Reborn as a Weak Beauty Pampered by All

Chapter 1113: Chapter 1099

With a suspicious look in her eyes, Huli stared fixedly at Fang Huai.

”Back then, when the young master was brought home by the master’s men, I accidentally overheard the young master arguing with the master, saying that Sumei was pregnant with his child, and that it was already a few months along. He demanded that the master let him bring Sumei back to the manor.”

Immediately, Huli’s eyes lit up: ”Why didn’t you tell me about this earlier?”

Fang Huai gave a bitter smile: ”What good would it have done to tell you? The master never allowed anyone to bring Sumei back, and even if he had listened to the young master and brought Sumei back to the manor, do you think the master would have kept a maid’s child?”

Upon hearing this, Huli was momentarily at a loss for words.

”Although the master values bloodline, not just anyone’s child is acknowledged as a Jiang Family descendant. In the master’s eyes, a maid’s status is lowly, and even if I am favored in front of the master,

it doesn’t outweigh Sumei’s status as a maid. Moreover... she broke the rules by having such a relationship with the young master. The master would be lenient not to have her beaten to death at first sight,

so how could he possibly let her give birth to the child in her belly? After so many years, you should have noticed as well. Even if the young master never married, the master urged him to wed but never forced the issue,

even though the young master still has no children, the master didn’t force him to take a wife to continue the Jiang Family line.”

”So why did you mention your daughter?”

”I was thinking, if by any chance Sumei gave birth to the child, and we could find the mother and child if we return to the country, perhaps the master might forgive our family because of the child.”

”You already said the master didn’t care about your daughter’s child, what makes you think he would care now?”

Huli frowned, waiting for Fang Huai to speak.

”It’s been over twenty years now, the young master has no intention of marrying, the master... the master can’t just sit by and watch the Jiang Family have no successor...”

This was what Fang Huai thought in his heart, his only hope of returning to the Jiang Family. So, even though the hope was slim, he wanted to give it a try... to see if he could return home and find his daughter Sumei and his grandchild.

”In those chaotic times, a woman with a big belly, do you think she could have been unharmed?”

Huli was not optimistic about finding anyone upon returning to the country; she said, ”Even if she was lucky enough to give birth, with her frail body, not much different from the young lady’s, are you sure she and the child survived?

Moreover, learning that the young master abandoned her and their unborn child, could she withstand such a blow? If you ask me, she might have long perished with the child.”

”Can’t you think of something positive?”

Fang Huai’s face didn’t look good.

”I suggest you stop thinking about those unrealistic things, or the greater the hope, the greater the disappointment.” Huli paused for a moment, then added, ”I plan to have Youning look for her mother, and then ask her to seek help from his grandfather to see if we can return to the country. This way, Youning wouldn’t be dragged down by us...”

Fang Huai interrupted: ”I’ll find a way; if we return, we’ll go together.”

”Fine, if you can, then go find a way; I’ll wait for you to take me back to the country!” Huli was somewhat exasperated: ”Put the matter of returning to the country aside for now, tell me what we’re going to do about Yaozong in his current state? We have neither money nor medicine; you beat him like that, and even if he’s lucky enough to survive, can you guarantee he won’t gamble again?”

Fang Huai: ”What do you mean by that? Are you suggesting we just let Yaozong lie there and fend for himself?”
