The Billionaire's Heir I Never Knew Was Mine

Sienna and Skylar spent the afternoon together in his playroom on the third floor.

The room was bright and peaceful, with sunlight streaming through the large windows.

Skylar sat at his desk, completely focused on the laptop in front of him. His small fingers moved confidently across the keyboard while he adjusted colors, cropped images, and experimented with different editing tools.

Every now and then, he leaned closer to the screen to inspect a tiny detail before making another adjustment.

Sienna sat nearby, quietly watching him with a gentle smile. She couldn’t help noticing how much he had improved in such a short time. Compared to the first time she had seen him edit photographs, he now looked far more confident and comfortable with the software.

”Sky, you’re getting much better at taking photos and editing them,” she said, unable to hide the pride in her voice.

Skylar immediately stopped what he was doing and turned toward her with a bright smile.

”Thank you, Mommy.”

His eyes sparkled with happiness before he turned back to the laptop.

”Daddy invited a professional uncle to teach me editing,” he added proudly. ”He comes every week, and he teaches me lots of new things.”

Sienna smiled warmly. ”I can tell. You’re learning very quickly.”

”I practiced every day,” Skylar said proudly. ”Sometimes Daddy gets home late, but he still asks to see my new pictures.”

”Really?”

Skylar nodded enthusiastically.

”He always says, ’Show me your best photo today.’ Then he tells me what he likes the most.”

Sienna couldn’t help smiling even wider.

Although Zachary spent most of his days managing his enormous business empire, he never neglected Skylar. Somehow, no matter how busy he became, he always found time for their son. It was another reminder of the kind of father he was—someone who quietly gave Skylar every opportunity to grow without making it feel like an obligation.

”Oh, right, Mommy,” Skylar suddenly said, pulling her back from her thoughts.

”Yes, sweetheart?”

”Do you remember the picture I promised to print for you?”

”Yes... Of course.”

”I already printed this butterfly picture.” He excitedly picked up a printed photograph from the desk before handing it to her. ”And I printed the wildflower too. Oh, and this one!”

One by one, he proudly showed her several photographs.

”The large version will be ready in a few days and will be displayed on the wall in your home office,” he continued excitedly. ”This one can go in the hallway. Daddy’s office needs one, too...”

Sienna laughed softly. ”So you’ve already planned where all of them should go?”

”Of course.”

”Did anyone ask for your professional opinion?”

Skylar grinned mischievously. ”No.”

”And you’re decorating everyone’s rooms anyway?”

”Yes.”

She couldn’t help laughing.

Then, she leaned closer to examine it carefully. It was a familiar picture taken during their visit to Pine Mountain a few weeks earlier. A colorful butterfly rested on a cluster of wildflowers, while the mountains blurred softly in the background. The composition looked surprisingly balanced for someone his age.

”Wow...” she murmured sincerely. ”These are all my favorites, Sky.”

”They are?”

”They really are.”

She looked through the remaining photographs one by one. Every picture reflected Skylar’s patience and careful observation. Some captured flowers, others butterflies, birds, and peaceful landscapes. Looking at them made Sienna feel as though she were revisiting that wonderful day with him.

”Thank you, my son.”

Skylar beamed with happiness.

”You’re welcome, Mommy. They’re my present for you.”

She reached over and gently stroked his hair.

”I’ll treasure them.”

Satisfied with her reaction, Skylar happily returned to editing the rest of his photographs.

While Skylar was preoccupied with his editing work, Sienna picked up her iPad and began browsing the latest news. She casually scrolled through several headlines until one suddenly caught her attention.

It came from her hometown.

Her smile slowly disappeared as she read the first headline.

[ Juan Hayes, a Leading Businessman in Evercrest, Convicted of Murder. ]

Her eyes quickly moved to the next article.

[ Hayes Group’s Major Scandal Linked to the Black Scorpion Gang. ]

Then another.

[ Police Move to Crack Down on Black Scorpion Gang. ]

Another headline appeared immediately afterward.

[ Major Drug Dealer Uncovered in Evercrest! ]

And finally—

[ Illegal Online Gambling Operation Found to Be Run by Hayes Group. ]

Sienna’s fingers tightened around the edge of her iPad as she continued reading article after article.

’Oh my God...’

Her thoughts raced.

’Zach... you’re truly amazing. How could you expose him this quickly?’

She clearly remembered that Zachary had only learned about Juan Hayes a few days ago. Yet by this morning, everything had already collapsed around the man. His crimes had been exposed, the police had arrested him, and the entire country was talking about the scandal.

The speed of it all left her speechless.

A warm feeling spread through her chest as she remembered Zachary’s promise. He had calmly told her that Juan Hayes and everyone involved would be punished, and he had kept that promise almost immediately.

Without realizing it, she smiled.

She continued reading and found photographs of Juan Hayes being escorted away in handcuffs. Reporters crowded around him while police officers prevented anyone from getting too close.

The story had spread far beyond Evercrest. It was no longer limited to local newspapers. National news websites, television channels, and online media outlets were all covering the scandal.

Sienna looked quietly at one of the photographs.

’My father owed you money, not me. But you still chose to send people after me. You even tried to hurt me... Juan Hayes, you deserved this!’

Thinking about everything that had happened, she couldn’t bring herself to feel sorry for him.

Instead, a satisfied smile appeared on her face.

Justice had finally caught up with him.

After reading enough, Sienna closed every article related to Juan Hayes and the Black Scorpion Gang. She no longer wanted to think about that Chapter of her life.

She continued scrolling through other news instead.

Most of the entertainment headlines failed to interest her. One article talked about an actor winning an international award. Another promoted a newly released drama series. Others announced upcoming movies or celebrity interviews.

She absentmindedly closed one article after another until a familiar name suddenly caught her attention.

[ Jessica Simmons Returns to the Big Screen After a Years-Long Hiatus! ]

Sienna paused.

’Jessica Simmons...’
