Chapter 1140: Purchase of artifacts

After finishing the conversation with his family, Idan went out onto the terrace and settled into his favorite armchair.

“System, show me the artifacts available for purchase that can determine the innate element of a creature,” he asked.

The system reacted instantly, producing a small list of various artifacts with different uses.

[Based on your thoughts, this System recommends that you pay attention to the following two artifacts]

From the suggested list, System identified two artifacts that, in its opinion, were the most suitable for Idan.

The first artifact was a sphere the size of a soccer ball on a stand.

——————–

**Identification:**

Name: The Sphere of Innate Response

Rarity: Ordinary

Quality: Golden

**Description**

A perfect transparent sphere mounted on a bronze stand, inside which a barely discernible mist of all colors swirls, creating an atmosphere of mystery.

**Abilities**

*Determination of innate affinity with an element*. When a mortal touches the sphere, the mist, consisting of many colors, acquires a certain hue and effect that reflects the innate affinity of the creature.

The stronger this affinity, the brighter and more stable the color.

If it is weak, then only a cloudy reflection can be seen inside the sphere.

——————–

The cost is 300 System points.

——————–

“Hmm… not bad,” — Idan thought, appreciating the first artifact. He met all the requirements he imagined.

Then his gaze shifted to the second artifact.

——————–

**Identification:**

Name: The Mirror of the True Root

Rarity: Rare

Quality: Daimond

**Description**

This rare artifact is designed to determine the affinity of the elements for cultivators. It has the shape of a small round disk in a dark metal frame. Inside the disk is a motionless black water, resembling a bottomless pool.

Blood essence is required to activate the artifact. When a drop of essence touches the surface of the disc, circles spread through the water, and then the pool changes its color and shape, revealing the true affinity of the owner of the blood to one of the elements.

**Abilities**

*Determination of innate affinity with an element*. This ability allows you to identify the true innate affinity of the cultivator with the element, distinguishing it from the acquired one.

The brightness, depth, and stability of the color reflect the purity and strength of this affinity.

The artifact not only defines the element, but also its various variations.

——————–

The cost is 1000 System points.

——————–

“System, you are incredible!” exclaimed Idan, without hesitation, choosing these two artifacts without even looking at the others.

“1300 System Points is not that much,” he said, making a purchase.

[The artifacts have been delivered to the Spatial Ring]

“Thank you, System,” — Idan said.

“So, I now have a way to determine the innate affinity. Now we need to think about how to break the bond between the Contractor and the Patron, and preferably do it without notifying the Patron.”

This time, System beat him to it and offered several artifact options before he even had time to ask.

Unlike the previous time, System did not give any recommendations, and Idan had to carefully study all available options.

In the end, he settled on two of them and bought them both for 2000 System Points.

[The artifacts have been delivered to the Spatial Ring]

After finishing his shopping, Idan clapped his hands and, using his power over the Kingdom, began to look for his sister.

“Hmm… she’s not in the Kingdom? Maybe she’s in the dungeon?” he wondered.

Unable to find her, Idan moved to the darkest place in the Kingdom — the prison.

“Look who’s visiting us,” Sierra said, greeting Idan with her usual smile on her face.

“I’m very glad to see you too, Sierra,” Idan replied, greeting the Guardian of the Kingdom and the Warden of the Kingdom’s Prison.

“And what brings you here?” asked Sierra, teleporting Idan and herself to her private office located at the back of the prison.

“You’ve settled in pretty well,” — Idan smiled, looking around the room. Instead of a gloomy and dark room, he saw a pleasant, neat and bright room filled with various objects created on Earth.

Idan even noticed a small bar corner, where a variety of drinks were presented.

“I was finally able to take the time to look in here to find out how the prisoners are doing. How’s Christopher?” Have you managed to find a way to free the girls from his influence?”

By this time, Sierra had already managed to walk over to the luxurious dark sofa and, settling comfortably on it, crossed her legs.

“You mean your wife’s ex-fiance?” She asked with a sly smile.

“Yes, it was him, the former fiance of my wife and your younger sister,” Idan replied, sitting down opposite her.

“Yes, we’ve found a way and we’ve already freed all the girls,” Sierra poured herself a glass of red wine and took a sip.

“Did your little sister tell you? She was personally involved in arranging the girls outside of this place.”

“As for Christopher, he’s been having a lot of nightmares lately,” Sierra’s smile turned a little sinister.

It gave Idan goosebumps. It was obvious that Christopher was having more than his usual nightmares. And probably not without the help of Sierra and other prison staff who were creatures of darkness.

Idan decided to change the subject and, pulling out of the spatial ring, placed two unusual objects on the table.

The first was a short black blade without a guard, resembling a fragment of obsidian.

The second object looked like a spindle with an empty spool and a black needle.

Sierra showed interest in the unusual artifacts by placing the glass on the table.

“This is the Black Wedge of Rupture and the Spindle of a False Soul,” Idan said, looking up from his newly acquired items. He looked at Sierra.

“Both artifacts are designed to break the bond between the Contractor and the Patron.”

He then pointed at the black blade.

“This blade can only be used by the Contractor himself, who sees his connection with his Patron. He cuts the contract thread directly. The patron will immediately know about the breakup.”

Idan shifted his gaze to the second artifact.

“But this is a more difficult-to-use artifact. It pulls out a part of the Contractor’s soul, connects it to the contractual bond, separates the real Contractor and creates a temporary “Substitute Doll”. After the ritual, the spindle itself can be used again, but the doll remains with the Contractor and requires constant replenishment.”

Idan finished his explanation and, after waiting for a while, added:

“I want you to test them on captured Contractors and find out if it’s possible to restore your innate affinity with the elements after breaking the bond.”

“Oh!” a happy smile appeared on Sierra’s face at the sight of the new toys.

“And to determine the innate affinity of Contractors, use this,” Idan said, taking out a third artifact that resembled a pocket mirror — The Mirror of the True Root.
