I Became a Medical Genius in the 80s

Chapter 1124: Chapter 1123: Wanting Her to Take the Lead

Among the present family sects participating in the garden party, there are seven, but only six are here. The Wen Family is absent. It seems Wen Xin not only dislikes seeing Beisitian follow her orders, but they may have found another path.

”Doctor Bei, we’ve come this time hoping you will lead everyone to speak.” The speaker is Zhang Wenxing from the Zou Lu School, in his fifties, with a small tuft of beard on his chin, rosy complexion, and very small eyes that nearly form slits when he smiles.

He speaks seriously, appearing to be agitated by something.

Beisitian gestured for them to sit, ”Please, everyone, have a seat. I have limited staff, so I won’t be serving water, and could Mr. Zhang state the purpose?”

Zhang Wenxing took a seat, followed by the others. Standing as a group, it seemed less like seeking leadership from Beisitian, and more like demanding justice.

”Doctor Bei is unaware? Those people are currently hosting a banquet in the courtyard, completely ignoring us guests!” said Zhou Xinghai from the Zhou Family.

This Zhou Xinghai is the uncle who provoked Beisitian during the day, also in his fifties.

Beisitian indeed wasn’t aware of the situation, but seeing everyone’s unpleasant expression, it’s unlikely they gathered due to something so trivial. In this gathering, even if outwardly harmonious, there would inevitably be underlying conflicts.

Simply because of this issue, such a gathering wouldn’t occur.

It seems those people not only taunted verbally, but probably acted more aggressively, involving actual interests, otherwise just holding a banquet wouldn’t provoke such negative sentiment.

”What do you all mean?” Beisitian asked.

”Qingyu’s strength is widely known, and Doctor Bei’s character and ability are trusted by all of us. If we remain silent, those people will certainly become more aggressive and disrespect the present family sects further. We all wish to unite our strength, acting as one, so they can see we won’t be bullied lightly.”

Beisitian understood; they hoped she would take the lead.

If it’s truly time to step up, she naturally wouldn’t refuse, nor need others to tell her. But now, she doesn’t want to take the lead. It’s clear the opposition is deliberate, and their goal is unknown.

Seeing Beisitian silent, Zhou Xinghai asked, ”Doctor Bei, are you afraid? You should know they are discussing how to divide everything of the present, the result of our considerable effort!”

Beisitian grinned wryly at Zhou Xinghai, ”Mr. Zhou is highly respected, a spiritual leader of the elder generation, and courageous. Why not lead everyone?”

She’s most annoyed by such manipulation, needing to step up to be appreciated. She wasn’t planning on taking the lead anyway, and certainly won’t let them benefit.

Zhou Xinghai was speechless, frowning at Beisitian, unable to refute her.

After rebuking him, Beisitian began considering Zhou Xinghai’s words. It seems the opposition indeed has a motive, yet this should be anticipated. Coming into the open implies they’re done hiding, and entering the scene only means dividing the interests.

Saying ”division” might be inappropriate; it should be ”annexation,” compared with Ancient Families, having nothing to do with Modern Families, signaling an inevitable trend.
