Reborn as a Weak Beauty Pampered by All

Chapter 579: Chapter 579: Why Have Such Thoughts?

Cai Xiufen said irritably, ”That girl is pretty and fond of you, and she works at the Cultural Work Troupe like you do. Plus, her dad is the head of your Cultural Work Troupe. If you two got together, it wouldn’t be a bad thing.”

”Grandma, once I get into college, I won’t be staying at the Cultural Work Troupe,” said Kang Yiyang, knowing his grandma meant well, yet he didn’t want her kind of ’well’ because, to him, relationships should be pure and not mixed with interests.

Cai Xiufen wanted to say, ”What if you don’t get into college?” But when the words reached her lips, she knew it wasn’t appropriate to say them out loud. After all, she too wanted her eldest grandson to get into college, so how could she dampen his spirits before the exam even took place?

But if her eldest grandson really did what he said and, okay, starting from now, didn’t date until nine years later, by that time, he would be almost thirty. Could he still find a good wife?

With that in mind, Cai Xiufen asked, ”Won’t you reconsider?”

Kang Yiyang shook his head determinedly and said, ”Grandma, as long as I’m capable, I shouldn’t have trouble finding whatever kind of partner I want in the future, and isn’t my face also a bonus point? If you really want to find something to do, like I said before, you can help my uncle find someone so that he can bring a new aunt into the house sooner.”

Upon hearing this, Cai Xiufen opened her mouth but eventually said, ”Your uncle is very set in his ways now, not much different from your aunt; I can’t control them anymore.” Standing up, Cai Xiufen added, ”And you, just like your aunt and uncle, have grown too strong-willed to listen to an old woman like me. Forget it, I’m getting old. I should worry less and live longer!”

After she spoke, Cai Xiufen returned to her room to sleep.

Watching his grandmother’s retreating figure, Kang Yiyang’s eyes filled with helplessness and regret. He certainly knew Grandma wanted the best for him, but he truly did not want to rush into relationships and be confined by marriage.

”What’s going on?”

Kang Li returned to the courtyard, and upon seeing her great-nephew downcast, she couldn’t help but ask with a laugh.

”My grandma might be very disappointed in me,” Kang Yiyang recounted the conversation he just had with his grandma to Kang Li, his aunt. In the end, he said, ”Aunt, I know that you and Grandma want the best for me, but I have my own plans, which you understand.”

”Fooled! Your life is your own, and you naturally have the right to choose how you want to live your future. Grandma and I are just offering suggestions. If you don’t want to accept them, how could we blame you? Don’t worry, Grandma is fine, don’t overthink it.”

Kang Li thought her older mother must have gone back to her room to rest, but she didn’t realize that her absence had led her great-nephew to overthink and become emotionally affected by their conversation.

Kang Yiyang pursed his lips and asked, ”Do you think I’m ungrateful?”

”Why would you think that? Ungrateful, how are you ungrateful? Comrade Lin Dan is quite a catch in many respects, but in your aunt’s eyes, your personal qualities and our family’s situation are also not bad,”

”Perhaps the person you spend your life with will have even better qualities than Lin Dan. And besides, even if she is not as good as Lin Dan in some ways, if she is sensible and hardworking, and you both like each other, I think that’s also very good,” said Kang Li.

Pausing briefly, she continued, ”However, when you really start dating someone in the future,
