Stronger by Paying Salaries and I Have 1 Billion Employees

Zhuxianzhuang Science and Technology Park, Building 8, first floor, Conference Room C03.

”Secretary Chai, we came all the way to Xucheng without any prior notice. Do you think Chen Yansen will agree to cooperate?”

A middle-aged man with a buzz cut, a long face, and black-rimmed glasses asked Chai Kai, who was beside him.

”Zhou Lai and Chunshen have been neighbors for thousands of years. We’re practically family. Chen Yansen has no reason to refuse us.”

Chai Kai lifted his gaze, his voice full of confidence.

That old coot Tang Lixin was not only snatching up commercial resources from Zhou Lai, but he was also hoarding agricultural support quotas. With no other choice, Chai Kai had been forced to personally lead a team to Chen Yansen’s doorstep to discuss a partnership.

After all, the online stores for agricultural products on Pinbei Mall weren’t limited to Chunshen. There were also fruits from Xiyue and greenhouse vegetables from Donglu, among others.

As long as Zhou Lai’s agricultural products could bring enough profit to Pinbei, the partnership would naturally fall into place.

”I never would have thought a small county could produce a true dragon. I’ve heard that Chen Yansen’s net worth is at least in the tens of billions. He might even become the richest man in Hua Country before he’s thirty,” another middle-aged man with a 70/30 side-part hairstyle remarked with a sigh.

”Stop calling President Chen by his full name. What if he doesn’t like it? This whole deal could fall through.”

”Right, right. Lao Huang is always the cautious one.”

Chai Kai smiled and shook his head. Only two people had come from the Zhou Lai State Central Bureau: himself and a staff member in charge of the agricultural products sector. The other six were the bosses of several leading agricultural companies.

Just then, the conference room door was pushed open from the outside.

Chai Kai and the others immediately fell silent. Forcing smiles onto their faces, they all looked toward the door in unison.

”Gentlemen, please follow me.” The Pinbei receptionist gave them a bright smile and gestured for Chai Kai’s group to follow her.

Chai Kai nodded slightly and filed out of the conference room with his men. After just a few steps, he saw a tall, handsome young man sitting in the lounge area not far away.

He looked to be around twenty, dressed in a white shirt, sitting comfortably on the sofa with a faint smile playing on his lips.

He showed no intention of getting up to greet them, nor did he seem inclined to make small talk.

Chai Kai leaned forward and quickened his pace, leading his group to stand before the young man.

Chen Yansen had long since established connections in the provincial capital; he could get Meng Yuanzhi on the phone with a single call.

This was an entrepreneur of a caliber he couldn’t afford to offend.

Chai Kai acted with extreme humility, a stark contrast to his usual demeanor, not daring to show the slightest hint of arrogance.

”Mr. Chen, please forgive our unannounced visit! Congratulations to President Chen’s Pinbei Mall for its incredible achievement of three billion yuan in sales during the 618 Grand Promotion.”

Chai Kai said with a flattering smile.

”You must be Mr. Chai? And how should I address these gentlemen?” Chen Yansen slowly rose to his feet, his inquiry calm and confident.

”Allow me to introduce them. This is Boss Huang of Yijia Rice Industry, President Zhao of Lan Bai Group, President Zhu of Chenlong Fried Snacks, President Wan of Chunong Animal Husbandry Breeding Factory...”

Chai Kai introduced them one by one, briefly mentioning each company’s core products.

With that, Chai Kai’s purpose was perfectly clear.

”Please, have a seat,” Chen Yansen said lightly.

Despite their titles of ’President this’ and ’President that,’ in his eyes, they were at best founders of C-list brands.

In their home turf of Zhou Lai, each of them might be a powerful local bully, but on Pinbei Mall, they were merely long-tail merchants with low production capacity.

And Pinbei’s CRM database had over 10,000 more merchants just like them.

Therefore, if it weren’t for their connection to Chai Kai, these men probably wouldn’t have even been able to meet the likes of Zhang Yifeng, Yuan Wei, or Li Hui. At most, a junior employee from the merchant operations department would have been assigned to receive them.

”President Chen, Zhou Lai and Chunshen are right next to each other. We may not be family, but we’re closer than family. I heard Pinbei has an agricultural support partnership with Chunshen. Well, the truth is, Zhou Lai’s agricultural products are just as rich. We have leading companies for categories like bean products, vegetables, fruits, dried and roasted nuts, grains, and oils.”

Chai Kai got straight to the point. However, while he expressed a desire to partner with Pinbei, he deliberately avoided mentioning traffic support. Clearly, his strategy was to approach the negotiation step-by-step, wanting to first secure a preliminary agreement to cooperate.

”Online and offline sales channels are very different. Pinbei has strict requirements for quality control, logistics, and after-sales service. I’m sure you’ve heard, Mr. Chai, about the merchants who were fined into bankruptcy by our platform for selling inferior products. I suggest you all think it over carefully before considering whether to join Pinbei.”

Chen Yansen said unhurriedly.

He had neither refused nor agreed, but his words carried a veiled warning.

The men looked at each other, their hearts sinking as they began to consider his words seriously.

”President Chen, I have no problem with that. Chenlong Fried Snacks’ sunflower seeds, peanuts, and nuts have been best-sellers in Zhou Lai for over twenty years. I’m confident my products can win over customers in other regions too.”

President Zhu of Chenlong Fried Snacks was the first to declare his position. As he spoke, he even took four half-pound bags of his roasted snacks from his bag, offering them to Chen Yansen to sample.

’In his view, if those chicken and duck farmers and vegetable growers from Chunshen could master e-commerce, how could he, a man who had scraped and clawed his way through the business world for decades, be any worse than a bunch of country bumpkins?’

”President Chen, these are our factory’s colorful fruit and vegetable noodles. We focus on the concept of nutrition and health.”

”President Chen, these are our company’s lotus seeds, lotus seed hearts, and salted duck eggs. Please try them when you have a moment.”

”President Chen, these are from our factory: tofu skin, flavored dried tofu, fresh products, fermented bean curd...”

Spurred on by President Zhu, the one-meter diameter round table was instantly covered with all sorts of samples.
