Gu Xijiu had already made up her mind that if Di Fuyi would marry her, she would regard him as her only husband throughout her lifetime, and would not fall in love with any other man until her last day. She possessed a small heart that was only able to accommodate one person as her lover.

…

When Di Fuyi woke up, he realized that she was still in her initial sleeping position, curling like a kitten in his embrace. He was staring at her in silence; his pair of dark eyes were as dark as the night sky.

Their gazes met, and Di Fuyi lowered his head to kiss her on her lips. “Not asleep?”

Gu Xijiu buried her head in his embrace, and mumbled, “I just woke up.” She had been reluctant to fall asleep… He had left too little time for her. She could not bear to waste even one second. She did not want time to fly by wastefully in her sleep.

However, Di Fuyi was a smart man. He knew her well, and his heart ached! He kissed the side of her cheeks and said, “Shall we rest a little longer? I will hug you while you sleep.”

Gu Xijiu shook her head and buried her little face in his chest. She mumbled, “Fuyi, do you think that we… will have kids?”

Di Fuyi placed his palm on her little stomach and rubbed gently. “Let us wait for it to happen by itself.”

“Alright!” She nodded, desperate for a child.

She then chuckled. “I want to conceive a child to latch onto you! With a child, you will be reluctant to leave us…”

Di Fuyi rubbed her forehead in response, “Stupid! You are the person I am most reluctant to leave! It does not matter whether or not we have kids.” In his heart, she came first. Her position was unable to be substituted by anyone. He would never put her in the same position as he did before.

Di Fuyi brought his face closer to Gu Xijiu’s and asked, “Unable to fall asleep?”

She nodded. Di Fuyi’s body trembled a little. “Then, let us get up. I want to teach you the knowledge of stargazing…”

Gu Xijiu’s body froze for a while, and she squeezed herself into his embrace. “No… I am tired now.” Then she closed her eyes.

Di Fuyi was speechless, but he understood her intentions. She must be thinking that as long as she did not learn up all the skills of the Lord, God will increase his lifespan, at least by a little… How could it be so easy!? How could God’s plan be so easily interfered with?

The remnants of his days had been fixed, and no matter whether she was able to learn up everything, he would not be able to stay. If she were not able to pick up those skills, she would only suffer in the rest of her days.

He could not resist the urge and pulled her tightly into his embrace. “I will carry you there.”

Gu Xijiu became restless and pushed him away. “No! I am tired as hell! I want to sleep!”

Di Fuyi kept silent. He stared at her eyes and noticed her faint dark circles. Perhaps she really was tired.

His heart softened, and he pulled her back into his embrace again and patted her gently. “Alright, you sleep. I will hug you to sleep.”

“Will you sing a song?” Gu Xijiu requested.

Di Fuyi was stunned for a moment. “I cannot sing as well as you.” He was excellent with instruments, but his vocals were rather average. Di Fuyi tended to hide his weaknesses; hence, he never sang to her before.

“I want to hear you sing. It could be a lullaby.” Gu Xijiu was determined.

Di Fuyi did not want to disappoint her; hence, he looked for a song he was rather good at and sang it softly by her ear. He was singing a song once sung by Gu Xijiu.
