“Long Siye, do you have any news of Yun Yanli?” Gu Xijiu was still thinking of the prince since he was the first friend she met in the Upper Bound. Throughout these 200 years, Yun Yanli had always been beside her. Whenever she went to the Upper Bound to run errands, he would always be there when she needed him, helping her without complaint.

Long Siye heaved a sigh. “No…” He paused momentarily before continuing, “Xijiu, I have a feeling that he has met an unfortunate fate.” It was weird for a prince to disappear without reason for so long. Under such circumstance, it was most likely that he had met trouble.

Gu Xijiu closed her eyes for a second. “He is still alive!” Firmament Stone told her that the prince was still alive; it was only uncertain of his location.

Long Siye was puzzled. “Xijiu, how do you know?”

“I have my ways. All I know is that he is still alive.”

Long Siye swirled his cup of tea and gave off a soft sigh. “If he is alive but not seen, then there are two possibilities- he is trapped and unable to free himself, or he has lost his memories, forgetting that he was once Prince Yun Yanli.”

“I hope that he had lost his memories, because that way, he will not suffer as much. Supposing he has been trapped, once he manages to escape, seeing his family destroyed would be too much for him to handle.”

Gu Xijiu sipped her tea and was preoccupied with the question as well. She suddenly remembered something. “What about his sister?”

Long Siye responded, “His sister still lives in the old princess palace. She has been living quite a good life, not much different from how she used to live.”

Gu Xijiu was pleased with that answer. She knew that the princess was called Yun Yanhui. She was two years older than Yun Yanli. Bound by blood, the pair of siblings had a close-knit relationship.

Yun Yanhui was a genius at spells, and her external abilities are much greater than Yun Yanli’s. She was already a Mighty Immortal when they met. She spent most of her time learning spells, and tends to train alone; she would also seldom go outdoors and meet people.

A few years ago, Gu Xijiu bumped into her while with Yun Yanli. The princess was not good at socializing and seemed rather naive. When chatting with others, you would only hear her talking about spells. You could say that she was a nerd.

During that time, her parents were still around. She was carefree and could be oblivious to her surroundings. However, now that her family members were missing or dead, could she still be so ignorant?

Gu Xijiu subconsciously shook her head. She did not understand people who were solely engrossed in books; she did not want to either. In fact, Gu Xijiu was hardly interested in anything lately. She only asked for the sake of Yun Yanli. Learning that she was still living her life under good conditions had eased some of Gu Xijiu’s worries.

Gu Xijiu went on to ask about the daughter of the Mighty Immortal, Princess Ya. It was obvious that Long Siye was upset at the mentioning of her name. He just said with nonchalance, “When the Mighty Immortal was defeated that year, she was vocal in severing ties with her own father. Over the past couple of days, she has been latching onto the Might Immortal Ye; he was rather annoyed and did not even allow her to enter the palace. The only reason he did not kick her out was because of their past relationship. Essentially, she had turned into a joke for all three bounds, but still remained unabashed.”

The two continued to chatter over their meal, and gradually the night fell. Suddenly, a streak of colored light went up to the sky, followed by more lights. It was a vivid scene. Long Siye got up. “Xijiu, there are fireworks to celebrate the ascendance of a new Mighty Immortal. Let’s have a look!”
