Gu Xijiu answered the man briefly, but while doing so, felt a little guilty. She refused to help earlier because she could not trust him completely, as she was worried that he might be a potential enemy. She had to observe him for a while to know him better. In the end, she seemed to have overthought the entire situation.

With Gu Xijiu’s involvement, the battle became a sure-win situation. Approximately an hour later, Gu Xijiu was finally able to hurt Chinese Alligator in his right eye. The move was very tricky. It went through its right eye, cut through its brain, and went straight into its left socket! The Chinese Alligator’s left eye was its true weakness, but it often guarded it more carefully.

Gu Xijiu’s sword only managed to cut through its left eyeball from within, so its eye looked perfectly fine on the outside. The Chinese Alligator collapsed to the ground, like a mountain that had just been razed to the ground.

Finally, Gu Xijiu pulled out her sword. She panted heavily, trying to catch her breath. The beast’s head was enormous, and she had to put in a lot of effort to kill the creature. The man seemed exhausted too. His face was pale.

Nonetheless, before choosing to rest, he took a swift look around the Chinese Alligator’s dead body to observe the deadly wound that Gu Xijiu had caused to the beast. “Xijiu, did you hit its weak spot? Has it always been its right eye?”

Gu Xijiu dismissed him with a smile. “Perhaps. I was hitting it randomly like a blind cat catching a dead mouse in a dark room.” Before identifying the man’s background, Gu Xijiu did not wish to tell him the secret. Di Fuyi once told her to be more cautious of the people around her. It was hard to know their intention, so she had to be careful.

The man continued to study the wound. “Let’s retrieve the crystal!” Gu Xijiu quickly demanded. She leaped over the Chinese Alligator’s head and slashed its head wide open with her sword. Then, she went on to retrieve the lustrous red crystal hidden in its skull.

It was a class-two crystal, and Gu Xijiu removed it very quickly. The way she retrieved the crystal was very chaotic, leaving a huge mess behind, thus concealing the correct way of extracting the gem. The man did not intend to fight for the gem with her. “Xijiu, I am proud of you. Are you going to Luo Hua City?”

Gu Xijiu did not intend to keep the spiritual crystal for her own. After all, the man was the first to discover this Chinese Alligator. Hesitantly, she threw the spiritual crystal at him. “This is yours. You should have it.”

The man was shocked. “Xijiu, one spiritual crystal can guarantee the entry of 20 men into the city. We can use it together.”

“Haven’t you been to Luo Hua City? Where have you been?” Gu Xijiu took a look at the sword that the man was holding. It was the Three-Edged Sword, which was obviously meant for killing the Chinese Alligator. The rough edges were explicitly designed to wound the beast.

Gu Xijiu had seen the swords that Zhao Fengxing and his men used. Their swords were more or less the same, with the same three edges. However, the particular sword from the man seemed to be better. From there, Gu Xijiu could tell that the man had been here for quite a while.

The man responded with a tight smile. “It is a long story. I used to reside in Fan Ye City, but the governor was really mean. He did not allow me in the city, so I had to flee and try my luck at a new life in Luo Hua City. I have no companions, so I usually hunt alone. I did not expect to see you here. Xijiu, this is really destiny. After your disappearance at the Yaochi Tavern, I have been searching for you everywhere. My effort is not in vain. I finally found you today. Let us talk.”
