SSS-Ranked Surgeon In Another World: The Healer Is Actually OP!

Bruce remained still for a moment longer, absorbing the weight of what had just been forged.

Then he stood.

The three of them faced one another in the center of the throne hall, no longer monarch, guildmaster, and outsider. They were something else now. Architects of the next era.

The war had been silent for too long.

Now it had direction.

“For Velmora,” Bruce said. His voice was low, steady, unwavering. And this time, it was not a declaration. It was a vow.

The frost lining the throne hall floor pulsed faintly, as if the very mana veins of the palace had registered the shift in intent. Something had solidified here, not merely an agreement, not merely strategy, but purpose sharpened into direction.

Isolde’s gaze moved from Duke to Bruce.

This time, there was no ceremonial distance in her posture. No political veil. No layered formality meant for courtiers and observers. Only clarity.

“Bruce.” She spoke his name evenly, letting it settle between them like a stone dropped into still water. He met her eyes without flinching.

“You possess the ability to detect and eliminate Invaders at the soul level.”

It wasn’t phrased as a question. It was an acknowledgment of fact.

Bruce did not deny it.

“You are the only being in Velmora,” she continued, her voice steady but edged with quiet gravity, “who can end a possession without destroying the vessel.”

Silence stretched between them. Duke watched from the side, arms folded, expression unreadable but attentive.

Isolde descended from her throne once more. This time, there was no frost storm accompanying her. No display of aura. No demonstration of dominance. Just a sovereign walking toward a decision she had already weighed.

She stopped a few steps before Bruce.

“I formally grant you authority,” she said calmly, “to conduct a covert purge operation across Eiskar.”

The words carried weight, not as a ruler commanding a subject, but as a monarch entrusting a weapon.

“You will sweep this kingdom,” she continued, her voice dropping. “Quietly. Methodically. Using your detection ability. Any individual found to be possessed, noble, officer, guild member, commander, will be dealt with.”

Bruce did not look away.

“Discreetly,” she added. “There will be no public panic. No announcements. No visible upheaval.”

Duke’s voice entered the space smoothly. “Disappearances can be explained.”

Isolde inclined her head. “Transfers. Reassignments. Sudden illness. Expeditions gone wrong.”

The throne hall felt vast and empty around them, as though the walls themselves were listening.

Bruce understood.

This would not be glorious. It would not be celebrated. No songs would be written. No statues erected. It would simply happen.

“You may sweep the entirety of Eiskar’s territory,” Isolde continued. “From the capital to the furthest border fort.”

Her expression hardened.

“But understand the limitation.” She did not soften the truth. “Possessed individuals currently beyond our borders, beyond the reach of my influence, or those embedded deep within active dungeons and Labyrinths…” Her voice lowered, frost whispering faintly along the floor. “They will be beyond your immediate reach.”

Bruce gave a single nod. “Then I start with what’s here.”

The frost stilled completely.

Duke studied him carefully. “This won’t be simple. Some will resist. Some may be high-ranking. Some may be deeply embedded, with loyal factions beneath them.”

“I know.”

“And if you misjudge?” Duke pressed, his tone calm but deliberate. “If you act against someone innocent?”

Bruce did not hesitate. “I won’t.”

There was no arrogance in his voice. Only certainty. Life Glance did not blur. It did not speculate. It revealed.

Isolde watched him with sharp, searching eyes. “You understand what this role makes you?” she asked softly.

Bruce’s expression remained steady. “The shadow.”

“Yes.” Her voice carried the finality of a sentence already passed. “The unseen executioner of Eiskar.”

The weight of that title did not crash down on him. It settled instead, heavy, deliberate, inevitable.

He would move through noble estates under the cover of night. Through barracks humming with disciplined order. Through guild halls thick with ambition and pride. Scanning. Listening. Watching. Ending threats before they even realized they had been discovered.

No recognition. No applause. No gratitude. Just silence and the knowledge that someone had to do it.

Duke spoke again, quieter now. “You don’t have to accept if you don’t want to.”

Bruce did not look at him. “I know, this has always been my plan, what I’ll do to the invaders in this kingdom I’ll do to the invaders in every other kingdom.”

There was a pause, then, without flourish,

“I won’t ignore something that threatens people I care about.”

The simplicity of the statement carried more conviction than any oath.

Isolde’s gaze softened by a fraction. “Very well.”

“From this moment onward, you operate under my silent decree.”

She lifted her hand. Frost condensed into a small crystalline sigil, intricate and layered, woven with strands of royal authority and sovereign mana. It shimmered faintly in the air between them, humming with quiet recognition.

With a subtle motion, it dissolved into Bruce’s chest.

There was no flare of light. No visible mark. But the palace itself acknowledged him, something deep within the architecture of its ancient wards shifting, recognizing a new thread woven into its design.

“You will not be obstructed by the Royal Guard within Eiskar,” Isolde said. “If necessary, I will override any resistance.”

Duke gave a faint nod. “And I’ll ensure the Adventurer Guild doesn’t get in your way either.”

Bruce exhaled slowly.

The path ahead was no longer abstract. It was clear. He would begin in the capital. Then the outer districts. Then the fortifications. Methodical. Quiet. Precise.

And if the infestation ran deeper than expected, then Eiskar would only be the beginning.

Isolde returned to her throne, posture steady, eyes colder now, but not cruel. Focused.

“Velmora has been infiltrated for centuries,” she said quietly. “Let them believe they are still hidden.”

Duke’s lips curved faintly. “Until they start disappearing.”

Bruce turned toward the massive doors of the throne hall. The carved ice and steel stood closed, imposing and silent. Beyond them lay a kingdom unaware, citizens walking streets beneath falling frost, nobles hosting quiet dinners, commanders reviewing reports.

Some innocent. Some compromised. All breathing the same air.

But beneath the surface, a purge had already begun.

And this time, the Invaders would not see it coming.
