SSS-Ranked Surgeon In Another World: The Healer Is Actually OP!

[Sophie]: [Thank God you’re online Bruce…]

Bruce leaned back slightly in his chair and took another calm sip of Ashen Gin before replying, his fingers moving easily across the glowing interface of the holographic screen.

[Bruce:] [What’s up baby girl, did you miss me?]

The response came almost instantly.

[Sophie]: [I do. But it seems obvious that you don’t miss me.]

Bruce couldn’t help but smile.

He could almost picture her expression as she typed that. Arms folded, lips slightly pouting, eyes narrowed in mock accusation.

He replied quickly.

Bruce: I do miss you. You know I’ll always love you. I’ve just been a little busy.

There was a short pause.

Then.

[Sophie]: [I understand.]

The typing indicator appeared again.

Bruce waited.

Around him the guild hall continued its drunken chaos.

Brakk was now arm-wrestling Torren while shouting encouragement at himself.

Kelvin was still arguing with the bottle.

Duke had begun explaining fermentation theory again to absolutely no one who was listening.

The bracelet chimed softly.

[Sophie]: [I have something to tell you…]

Bruce raised an eyebrow slightly.

Then another message appeared.

[Sophie]: You see… I promised Lily to get you to come back home today to go watch Widetv with her…

Bruce blinked.

A few seconds later another message followed.

[Sophie]: [Oh you don’t know. TV is the latest invention of the Thorne family.]

[Sophie]: [It specifically plays videos with a higher quality than normal smart bracelet holographic video. Though smart bracelet video quality is already pretty high, this one is better.]

Bruce’s eyes lit up slightly.

Is this what I think it is…

The typing indicator appeared again.

He waited.

[Sophie]: [There we’ll watch the Adventurer Guild trial. Thorne called it the movie version.]

Bruce leaned forward slightly now.

Another message arrived.

[Sophie]: [They created a place they call a movie theatre where people can pay to watch it on an extremely large wide TV.]

Bruce’s eyes widened faintly.

A massive screen.

Public viewing.

Adventurer trials turned into entertainment.

The Thorne family had turned the entire thing into a spectacle.

Another message appeared.

[Sophie]: [Will you be here?]

Bruce typed immediately.

Bruce: Yeah. [Don’t be surprised though.]

Then he stood up.

The sudden movement caught the attention of several people around the table.

Duke glanced up lazily.

“You leaving already?” he asked, swirling the liquor in his glass.

Bruce nodded once.

“We can continue tomorrow.”

Duke waved dismissively.

“Fine, fine. Go wherever mysterious heroes go at this hour.”

Bruce gave a small nod to the others around the table.

Then he turned and walked toward the exit.

Behind him the guild hall continued its drunken celebration.

Laughter.

Shouting.

Glasses clinking.

Except for one person.

Jean watched him.

Silently.

She said nothing.

Did nothing.

She simply watched him walk away.

Then she picked up her glass.

And swallowed another cup of Ashen Gin.

Meanwhile.

Bruce stepped out into the cold night air.

The door closed behind him with a dull thud, muffling the noise of the guild hall. The world outside was quieter, calmer. Snow crunched softly beneath his boots as he stepped onto the frost-covered street.

Cold wind brushed against his face.

He lifted his wrist slightly.

’Vaelith.’

The response came instantly within his mind.

[Yes?]

Bruce exhaled faintly.

Where’s Sophie currently?

There was a brief pause.

Then.

[Hmm…]

[She’s close to your residence.]

Bruce nodded slightly.

Alright.

He glanced briefly back toward the guild building.

The laughter inside still echoed faintly through the thick wooden walls.

Then he spoke again.

Directly teleport me to her.

There was a short moment of silence.

Then.

Space folded.

The street vanished.

And Bruce disappeared into the night.

The next second, Bruce appeared right beside Sophie, materializing from thin air in a way that stole her breath.

She gasped, her eyes widening in genuine surprise, heart slamming against her ribs, but before she could even form a word, his strong arms wrapped decisively around her curvy waist, pulling her flush against his solid frame.

His voice dropped low and domineering against the shell of her ear, a velvet command laced with raw hunger: “Dont be surprised, love.”

Sophie melted instantly, every inch of her responsive to his dominance. Her hands slid up to rest on his broad shoulders, fingers digging in just enough to anchor herself as she leaned in so hard her full, soft breasts pressed against the hard plane of his chest.

The heat of him seeped through their clothes, and their lips met in the first tentative brush, a soft, lingering kiss that tasted like promise and fire.

At first it was gentle, almost reverent. Their mouths moved in slow, sensual sync, lips parting and closing with feather-light pressure, savoring the warmth and the quiet hitch of breath between them.

Bruce’s grip on her waist tightened possessively, one hand sliding up the curve of her spine to cradle the back of her neck, tilting her head just so.

Sophie sighed into it, her body arching closer, and the kiss deepened by degrees. He caught her lower lip between his, sucking gently, slow, deliberate pulls that made her toes curl and a soft whimper escape her throat. She returned the favor, her own lips closing around his upper lip in a teasing suck, tugging lightly until he growled low in his chest, the sound vibrating straight through her.

Then Sophie took control of the moment. Her tongue dipped forward, slipping past his parted lips to seek his with bold, hungry intent. The kiss turned molten.

Their tongues met and rolled against each other in a slow, luxurious dance, sliding, curling, stroking in perfect rhythm. She tasted him fully now: the smoky, herbal bite of the Ashen Gin he’d been drinking just minutes before he teleported to her. It lingered on his tongue like dark, forbidden nectar, rich juniper edged with charred oak and a faint, intoxicating feeling that burned sweetly at the back of her throat. She was instantly drunk on it, on him.

The flavor flooded her senses, making her head spin and her pulse thunder between her thighs.

She chased it greedily, her tongue exploring every corner of his mouth, licking and twisting with increasing urgency while his own tongue answered in kind, thrusting and retreating in a sensual battle that left them both breathless.
