Summoners: One Golden Term per Level

Chapter 116: Chapter 116: The Demon’s Scheme

”Then I’m coming over now.”

Shen Fei called Liu Wentao as soon as he got home, after all, Liu was responsible for guarding the Abyss Edge and knew the most about Abyssal Creatures.

”Su Muyu, I’ll first go complete this mission. Better not to drag it out too long.”

”Okay. Are you confident?”

Su Muyu heard that Shen Fei’s First Transformation mission was to kill a Tier Five Abyssal Commander. Is this Hell Difficulty?

If she got this mission at level 30, she wouldn’t even dare to guarantee she could complete it.

It might take some preparation.

But considering her husband’s strength, it didn’t seem that hard.

”It’s not too difficult. If all goes well, I should be back by noon tomorrow.”

”Alright.”

Su Muyu nodded slightly, planning to make dinner when Shen Fei returned.

Shen Fei stepped outside, transforming into a streak of spiritual light shooting toward the city gates of Shencheng City. As usual, after the inspection outside the gates, two Breaking Abyss Army guards saluted him: ”Greetings, Vanguard Officer!”

”Hmm!”

Vanguard Officer is a special title, only given to those in the Breaking Abyss Army who have received the Vanguard Medal. Frankly, Shen Fei wasn’t sure of the exact requirements to earn it.

It was given to him by Meng Zhengguo that morning.

As for the other reward, since it’s Legendary Level, it requires two or three days of arrangements. Shen Fei wasn’t in a rush, as he could only contract a new Summoned Beast after his First Transformation.

The familiar dim environment appeared before Shen Fei’s eyes once more.

”The Abyssal Breath is getting thicker.”

Having experienced the Abyss, Shen Fei was becoming more accustomed to this type of environmental change. The dimness of the sky indicated a worsening Abyssal Breath invasion.

If it’s not dealt with, the Abyss could very likely erode Shencheng City entirely.

But he remembered that he had already purged this Abyss Edge once before, based on the principle of Abyss Edge erosion.

The last time, the decrease in Abyssal Creature numbers on the third and second layers had significantly thinned the Abyssal Breath in these areas.

Yet now it’s increased again?

’Could there be a problem with the fourth and fifth layers?’

As Shen Fei pondered, the figures of the Empress and others reappeared, her control of spiritual light enveloping everyone. After mastering the ”Great Yin Yang Skill.”

The Empress’s mastery of ”Five Elements Great Escape” had evolved into the ”Heaven and Earth Escape Technique,” with the Empress borrowing power from all of Heaven, Earth, Yin, Yang, and the Five Elements.

A moment later.

The defensive line of Shencheng City appeared before Shen Fei once again. Entering the camp, Liu Wentao came to greet him immediately upon receiving the message. Seeing Shen Fei, he breathed out relief, ”It’s good you’re here, thank goodness you came.”

”What’s happened?”

Seeing Liu Wentao’s expression, Shen Fei realized that the situation on the Abyss Edge was not as simple as he had imagined. Normally, with Liu Wentao’s strength, unless facing a Tier Five Abyssal Creature, he wouldn’t have shown such an expression.

It was even possible that it involved a formidable individual among the Tier Fives.

Indeed, it was true.

Shen Fei heard that a Tier Five Abyssal Creature had crossed over, ”So it’s the Fifth Area that has the problem?”

”Yes, in the past, the Fifth Area only had at most Tier Four Abyssal Creatures, and they weren’t very strong and were under surveillance.

But this time, the Abyssal Energy Level is extremely strong, most likely a Tier Five Abyssal Creature, possibly even a strong one among them.”

”I’ll go take a look.”

Shen Fei nodded. Whether for his mission or for the sake of Shencheng City, he definitely needed to make the trip.

But it was uncertain if this Tier Five Abyssal Creature was a commander.

”I’ve dispatched a team to follow behind. This time a Tier Five Abyssal Creature has crossed over, and it’s not just a matter of Abyssal Creatures, but also the previous Demon issue.”

”I didn’t expect that the demons caught last time in Shencheng City were just small fry. There are bigger ones in the mix.” Liu Wentao frowned tightly.

All this time.

The activity of demons in the vicinity had become increasingly frequent. It used to be that demons avoided detection by the Breaking Abyss Army, and their actions were very covert.

But suddenly they were found in so many instances, even throwing out some members to distract them.

It’s clear how significant their operations are.

In fact.

It’s possible that expanding the Abyssal Passage was one of their plans.

”Hmm.”

Shen Fei nodded, ”Then there’s no time to lose, I’m heading out now.”

”Good! These are the coordinates of the energy dissipation in the Fifth Area. If you don’t have the confidence, retreat immediately. I’ve already sent a request for assistance to the Nanyue District Breaking Abyss Army.”

”You are our hope.”

Liu Wentao reminded him solemnly.

Shen Fei’s importance exceeded that of killing this Tier Five Abyssal Creature. Even the entire city’s value might not match Shen Fei’s.

Shen Fei nodded to show his understanding.

If it’s nothing out of the ordinary, Tier Five shouldn’t be much of a problem, but hearing about demons causing trouble in the mix.

Shen Fei remained cautious.

First target.

If it’s a commander-level Tier Five Abyssal Creature, eliminate it immediately to complete the elevation, acquire ”Purifying Body” and equip the Star Summoning Set.

His margin for error would greatly increase.

Even if not,

with the recently enhanced combat strength of Vast Heaven Daoist Venerable, if those demons used his performance on the abyss in the college examination as a benchmark.

It would only disappoint them.

They need to know what it means to be overpowered!

With that thought concluded, Shen Fei and the others transformed into streaks of spiritual light and rushed towards the area specified by Liu Wentao, only after Vast Heaven Daoist Venerable left the defense area did he unlock his body size.

The Kunpeng Divine Form was activated.

The giant was back!

...

Fifth Area.

A colossal altar, with blocks of Pollution Cores on the altar.

If Liu Wentao were here, even a battalion commander who had been stationed here for a long time might feel terrified.

There were too many Pollution Cores.

Enough to turn the second and third areas into the Fifth Area, and yet here were so many!

And around the altar stood numerous silhouettes, among them one figure kneeling at the center of the altar.

”He has set out. Priest Bi!” one person with exceptionally large ears moved slightly, speaking up.

”Hmm.”

The elderly man referred to as Priest Bi gazed intently at the person kneeling in the center of the altar.

Priest Bi, wearing an embroidered priest’s robe, his cuffs adorned with a plethora of eyes, with crane-like hair and a youthful complexion, maintained a calm demeanor, though his eyes were thoroughly tainted with black.

Hearing the words of the person beside him, he nodded slightly.

”The primary goal is to capture, killing is secondary. He has the potential to become a Great Monarch. If he is willing to join the Abyss, there’s a strong possibility of him advancing to Abyss Monarch potential!”

”Abyss Monarch?”

The others were surprised by Priest Bi’s recognition of Shen Fei’s worth.

”Go prepare. Use the Tier Five as bait this time. Success is the only option.”

”Priest, what if Liu Wentao prevents Shen Fei from coming?”

”Adapt to circumstances, directly summon the Abyssal Army to occupy Shencheng City!

This was the original plan anyway, but Shen Fei’s value surpasses that of a single city, hence the shift in target to Shen Fei.” Priest Bi stated calmly.

”Understood.”
