Forty Millenniums of Cultivation

”It’s nothing. Just chill. All in all, you only need to trust me like you trust God Pangu. I’ll take care of everything.”

Li Yao said, ”Now, do you recall anything weird that happened recently?”

”Anything weird?”

Tang Ka thought for a moment and mumbled, ”I think so!”

”Oh? Really?”

Li Yao grew excited. ”What is it? Please tell me!”

”During the day, my monitor, who had been cold and pious, suddenly dragged me to an empty supermarket and took off her clothes, before she told me that she believed that the Ultimate Benevolence Masters were wrong.”

Tang Ka said, ”Then, I had this most absurd dream at night where my monitor was whipped in a red dress. When I was half asleep and half awake, some of my sticky life essence gushed out, and when I was overwhelmed, an extraterrestrial devil who called himself a good guy entered my head.. Are these things not weird?”

”… Fine, kid. I know that you’re been greatly shocked today. Otherwise, I couldn’t have entered into your head when your soul was weak and disordered.”

Li Yao could only make other plans. ”Let’s just take our time. Whatever scheme is behind this ultimate test, you have to learn to control your feelings and hide my existence. You must prevent anyone from discovering any anomaly in you.

”I don’t want you to play a hero. Really, before my arrival, I didn’t know whom I would possess. If you were a rude and hideous man, I might feel less guilty and would make the best use of you without hesitation. But I don’t want to ruin the future of a fourteen-year-old young man who had his first wet dream only last night.

”Therefore, even if there is really any scheme, I wouldn’t force you to reveal it or change anything. It’s hard. It’s too hard. I only hope that you will not be changed by the world and that you can keep your thinking and your emotional abilities.

”Do you get it? If everything goes well, I’ll find a more suitable platform within three days and leave your body, but of course, I will give you a little something before my departure. However, we must be very prudent until then.

”Now, fully cover yourself with your quilt and raise your wrist crystal processor so that I can see it more clearly. Then, relax and imagine that you’re in a warm ocean where your veins and your cells are stretching out comfortably. Let me take control of everything…”

”What are we doing?”

Tang Ka covered himself and raised his wrist crystal processor before he asked curiously.

”Didn’t you say that a chip that can monitor your biophysical changes was embedded in this? Since your biophysical parameters are likely to change drastically in the coming days, maybe I can adjust your wrist crystal processor so that it would be less… sensitive,” Li Yao explained.

Then, his soul sprawled out and grew quickly like a vein that was quickly splitting apart in the young man’s body.

”This is—”

Tang Ka’s eyes popped out as he had never had such a feeling before. ”I feel that ten thousand worms are slithering in my body. I’m so hot! No, I’m so cold! Ah, so itchy!”

”Forgive me, but it’s my first time too. I’m trying to control your nerve endings and your muscle fibers so that my soul can take over your body harmoniously.”

After a brief silence, Li Yao continued, ”Would you please stop making those weird noises? Damn it. I really do not know which is more perverted now, to invade a man’s body or a woman’s!”

”I… I’ll try… Ah!”

Tang Ka couldn’t help but groan with disbelief beaming out of his eyes. He didn’t do anything, but his hands were moving agilely under the control of an uncanny power.

In his class, Tang Ka, as a member of Metal, was famous for the stability and fastness of his hands. It only took him half an hour to complete the maintenance work that his classmates would take hours to do.

However, even when he was in his best state, Tang Ka had never seen his fingers dancing so elegantly and accurately!

He felt that his fingers had turned into ten streaks of light that gathered into a silver ball of light. His eyes couldn’t keep up with his fingers at all, and he could only watch the gestures and the runes created by the light ball, which lingered for a long time in the air.

”This… This is too fast. It’s unbelievable! This is even more awesome than the work of the strongest Metal mentors in the Holy Light Academy! Are they really my hands?”

Tang Ka was shocked.

”This is way too slow. It seems that your body is slightly rejective of my soul, which significantly reduces my speed. It’s been a very long time since I maintained and modified anything at such a low speed. I almost forgot how it felt,” Li Yao complained.

”Huh?”

Tang Ka didn’t know what to say. ”Are… Are you serious?”

”Of course I am!”

While talking, Li Yao tapped Tang Ka’s portable crystal processor with one finger. Or at least in Tang Ka’s eyes, he did nothing but a tap.

But then, his portable crystal processor fell apart without a sound!

Tang Ka’s eyes bulged. He was going to remind this mysterious and powerful Grandpa Yao that the alarm system on his crystal processor would automatically send a message to his mentors when it could not sense his breath or heartbeat due to external damage or system malfunctions when he noticed that the portable crystal processor that had been dismantled into hundreds of components was still running around his wrist under the boost of a gentle but sticky power!

It was the rarely-seen ”hot maintenance” technique, which could change the component on a piece of magic equipment or upgrade it without disrupting it. When hot maintenance was done, the magic equipment’s performance would change greatly without being restarted.

A mentor in the academy had described it to the students, including Tang Ka, before. He said that it was an extremely rare technique that only the real blessed ones could possibly awaken.

Little did Tang Ka expect that he would see an extraterrestrial devil performing such a technique one day!

”It’s true that the Covenant Alliance is more advanced than the Imperium in terms of technologies in certain domains!”

While commanding Tang Ka’s right hand to move the hundreds of components, Li Yao studied them with great interest. ”Very advanced privilege technologies have been adopted even though this is only a portable crystal processor for teenage students. If it were in the Imperium, probably only the officers above a certain rank would have the privilege to use such portable crystal processors.

”But is it also a proof that you’re much more dependent on the Spiritual Nexus and crystal processors than the Imperium people are? How interesting. Let me study this immaculate structure…”

Shua! Shua! Shua! Shua!

A hundred structural designs suddenly appeared on Tang Ka’s retina. He read them, only to discover that they were all for his portable crystal processor.

Every design was vivid and consisted of the tiniest details.

”Let me see. Ah. Here’s the chip that monitors biophysical parameters. It’s not hard to block it. But as a result, you would be utterly unemotional, which would likely expose you too. So, it seems more reasonable to reduce its sensitiveness by 50%.”

Li Yao said, ”Focus, kid. Imagine that your hands are melted in the air like ice melting in warm water. That’s right. Just like this…”

Tang Ka suddenly felt excruciating pain in his right hand.

It was not ice melting in warm water, but more like ice melting in magma.

He could even smell the scent of his skin and his flesh being burned. He was about to cry out in pain when the dismantled wrist crystal processor suddenly returned to his left arm in one piece in the blink of an eye!

Had it not for the agony on his right hand that was caused by high-speed frictions with the air, he would almost suspect that everything just now had been his illusion!

”Are… Are you done?”

Tang Ka asked, finding it hard to believe, ”What kind of speed was that?”

”The speed of a snail. There’s nothing I can do. Your hands are too fragile. They aren’t like a pair of hands that belongs to a refiner at all. I fear that your fingers would’ve been broken if I were a little bit faster.”

Pondering for a moment, Li Yao said, ”I have a secret technique for hands training that I can teach you. I guarantee that you can do anything you want with your hands after you get the hang of this technique.

”However, first things first. I’ll teach you how to control your feelings and how to manage your breath, your heartbeat, and your micro-expressions, which tend to leak what you’re thinking.

”I think that even in a sh*thole like the Covenant Alliance, as long as you learn to hide your thoughts deeply, there’s always going to be a way for you to avoid the so-called ’purging’ and keep your real self.

”Now, focus your attention, sense your brain, remember all the nerves and veins in your head, and imagine that cold water is flowing from the top of your head to every vein and every nerve in your body…”
