Harem Master: Seduction System

Chapter 372 372: In The Desert

The transition from the Northern Prefecture to the Western Desert was not gradual. It was a violent, jarring shift in reality, as if the world itself had been sliced in two by a godʼs blade. One moment, the air was crisp, biting, and filled with the scent of pine and snow; the next, the horizon bled into a shimmering, endless expanse of ochre and crimson.

The Tagor Desert. A land where the sun didnʼt just shine; it ruled with a tyrannical, scorching fist.

The sleek black flying shuttle Alaric piloted cut through the boundary layer, the sudden thermal updrafts buffeting the hull. Outside the protective barrier, the temperature skyrocketed. The air shimmered with heat haze, distorting the dunes below into fluid, moving waves of red sand.

Yun Lan stood on the deck, her hands gripping the railing. For the first time in decades, the Ice Master looked uncomfortable.

Beads of sweat, glistening like diamonds, formed on her pale forehead and slid down the elegant curve of her neck. Her Ice Spirit Constitution, which made her a goddess in the north, was currently at war with the ambient Yang Qi of the desert. It felt oppressive, heavy, as if the air itself were trying to crush her frozen meridians.

”It is... hot,” she whispered, her voice tight. She pulled the hood of her desert cloak lower, trying to shield her face from the glare. ”The Fire Qi here... it is aggressive.”

”It is a furnace,” Alaric agreed, stepping up behind her. He didnʼt seem bothered in the slightest. His chaotic mana adapted instantly, and his physique, tempered by dragon blood and void energy, found the heat merely a pleasant change of pace.

He wrapped his arms around her waist, pulling her back against his chest.

”You are melting, my little snowflake,” he teased, his lips brushing the damp skin behind her ear.

”I... I am not used to this,” Yun Lan admitted, leaning into him, seeking the stability of his presence. ”My cultivation... it feels sluggish.”

”That is why you have me,” Alaric murmured.

He flared his aura. A sphere of translucent, violet-tinged energy expanded from his body, enveloping Yun Lan. It wasnʼt just a shield; it was an environmental filter. He transmuted the violent Fire Qi of the surroundings, stripping away the heat and feeding her a stream of cool, purified mana.

Yun Lan let out a sigh of pure relief, her body relaxing instantly against his. The oppressive weight vanished, replaced by the familiar, comforting scent of Alaric.

”Better?” he asked, his hands sliding confidently over the rough fabric of her cloak to find the curves beneath.

”Much better,” she breathed. ”You need me to keep you cool? No... I think I need you to keep me from evaporating.”

”I will always protect you,” Alaric promised, his voice low and possessive. ”Whether in the ice or the fire, you are mine to guard.”

He moved his hand, slipping it under the heavy cloak. Beneath the rough outer layer, Yun Lan was wearing what he had commanded—a set of ”desert attire” that would have given the elders of her sect a heart attack.

It was barely clothing. Two strips of sheer, black silk bound her massive breasts, struggling to contain their volume. A matching loincloth hung low on her hips, leaving her long, pale legs and her entire midriff exposed. It was a bikini, designed by Alaricʼs lustful imagination, hidden from the world by the cloak but accessible to him at a momentʼs notice.

His fingers traced the bare skin of her stomach, his thumb dipping into her navel.

”Are you wearing what I gave you?” he whispered.

”Yes, husband,” she replied, her face flushing, though in the heat, it was hard to tell. ”It feels... scandalous. To be so exposed.”

”In this desert,” Alaric said, squeezing her waist, ”clothing is just a suggestion. And besides... I like knowing that underneath this rough cloak, you are naked for me.”

They flew for another hour, the endless dunes rolling beneath them like a frozen ocean of blood. Finally, a jagged scar appeared in the landscape—a massive canyon of red rock that housed a sprawling, chaotic settlement.

Sandrock City.

It was a border town, a place where the laws of the Celestial Dragon Empire went to die. It was a haven for mercenaries, slave traders, beast hunters, and criminals fleeing justice. The buildings were carved directly into the sandstone cliffs or constructed from hardened clay, creating a labyrinth of shadows and dust.

Alaric landed the shuttle in a designated docking bay carved into a mesa overlooking the city. He paid the exorbitant docking fee to a scarred, one-eyed guard without blinking, tossing a bag of spirit stones that made the manʼs eye widen.

”Keep your head down,” Alaric instructed Yun Lan, pulling his own hood up to shadow his face. ”And keep that cloak closed. The men here are animals. If they see what you are hiding... Iʼll have to kill the whole city.”

Yun Lan nodded, clutching the edges of her cloak tight. ”I will follow you.”

They descended into the city. The streets were crowded, smelling of unwashed bodies, exotic spices, and roasted lizard meat. The language spoken here was rough, a dialect of the common tongue peppered with curses and slang.

Alaric moved with the confident swagger of a young master who knew his strength, his arm draped protectively—and possessively—around Yun Lanʼs shoulders. He steered them toward the largest, noisiest structure in the central district: The Scorpionʼs Sting Tavern.

If there was information to be had about the Snake-People, it would be here.

The tavern was a cavernous hall dug into the rock, lit by glowing fire-crystals and filled with smoke. Mercenaries sat at long wooden tables, drinking immense tankards of ale and gambling with bone dice. Dancers—scantily clad women of various races—gyrated on a central stage to the rhythm of heavy drums.

Alaric found a booth in the shadows at the back. He ordered a bottle of the strongest local wine and sat down, pulling Yun Lan onto the bench beside him. He kept her close, his thigh pressing against hers, his hand resting on her knee under the table.

He extended his spiritual sense, filtering out the noise of the drinking and the gambling, focusing on the conversations.

He heard talk of beast hunts. He heard complaints about the heat. He heard rumors of a new ruin opening in the south.

And then, he heard it.

Two tables away, a group of mercenaries were deep in their cups, their voices loud and slurring. They wore armor made from desert beast scales, and their weapons were notched from heavy use.

”Iʼm telling you,” one of them, a burly man with a braided beard, slammed his mug down. ”I saw them. Near the Whispering Oasis. Snake guards. Royal guards.”

”Bullshit,” his companion scoffed. ”The Snake-People never leave the Deep Earth Canyon. Especially not the Royal Guards. Queen Cai Wei keeps her tail on the throne.”

”Thatʼs just it!” the bearded man insisted, leaning in. ”It wasnʼt the Queen. It was a kid. A little girl.”

Alaricʼs eyes narrowed beneath his hood. He tapped his finger on Yun Lanʼs knee, signaling her to listen.

”A kid?” the companion laughed. ”Since when do snakes have kids? They lay eggs, donʼt they?”

”This one didnʼt look like a snake,” the bearded man said, lowering his voice to a conspiratorial whisper that carried perfectly to Alaricʼs enhanced ears. ”She had legs. Human legs. But she had those eyes... vertical pupils. And scales on her cheeks. Cute little thing, running around chasing sand-flies.”

”A half-blood?”

”Aye. A royal half-blood,” the bearded man nodded. ”The guards were terrified sheʼd trip and scrape a knee. I heard one of them call her ʼPrincessʼ. And... I heard the name. Feng Yuʼer.”

Alaric froze. A slow, predatory smile spread across his face, hidden by the shadows of his hood.

ʼFeng,ʼ he thought, the pieces of the puzzle snapping together with a satisfying click. ʼOf course. He left his mark. That arrogant protagonist planted his seed and then vanished into the wind to pursue his ”Dao”. He left a Martial King Queen to raise his bastard alone.ʼ

Beside him, Yun Lan stiffened. Her body went rigid against his.

”Feng...” she whispered, the name slipping out before she could stop it.

The timeline matched. Six years ago, Feng Xiao had come to the desert to find a Heavenly Flame. He had clashed with Queen Cai Wei. The rumors said they fought. But clearly... they did more than fight.

”Interesting,” Alaric murmured, pouring himself a glass of wine. ”So the Flame King has a legacy.”

He looked at Yun Lan. Her face was pale beneath her hood. Her eyes were wide, filled with a mixture of shock and a deep, resonating hurt.

She had given herself to Feng Xiao. She had thought she was special, even if their time had been brief. But now, learning that he had a child... a child he had never mentioned, with a woman he was supposed to be enemies with... it made her feel insignificant. Used.

”He never told you?” Alaric asked softly, twisting the knife.

”No,” Yun Lan whispered, her voice trembling. ”He... he never said a word.”

”Typical,” Alaric sneered. ”He conquers, he breeds, and he leaves. He is not a hero, Yun Lan. He is a locust.”

He finished his wine in one gulp and stood up, pulling Yun Lan with him.

”Come,” he said. ”We have heard enough. We need a room.”

He led her out of the tavern, leaving the mercenaries to their drunken gossip. They didnʼt know that their loose tongues had just sealed the fate of a kingdom.

Alaric rented the finest suite at the Red Sands Inn, a building that was surprisingly opulent for such a rough city. The room was decorated with exotic desert silks in vibrant oranges and reds, thick furs covering the floor, and a massive, low bed piled high with pillows. The air smelled of sandalwood and musk.

Alaric locked the heavy wooden door and activated a privacy array with a flick of his wrist. The sounds of the city outside vanished, leaving them in a bubble of silence.

He turned to Yun Lan.

She was standing in the middle of the room, still clutching her cloak, looking lost. The news of the child had shaken her more than she expected.

”So,” Alaric said, his voice cutting through the silence. ”Feng Xiao has been busy.”

Yun Lan looked away, staring at the intricate patterns on the rug. ”I knew they were... involved. Years ago. He stole her Green Lotus Core Flame, and she chased him across the desert. Then... the fighting stopped. Rumors said they reached an understanding.”

”An understanding,” Alaric laughed darkly. ”Is that what they call it? He bedded her. He impregnated her. And then he left her.”

He walked toward her, his steps slow and deliberate.

”He left you to rot in the ice,” Alaric whispered, circling her. ”He left you alone to die. While he has a family here in the sand. A daughter. A princess.”

He stopped behind her, his hands gripping her shoulders through the cloak.

”Does that make you angry, Yun Lan?”

”I...” Yun Lan swallowed hard. ”I... I donʼt know.”

”Liar,” Alaric hissed. He ripped the cloak from her shoulders, throwing it to the floor.

She stood before him in the scandalous black silk bikini, her pale skin glowing in the dim light, her massive breasts heaving with agitation.

”You are angry,” Alaric said, his hands sliding down her naked back to grip her waist. ”You gave him your purity. You gave him your heart. And he gave you nothing but silence. While here... he gave the Snake Queen a child.”

”I hate him,” Yun Lan whispered, the words tearing out of her throat. It was the truth. The jealousy, fueled by Alaricʼs constant manipulation and the revelation of the child, finally boiled over. ”I hate him! He lied by omission! He made me feel... special... and I was just another conquest!”

”Yes,” Alaric said, spinning her around and throwing her onto the bed. ”You were just a notch on his belt. But to me... you are everything.”

Yun Lan landed on the soft pillows, her hair fanning out around her. She looked up at Alaric, her eyes wet with tears of rage and betrayal.

Alaric stood over her, his eyes burning with a dark, sadistic lust. He began to strip off his clothes, tossing them aside until he stood naked, fully erect and imposing.

”Good,” he growled. ”Letʼs use that hate.”

He climbed onto the bed, crawling over her like a predator.

”We are going to hurt him, Yun Lan,” Alaric promised, his voice rough. ”We are going to take everything from him. We are going to take his woman. We are going to take his child.”

Yun Lan gasped, her eyes widening. ”Take... the child?”

”To make the mother submit,” Alaric said, grabbing the straps of her bikini top. RIIIP.

He tore the silk. The fabric shredded easily in his grip, exposing her breasts completely. They spilled out, heavy and pale, the nipples hard.

”He left his seed here,” Alaric snarled, burying his face in her cleavage, biting down on her soft flesh. ”So I will take it. I will raise his daughter. I will make his woman mine. And I will make you help me.”

He grabbed her bikini bottoms and ripped them away, leaving her completely naked.

He spread her legs and thrust into her.

”Ah!”

It was a powerful, angry thrust. There was no gentle foreplay this time. This was sex fueled by vengeance and dominance.

”If you disagree, Yun Lan...” Alaric panted, pounding into her, ”If you are soft... if you are weak... I will punish you. I will leave you here and do it myself.”

”No!” she cried out, wrapping her legs around his waist, pulling him deeper. ”Donʼt leave me! I am yours! Do it! Hurt him! Make him pay!”

”Thatʼs it,” Alaric growled, slapping her breast, watching the flesh ripple. ”Hate him. Love me.”

He twisted her nipples, making her scream in a mix of pain and pleasure. ”We will steal everything he loves. And we will do it together.”

”Yes!” Yun Lan moaned, her head thrashing. ”Take me! Use me to destroy him!”

The sex was violent, primal. Alaric dominated her completely, forcing her into positions that displayed her submission. He made her beg for it. He made her curse Feng Xiaoʼs name.

”Who owns this body?” he demanded, thrusting deep.

”You! You own it!”

”Who is the better man?”

”Alaric! Alaric is the only man!”

He finished inside her, flooding her womb, reinforcing the Soul Bind with a surge of dark, possessive magic. He held her down, pressing his weight onto her, grounding her in his reality.

”You are my accomplice, Yun Lan,” he whispered into her ear as the aftershocks faded. ”No going back now. Your hands will be as dirty as mine.”

”I donʼt care,” she whispered back, clinging to him. ”As long as you hold me.”

An hour later, the storm had passed, leaving a quiet, heavy atmosphere in the room.

Alaric lay on his back, one arm behind his head, the other playing idly with Yun Lanʼs naked body. He traced the curve of her hip, his mind already moving to the next phase of the plan.

”Cai Wei,” Alaric mused aloud. ”The Snake Queen. A Martial King. Strong. Proud. Devoted to Feng Xiao.”

Yun Lan rested her chin on his chest, her eyes dark. ”She is powerful. Her petrification gaze is legendary. And she controls the desert fires.”

”She wonʼt submit to force alone,” Alaric explained, his fingers circling Yun Lanʼs breast. ”A woman like that... she would rather die than betray her lover. She would blow up her own dantian before she let me touch her.”

He smirked. ”And if she dies, I donʼt get to play with her. I donʼt get the... satisfaction.”

ʼAnd I donʼt get the System rewards for conquering a Heroine,ʼ he added silently.

”So we break her,” Yun Lan said, her voice devoid of sympathy for the other woman.

”Exactly,” Alaric said. ”The child, Feng Yuʼer, is the key. She is the weakness in the armor. The scale that is reversed.”

”How do we get her?” Yun Lan asked. ”The Queen guards her closely. The mercenary said she had Royal Guards even in the oasis.”

”We create a distraction,” Alaric said, sitting up. His eyes gleamed with cunning. ”A massive one. Something that will force the Queen to leave the palace. Something that threatens her entire city.”

He looked at Yun Lan. ”You.”

”Me?”

”Yes. You are an Ice Master. In the desert. You are the antithesis of everything here.”

Alaric outlined the plan. ”We go to the Deep Earth Oasis. You will attack their outer perimeter. You will unleash a blizzard. Frozen Cloud Art: Blizzard of the Ninth Heaven.”

”A blizzard in the Tagor Desert?” Yun Lan frowned. ”It will consume enormous energy.”

”I will give you pills,” Alaric said. ”The point is shock. The Snake-People are cold-blooded. A sudden drop in temperature will cause panic. It will slow their guards. It will threaten their eggs.”

”Cai Wei will have to come out,” Alaric continued. ”She will sense your Ice Qi. She will recognize the threat. She will come out to fight you, thinking you are an old enemy come for revenge.”

”And while she is distracted fighting you...” Alaric grinned, a wolfish baring of teeth. ”I will slip into the palace.”

”I will snatch the girl,” he said. ”And once I have the girl... the Queen will do anything I say. Anything. She will crawl. She will beg. She will spread her legs if I tell her it will save her daughter.”

Yun Lan felt a twinge of morality prick at her conscience. Kidnapping a child? A four-year-old girl? It felt... low. Even for revenge.

”The child...” she hesitated. ”She is innocent, Alaric. We... we arenʼt going to hurt her, are we?”

Alaric saw the hesitation. He knew he had to smooth the edges.

He leaned down and kissed her, soft and sweet, distracting her with his touch.

”Of course not, my love,” he lied smoothly. ”We arenʼt monsters. We wonʼt hurt the little girl.”

He stroked Yun Lanʼs cheek. ”Think of it as... a change of custody. Feng Xiao abandoned her. Cai Wei is raising her in a war zone. We will take her. We will treat her like a little princess. I will give her toys, sweets, everything she wants. She wonʼt even know sheʼs a captive.”

”We will treat her like a daughter,” Alaric whispered, planting the seed. ”Our daughter.”

Yun Lan blushed. The idea of having a child with Alaric... even if it was stolen... appealed to a deep, primal part of her.

”Like... a daughter?”

”Yes,” Alaric said. ”We just need to put on a cruel act in front of the Queen. We need Cai Wei to think we are monsters so she submits. But in reality? The girl will be fine. Safer with us than in this snake pit.”

Yun Lan nodded slowly. It made sense. It was justified.

”Itʼs for us,” Alaric whispered, kissing her neck. ”To secure our power. To build our family. And to punish Feng Xiao for abandoning you.”

”He deserves it,” Yun Lan whispered back, her mind twisted into a knot of loyalty and rationalization.

”Exactly,” Alaric smirked.

He pulled the covers up over them.

”Now, letʼs rest. Tomorrow, we go hunting for a little snake.”

Yun Lan curled into his arms, closing her eyes. She dreamed of snow in the desert, and a little girl calling her mother.

Alaric lay awake, staring at the ceiling.

The plan was set. The distraction: An Ice Storm. The target: A child. The prize: A Snake Queen.
