spread.
A woman lying nearby looked at him with disbelief and quietly said to her companion, ”Lord Erik really came.”
The woman beside her asked in surprise, ”Wasn’t he at the outpost?”
The Succubus Elowen had just treated did not care about the answer. She propped herself up with one hand, trying to sit, forcing Elowen to press her down again.
Elowen frowned. ”What are you doing?”
The woman’s face reddened slightly. She looked toward Erik in the distance and answered with some embarrassment, ”I just want Lord Erik to see that I’m all right.”
Elowen stared at her silently for several seconds, then asked coolly, ”You want him to see you tear your wounds open again?”
The Succubus immediately fell silent and obediently lay back down.
Elowen shook her head helplessly, but even she could not deny that Erik’s appearance had changed the spirits of the surrounding Succubi almost instantly.
A woman who had thought she was about to die only minutes ago was now using one hand to fix the blood-stained hair on her head. Another saw Erik coming closer and quietly tugged up the torn section of her armor, trying to cover the exposed skin beneath before pretending nothing had happened.
Elowen saw all of it.
Her emerald eyes narrowed slightly. Then her body naturally shifted to one side, just enough to block Erik from several gazes that had grown far too heated.
High in the air, Meira saw the scene as well.
The corner of her lips curled upward slightly.
From where she floated, her long golden hair, nearly reaching her waist, was blown behind her by the wind. Her pointed Elven ears were clearly visible between the soft strands. Standing over one hundred eighty-five centimeters tall, Meira already stood out. Hovering in the sky, she carried an even more overwhelming presence. Her long legs were held together beneath her battle dress, while her slender waist contrasted sharply with the mature curves of her chest and hips. Even standing still among the lightning, she possessed a beauty that was both noble and dangerous.
But the smile on Meira’s lips lasted only a few seconds.
A familiar sensation suddenly rose from deep inside her body. Her legs instinctively pressed together, and her shoulders trembled faintly.
”Hm...”
The sound had barely escaped her throat before Meira forcibly swallowed it down. She immediately lowered her head to look at Erik, a faint blush appearing across her pale cheeks.
Erik happened to look up at the same moment.
At first, he did not understand what her gaze meant. But when he saw Meira’s strange posture, a suspicion immediately arose. His hand instinctively moved to his pocket.
The pink pen was still there.
More importantly, the light on its body was still on.
Erik fell silent.
Forgot to turn it off.
He was just about to reach for the control button when Meira’s voice was transmitted directly into his mind through the connection between them.
Don’t.
Erik’s finger immediately stopped.
He looked up at her.
Meira still hovered amid the dark clouds, one hand raised to maintain the lightning around the battlefield. From a distance, she was still the mature, majestic Elemental Lord who had just reassured every Succubus below. Yet Erik could clearly see that her long legs were pressed closer together than usual. Even her pointed ears had begun to turn red.
Erik frowned slightly and sent his thoughts back to her.
Are you sure?
Meira bit her lip.
Another pulse of feedback from the device ran through her, making her soft waist tremble faintly. Yet she still forced herself to remain upright. After several seconds, her voice in Erik’s mind was much softer than the cold, dignified exterior she showed everyone else.
Mm... Master.
Erik looked at the enormous spider still roaring ahead and asked:
We’re fighting.
Meira answered immediately.
I know.
Then turn it off?
No.
Her answer came almost instantly.
Right afterward, Meira seemed to realize that she had replied too quickly. Her Elven ears turned even redder, and a rare hint of embarrassment appeared on her mature, usually composed face.
She was quiet for several seconds before adding in a small voice:
Your little dog... wants a little more.
Erik genuinely did not know how to respond.
This woman had been able to sit in the meeting room during the day and endure the pen for more than half an hour. Now, standing in the middle of a battlefield, she still did not want him to turn it off. If he had not seen it with his own eyes, Erik would have found it difficult to connect the woman pouting inside his mind to the Elemental Lord over one hundred eighty-five centimeters tall, whom more than twenty Succubi below were looking up to with admiration.
Meira adjusted her posture slightly, pressing her legs tighter together to keep her body steady. The mature curves beneath her dress became more pronounced with the movement, but Meira had no mind to care about her appearance. Every time another wave of feedback ran through her, her waist trembled again, forcing her to bite her lip to preserve a calm expression.
The spider below suddenly let out a shriek, its abdomen glowing brighter.
Meira immediately pushed her thoughts aside.
Her green eyes turned cold. The hand raised above her closed, and the clouds overhead rapidly gathered. Bolts of blue-white lightning crawled across the sky, forming a field of thunder that made the air around it tremble within seconds.
Meira stared directly at the spider and gave a cold command.
”Down.”
A massive pillar of lightning immediately descended.
But at the very moment Meira unleashed a great amount of mana, the pen in Erik’s pocket sent out a stronger pulse than usual. Her knees softened at once, and her tall body trembled, causing her elemental control to slip for less than a second.
That one second was enough to send the lightning bolt off course to the left.
A massive explosion thundered through the forest. The ground within dozens of meters was instantly scorched black, and the surrounding trees turned to charred remains.
Only the spider still stood exactly where it was.
The atmosphere in the forest immediately became strange.
The brown-haired captain looked at the enormous scorched crater beside the monster, then slowly raised her head to look at Meira.
After hesitating for a moment, she asked, ”...Did Lady Meira miss?”
A Succubus beside her immediately shook her head with absolute certainty. ”Impossible.”
”But the spider is still standing.”
The other woman fell silent for a few seconds before forcing out an explanation. ”Perhaps Lady Meira was warning it.”
The captain looked at the distance between the lightning crater and the spider, then quietly remarked, ”That warning was a little far away.”
Meira heard every word.
Her pointed ears immediately turned bright red.
Her voice instantly rang out in Erik’s mind.
Master.
Erik tried to keep a straight face as he replied, Hm?
Meira bit her lip, her voice carrying obvious embarrassment. You’re not allowed to laugh.
Erik answered calmly, I’m not laughing.
The corners of your mouth are curved up.
I can’t control it.
Master!
If they were not still in the middle of a battlefield, Meira truly wanted to fly down and bite him.
But before she could do anything, the spider below suddenly turned its abdomen toward her.
A massive stream of white silk shot straight into the air.
With Meira’s speed, this type of attack should have been nothing to worry about. She only needed to tilt her body to evade it. But at the very moment she prepared to move, the device sent another wave of feedback through her.
Meira trembled for less than half a second.
But that was enough.
The silk wrapped directly around her slim waist and long legs, forcing them tightly together and freezing Meira in midair.
The entire battlefield fell silent.
The spider gave her no time to react. It immediately yanked on the silk.
Meira’s body was dragged out of the sky.
Erik’s expression changed at once. Every playful thought vanished from his mind.
”Meira!”
He nearly shot forward before he had time to think.
Elowen, who had been treating people behind him, saw the scene and immediately sprang to her feet.
”Erik!”
But he had already rushed beyond the range of her Life Wind.
Meira fell between two treetops. Silk wrapped tightly around her waist and back, while her legs were almost completely bound together. At more than one hundred eighty-five centimeters tall, she was already more striking than most Succubi. Now, with the white silk wrapped around her, the mature lines of her body stood out even more clearly—especially the narrow waist leading into her full hips beneath it.
But no one had the mind to notice that.
The spider had clearly sensed an opportunity.
One enormous front leg immediately rose, and a shadow rapidly covered the place where Meira had fallen.
The captain, who had only just escaped a similar situation, turned pale.
”Lord Erik!”
Erik looked up.
There was no longer enough time to dodge.
He clenched his fists and gathered the full strength of Black Iron Stage Ten and his Incubus Physique into both legs. The ground beneath his boots immediately cracked as he charged forward. Then Erik raised both arms and directly caught the enormous leg stabbing down at him.
A heavy impact thundered out.
The ground beneath Erik instantly sank, forcing him down onto one knee.
The first sensation that reached him could be summed up in a single word.
Heavy.
So heavy that the bones in both of his arms seemed to groan. Erik’s current physique far surpassed that of an ordinary man, but against a monster more than twenty-five meters tall, the gap in strength was still too great.
Erik gritted his teeth and could not help muttering, ”Fuck...”
The muscles in both arms tightened at once. Veins stood out clearly beneath his skin, and even the fabric around his shoulders was stretched so tightly that it seemed close to tearing apart.
At that moment, more than ten bursts of mana flew in at the same time.
A female Succubus immediately shouted, ”Support him!”
The others nearly all rushed forward at once. A layer of mana shields quickly formed beneath the spider’s leg. Two vines tightly wrapped around its joint, while wave after wave of wind blades slashed against its armor, trying to relieve the pressure on Erik.
One Succubus even used her shoulder to forcefully shove Erik out of the danger zone as she shouted, ”You can’t stand here!”
Erik staggered back and immediately looked toward Meira.
”But Meira—”
The woman did not let him finish. She immediately replied, ”We’ll save Lady Meira!”
The brown-haired captain ran over as well and spread both arms directly in front of Erik. Her face was still stained with blood, and nearly half the shoulder of her armor had been torn away, exposing a patch of pale skin beneath.
But she did not care at all. She only looked at Erik with panic in her eyes.
”Fall back!”
Erik frowned. ”I can’t just stand here and watch—”
The captain practically screamed, her eyes reddening with worry.
”What are we supposed to do if you get hurt?!”
Erik froze.
Only then did he realize it was not just her.
The Succubi around him had automatically formed several layers in front of him. Some raised shields. Some drew their bows. The mages began preparing spells. Even a woman with a wound in her abdomen pulled her armor back into place, gritted her teeth, and stood in front of Erik.
He looked at their backs and, for a moment, did not know what to say.
But before Erik could speak, a terrifying aura suddenly erupted from the spider’s direction.
Everyone immediately fell silent.
Amid the layers of white silk tightly binding her body, a slender hand slowly reached out.
The temperature around them began to rise.
Then the wind picked up, lifting dry leaves and dirt from the ground around the area. At the same time, blue-white bolts of lightning began crawling across the silk binding her.
Meira slowly raised her head.
Her golden hair was slightly disheveled, with several strands stuck to cheeks that still held a faint blush. The white silk tightened around her tall body, making her look somewhat disheveled. But the green eyes that had just held embarrassment in front of Erik had now changed completely.
She looked at the silk on her body, then at the spider ahead.
Only one simple thought remained in Meira’s mind.
It had just made her lose face in front of her Master.
