Reincarnation Of The Strongest Sword God

Chapter 3891 - Chapter 965 – Holy Ring City

Chapter 965 – Holy Ring City

....
“Boss Mad God!”

“Crap! How is this possible?!”

The Ominous Cavalry’s members couldn’t believe their eyes when they saw Solitary Mad God had gotten slammed into the ground.

They were well aware of Solitary Mad God’s strength. Although his combat standard had yet to reach the sixth-floor standard, he could already compete with Level 230 Ancient Saints in Strength and face a Level 230 Ancient Saint head-on. Even a Level 230 sixth-floor expert equipped with multiple Divine Artifacts wouldn’t necessarily be able to do better than him.

Yet, Shi Feng’s attack had overpowered Solitary Mad God. It had nearly even claimed his life…

Besides the Ominous Cavalry’s members, even Frey looked at Shi Feng in shock. She strongly suspected that her Grandmaster-ranked Observation Skill was defective.

According to her Observation Skill, Shi Feng was only equipped with Fragmented Legendary Equipment. He didn’t have a single piece of Taboo Fragmented Legendary Equipment on him. The only Divine Artifact he had equipped was a ring. Yet, he heavily injured Solitary Mad God. This was simply unbelievable.

While Frey was in a daze, Solitary Mad God straightened his upper body. At some point, he had fully unfurled the golden scroll in his hands. The scroll’s activation transformed him and the other Ominous Cavalry members into streaks of light that vanished from the resurrection camp.

“Hmph! And here I thought he had the strength to back up his arrogance!” Blue Phoenix scoffed when she saw Solitary Mad God fleeing without even lifting his head.

“It’s a pity we don’t have any means to interrupt his teleportation. Otherwise, we would have been able to annihilate the Ominous Cavalry once today,” Frey sighed, looking at the crater that Solitary Mad God was previously in.

“The teleportation tool he used should be a Divine Artifact. Without an incredibly powerful Godly Relic, it’d be impossible to interrupt it,” Shi Feng said, shaking his head as he recalled the golden scroll in Solitary Mad God’s hands.

In Shi Feng’s previous life, neither the powers of the human race nor the Holy Race could do anything against the Ominous Cavalry. Besides having multiple sixth-floor experts, another reason for this was that it had a powerful escape tool. The tool was rumored to be a Divine Artifact. If that was indeed the case, unless one had a powerful space-sealing Godly Relic or the ability to one-shot Solitary Mad God, nobody could stop Solitary Mad God from escaping.

“Regardless, it’s great that you could make it this time, Guild Leader Black Flame. Otherwise, we would have suffered much greater losses,” Frey said to Shi Feng as she scanned the resurrection camp, noting that they had suffered only a few hundred casualties.

Once players reached the standard of Level 230 Ancient Gods, even the ripples of their fight could kill non-elite experts under Level 235. Had her fight with Solitary Mad God dragged on, the damage to the resurrection camp would have been much more severe.

“I just happened to have returned to Shadowring Town,” Shi Feng said. When he noticed the haggard look on Frey, he asked, “You look tired, Miss Frey. Is the war among the three races not going as expected?”

Frey’s Concentration was already at the Tier 6 Limit standard. Unless she had suffered soul damage, the only other reason she would look tired was that she had been working without rest for a long time. Judging by her fight with Solitary Mad God, her soul was in perfect condition. Therefore, she hadn’t gotten any proper rest recently.

“No, that’s not why I’m tired,” Frey said, shaking her head. “The war is going well. We are still holding on for now. It’s just that Holy Ring City’s recent opening has intensified competition in the World Ark’s core area; we have been constantly clashing with the Holy Race over the city’s entry slots. The fact that the maps in the core area are Level 220-plus Taboo Maps doesn’t make things any better. These maps are crucial leveling spots for the various powers, so we cannot afford to give up any ground. This has led to many large-scale battles recently.

“It might not have been so bad if they were only normal battles; losing some levels and equipment would still be tolerable. However, the Holy Race occasionally mobilizes experts rivaling Level 230 Ancient Gods in strength. This has led to the permanent death of many of our geniuses. To address this problem, we had to mobilize our own Level 230 Ancient God-ranked experts.

“Currently, the human race is occupying five resurrection camps in the core area and has mobilized 24 Level 230 Ancient God-ranked experts. Excluding the three Ancient God-ranked experts needed to defend each resurrection camp, the remaining nine are tasked with assisting the teams operating in the core area. Although I am assigned to garrison the Blood Curse Resurrection Camp, I also have to move around providing emergency support since we’re stretched too thin in this region.

“Even then, it would have still been fine if that was all I had to do. The problem is that recently, the Holy Race has started to attack our resurrection camps in the core area. The last time the Blood Curse Resurrection Camp was attacked, the Holy Race mobilized six Ancient God-ranked experts. We only survived thanks to the Super-large-scale Great Grandmaster Magic Barrier we had erected over the camp. However, according to our latest intelligence, the Sun Dynasty and Evil Nature have transferred nearly 20 more Ancient God-ranked experts from the frontlines. By the looks of things, they seem intent on capturing all of the core area’s resurrection camps…”

Frey’s words caused Blue Phoenix to turn gloomy. Evidently, the human race was not doing well in the World Ark’s core area.

“Guild Leader Black Flame, I couldn’t get in touch with you before because Blue Phoenix told me you were doing an important quest, but now that you are back, I have something to request of you,” Frey said as she looked Shi Feng in the eye. “I hope you can get Purgatory Jade and her team to help us defend the Blood Curse Resurrection Camp.”

“It’s no trouble if you want only Zero Wing to help, but I can’t make any promises regarding Dragon’s Crown,” Shi Feng said, neither agreeing to nor denying Frey’s request. The Taboo Maps in the World Ark’s core area were crucial for Zero Wing’s members to level up. If the human race were to lose its resurrection camps in the core area, many of Zero Wing’s members would fall behind in levels. The human race would also lose access to Holy Ring City.

However, whether Dragon’s Crown’s members could provide timely assistance was up to luck. After all, he needed to get his hands on the second batch of Undying Souls as soon as possible. He couldn’t possibly delay summoning Dragon’s Crown’s members and miss redeeming the Flame God Set for the sake of defending a resurrection camp.

“It’s also fine if only you can help,” Frey said, nodding excitedly. “I’ll head back to the camp and inform Verdant Rainbow. Once the Holy Race makes a move, I’ll contact you right away.”

Previously, Frey had only considered getting Purgatory Jade and Kowloon Demon’s help, as they were sixth-floor experts. Although Shi Feng’s combat standard was also incredibly high, his equipment left much to be desired. In her opinion, Shi Feng would have difficulty fighting Level 230 Ancient God-ranked experts.

However, she changed her mind after witnessing Shi Feng heavily injure Solitary Mad God. His strength far exceeded her expectations. Even among the Ancient God-ranked experts operating in the World Ark’s core area, his strength was above-average.

“Okay.” After seeing Frey take her leave, Shi Feng had Blue Phoenix stay behind to tally Zero Wing’s casualties and hand out compensation while he returned to Shadowring Town.

…

On the other side of the World Ark, multiple streaks of light broke through space and time to land in the middle of a rainforest. When the lights faded, the figures of the heavily injured Solitary Mad God and the other Ominous Cavalry members appeared.

“Boss Mad God, only 23 of us made it out alive. Racket, Bull, and two others were caught in Black Flame’s attack and died,” Half Night, the Ominous Cavalry’s vice commander, reported tentatively.

“Black Flame!” Solitary Mad God’s gaze turned cold at the report. He realized that he had underestimated the human player named Black Flame. He had never expected the Ominous Cavalry to suffer such severe losses. “I will remember this! I will make Zero Wing suffer tenfold!”

“Boss Mad God, I’m afraid that might be difficult to accomplish. Black Flame’s strength is extraordinary. Even if we were to fight him with better weapons and equipment, it’s unlikely we can do anything to him,” Half Night said, fear coloring his eyes as he recalled Shi Feng’s attack.

“Upgrading our equipment might not do the trick, but what if I get a better Mount?” Despite his pale complexion, the arrogance and confidence on Solitary Mad God’s face remained clear as he stated, “We’ve accumulated a lot of merit points and money recently thanks to those three human Guilds. If we use everything to redeem a Tier 6 Legendary Flying Mount, Black Flame will no longer be my match!”

Half Night’s eyes lit up at these words.

What made the Holy Seal Cavalier Class powerful wasn’t just its Legacy Skills but also its ability to let players merge with their Mounts. The improvement a powerful Flying Mount could bring exceeded even that of one or two Divine Artifacts.
