Back To The 80s: President's Doted Wife

Chapter 866: Chapter 867: Suspicious Intentions

As Cheng Su expected, Old Song and his group agreed to join in.

”Alright, but you know, my spouse is currently at training. I want to wait for him to come back and discuss with him before starting this project. In the meantime, I don’t want our customers at Joy Soon Loy to dwindle. So, we need to keep operating while renovating, and the kitchen issue needs to be settled too! This way, we won’t lose too many old customers.” Cheng Su said.

”Naturally.” Old Song wasn’t in a rush either, and he prioritized the customer base, understanding that it was crucial for a restaurant’s survival.

The two of them discussed carefully for a while before finalizing some matters.

Following Cheng Su’s instructions, Song Xiaojang procured quite a lot of mooncakes, with each person receiving a box containing four, to mark the festival. Additionally, they would have special dishes on the Mid-Autumn Festival, as part of the celebration.

The factory side was the same; everyone received welfare, and naturally, they were all very happy. They had never gotten such gifts while working before.

At the fast food shop, Cheng Su personally went there because Qi Fenglian needed to go back home to deliver festival gifts and would return to work after the holiday.

”This is the welfare Joy Soon Loy employees deserve, one for each person. Big sister, you should take one too!” Cheng Su handed over a box of mooncakes with bean paste filling, with oil soaking through the paper.

”Each person gets one? How much does this cost!” Qi Fenglian exclaimed.

”It’s the Mid-Autumn Festival, there are stories of emperors celebrating with their people in ancient times. Now I’m the boss celebrating with employees, it’s also about having fun,” Cheng Su laughed.

In her heart, Qi Fenglian thought, you’re using money to buy happiness!

Cheng Su also took out those prepared for her hometown for her to bring back, saying: ”Tell your family that we might only have time to go back for New Year with Qi Taiguo.” Since Third Uncle Cheng was also returning home, he was entrusted with bringing the share for her side of the family.

”Okay.” Qi Fenglian accepted it and asked, ”How’s your thing going?”

”What?”

”The matter of building a new restaurant, I heard building one would be three or four stories and cost tens of thousands. Do you have that much money?” Qi Fenglian was incredulous: ”Actually, Joy Soon Loy’s business is doing well, why bother building more?”

This was a matter of vision. Qi Fenglian was focused only on the immediate good, unable to see her future prospects, while Cheng Su’s vision extended beyond.

Cheng Su didn’t want to say much, so she lowered her gaze and said, ”I’ll discuss with Taiguo once he’s back before deciding.”

Qi Fenglian breathed a sigh of relief and said, ”That’s right, that’s right. You two should discuss thoroughly before taking action.”

”Hmm!”

Qi Fenglian looked at her, hesitating to speak.

”What’s wrong?”

”Nothing. I’m just asking, for so many stores, you’re only using Song Xiaojang for procurement?” Qi Fenglian pulled her aside and asked, ”Is he reliable? After all, he’s an outsider.”

What does this question mean? Does she want someone else to handle procurement?

”Big sister, trust those you use, and don’t use those you doubt. Song Xiaojang is capable, I trust him.” Cheng Su said calmly.

Qi Fenglian was blocked by her response, feeling a bit awkward, and said, ”Well, as long as you think it’s fine!”

”Why, does big sister think someone could do it better?” Cheng Su deliberately joked.

How could Qi Fenglian dare say anything? She quickly waved her hand and said, ”Ah, no. I was just asking, worried you’re young and might get tricked. I was overthinking, you’re capable enough to judge people right? By the way, do you need any specialties to take home...”

She changed the subject, making Cheng Su feel even more suspicious. This sudden inquiry about procurement—was there some intention behind it, or was she just overthinking?
