The Villian Who Broke The Story
Chapter 151: The Veiled Lady · Oct 09, 2026
Chapter List (151)
Lilith could be seen kneeling in front of a woman in a dark room.
The room was almost completely silent, illuminated only by a few dim lamps positioned along the walls. Shadows stretched across the floor, making it difficult to see the woman clearly. Her face was hidden behind a dark veil, leaving only her eyes visible.
Lilith, meanwhile, was dressed in a tight-fitting black suit. Her clothes were stained with dirt, and several smears of blood could be seen across her face. She was panting heavily, clearly exhausted from whatever mission she had just completed.
The woman sitting before her calmly looked down at her.
”So, how did the mission go?”
”Completed,” Lilith replied coldly.
She reached behind herself and dropped something onto the floor.
A severed head rolled across the dark floor before eventually coming to a stop at the veiled lady’s feet.
The woman glanced down at it without showing any reaction.
”Good.”
She slowly leaned back.
”Now that that’s dealt with, you can return to the academy and begin preparations for our plan.”
Lilith remained silent.
The Veiled Lady studied her for several seconds before narrowing her eyes.
”I hope you aren’t compromised.”
Her eyes gleamed beneath the veil as she stared directly at Lilith.
”No,” Lilith replied coldly.
The Veiled Lady’s expression remained unchanged.
”I’ve already heard about the death of one of our members. Sean.”
Lilith’s eyes remained emotionless.
”I received the report from your superiors, but I want to hear your side of the story.”
Lilith was silent for a moment.
”Well, he was a nuisance.”
That was all she said.
The Veiled Lady’s eyes twitched.
”Is that all you have to say?”
”Yes.”
Lilith didn’t bother elaborating.
The atmosphere inside the room became increasingly tense.
The Veiled Lady stared at Lilith, her fingers slowly tightening around the armrest of her chair.
This bitch.
Her thoughts were filled with anger.
She’s clearly compromised.
There was only one explanation she could think of.
That Draven boy.
Ever since Lilith had become involved with Kael Draven, her behavior had gradually changed. Before, Lilith had been one of the most reliable members of their organization. She followed orders without hesitation and completed missions with frightening efficiency.
But now?
She was beginning to question orders.
She was becoming emotionally attached to someone outside the organization.
And, worst of all, that someone was Kael Draven.
The Veiled Lady had already heard enough rumors to understand just how dangerous that boy could become.
Before she could continue her interrogation, another voice suddenly came from behind her.
”Don’t you think that’s enough interrogation for one day?”
The Veiled Lady’s eyes widened slightly.
She immediately turned toward the entrance.
Madam Seraphina Draven stood there.
Her expression was calm, but the pressure coming from her body was anything but calm.
”You... What are you doing here?”
The Veiled Lady’s voice contained a hint of disbelief.
Seraphina stepped into the room without bothering to answer immediately.
”Well, you see, Lilith and I have a lot to talk about.”
She glanced toward Lilith.
”And you’re seriously annoying me by keeping her cooped up here with your silly mission.”
”Seraphina!”
The Veiled Lady suddenly shouted.
”Heh.”
Seraphina smiled.
The temperature in the room immediately began to drop.
A thin layer of frost slowly formed across the floor.
”You should be thankful that I haven’t started a war with the The Creed for spying on my son.”
Seraphina’s voice remained strangely calm.
”And before you misunderstand, I gave Lilith an assignment. I would like her report on that assignment.”
She took another step forward.
”And you don’t want to get in my way.”
Seraphina narrowed her eyes.
”Or do you?”
Her aura leaked from her body.
The pressure was overwhelming.
Lilith instinctively lowered her head.
The Veiled Lady clicked her tongue.
For a moment, it seemed as though she might actually challenge Seraphina.
But eventually, she shifted her gaze away.
”You can take her for all I care.”
The Veiled Lady then looked down at Lilith.
”But Lilith...”
She paused.
”I hope you know your place.”
Lilith’s expression didn’t change.
Seraphina, however, simply smiled.
”Come on, Lilith.”
She turned around and began walking toward the exit.
Lilith immediately followed.
The moment they left the room, her cold expression disappeared.
Her shoulders relaxed, and she became visibly timid.
Seraphina noticed the change but said nothing.
Inside the room, the Veiled Lady remained standing.
Her hands were clenched into fists.
”That bitch...”
She slowly sat back down.
”How did she get her hands on someone with the Royal bloodline?”
Her voice was filled with frustration.
Yet after a few moments, she calmed herself.
There was still hope.
”At the very least, the other Demon King candidates are beginning their awakenings.”
A sinister smile appeared beneath her veil.
”If I play my cards right, I might be able to get my hands on the power of Demon Royalty.”
She leaned back in her chair.
”This game is only beginning.”
Meanwhile, Lilith was sitting across from Seraphina in a quiet room.
A cup of tea had been placed in front of both of them by Seraphina’s personal maid before she quietly left.
For the moment, the two were completely alone.
Lilith sat stiffly in her chair.
She wasn’t the same woman who had coldly answered the Veiled Lady moments ago.
Her fingers nervously moved around the edge of her teacup.
”So, Madam Draven...”
Lilith glanced up.
”Is there any particular reason you summoned me?”
Seraphina slowly observed her.
Her eyes traveled over Lilith for a moment before she sighed internally.
So this is the girl.
Seraphina had already heard plenty about Lilith.
She knew that Lilith was a half-demon.
She knew that she was connected to the Velvet Gang.
And, most importantly, she knew about her relationship with Kael.
Seraphina studied her carefully.
No wonder Kael fell for her.
Lilith certainly had a striking appearance, but what interested Seraphina more was the change in her demeanor whenever Kael was mentioned.
The normally composed and dangerous woman seemed to become completely different.
Seraphina finally took a sip of her tea.
”Nothing too important.”
Lilith blinked.
”Really?”
”Yes.”
Seraphina placed her cup down.
”I’m simply curious about your report.”
Lilith straightened slightly.
”While protecting my son, was there any threat to his life from the academy?”
Lilith stopped fidgeting.
She thought carefully before answering.
”Well... there was one.”
Her expression became serious.
”It was Sean.”
Seraphina’s eyes narrowed slightly.
”But I handled it.”
Lilith paused.
”There was also the incident in Velcrest City.”
Seraphina remained silent, allowing her to continue.
”However, since that was a Velvet Gang operation, there wasn’t any obvious threat to his life. At least, not directly.”
Seraphina nodded slowly.
”So Sean was the only person you considered an actual threat to Kael?”
”Yes.”
”And you killed him?”
”Yes.”
Lilith answered without hesitation.
Seraphina stared at her for a few seconds.
Then she sighed.
”Very well.”
Lilith relaxed slightly.
But then Seraphina asked another question.
”With all that said and done...”
She paused.
”Could you explain why you slept with him?”
Lilith froze.
Her face immediately turned bright red.
”W-Well... about that...”
She began fidgeting with her fingers.
Seraphina raised an eyebrow.
For someone who had just calmly discussed killing a member of the Velvet Gang, Lilith suddenly looked as though she wanted the floor to swallow her whole.
”I see.”
Seraphina leaned back.
”So you can kill someone without blinking, but asking you about Kael makes you nervous.”
Lilith lowered her head.
”It’s... different.”
”I noticed.”
Seraphina almost smiled.
Lilith remained quiet for several seconds.
”I love him.”
The words were barely above a whisper.
Seraphina had already known the answer, but hearing Lilith say it herself confirmed what she suspected.
”I know.”
Lilith looked up.
Seraphina’s expression became more serious.
”But I still plan on getting him engaged to Verdia.”
Lilith’s expression immediately fell.
”I don’t want you becoming too attached to him at the moment.”
”But...”
Lilith hesitated.
Seraphina raised one hand.
”Listen first.”
Lilith fell silent.
”I don’t know what the Velvet Gang is planning.”
Her tone was considerably more serious now.
”And because of my position, I can’t get directly involved without making things worse.”
Lilith understood immediately.
Seraphina wasn’t simply asking her to protect Kael because she was his mother.
She was asking her because there were things Seraphina herself couldn’t do.
”I want you to genuinely protect Kael this semester.”
Lilith looked at her.
”Not because you’re following an order from me, it’s best you don’t get distracted.”
She paused.
Her eyes hardened.
”Protect him because you love him.”
Lilith’s eyes widened slightly.
Seraphina continued.
”Whatever the Velvet Gang is planning, I don’t want Kael caught in the middle of it.”
Lilith slowly nodded.
”Okay.”
She clenched her hands together.
”I understand.”
Seraphina picked up her tea again.
”Good.”
Lilith lowered her gaze.
But inside, her thoughts were conflicted.
He was the one who came to me.
She remembered the events that had brought the two of them together.
Kael hadn’t been some helpless victim she had manipulated.
Their relationship had developed naturally, despite how complicated their circumstances were.
Lilith’s expression became slightly sad.
I never planned for any of this.
She had entered Kael’s life because of an assignment.
She had remained near him because of the Velvet Gang.
But somewhere along the way, those reasons had stopped mattering.
Now, protecting Kael wasn’t merely a mission.
It was personal.
Lilith looked up at Seraphina again.
”I’ll protect him.”
Seraphina studied her for a moment before giving a small nod.
”That’s all I wanted to hear.”
Outside the room, the academy awaited.
The new semester had begun.
