Who Says I’m Not a Legitimate Adventurer

“I’ll return and thoroughly explain the next phase’s overnight camping mission to the students.”

Sylvester stood up.

“Then I must also ask you to properly brief each internship team on the key protection measures. After all, this is also to help the Adventurers’ Guild resolve environmental hazards.”

Necros nodded solemnly in agreement.

Sylvester slightly bent forward in a respectful bow. Using that posture to express his respect, he then turned and walked out of the office.

As the door closed behind him, Necros let out a helpless sigh.

He opened several more reports and looked through them again.

In the end, he simply could not endure the nauseating flattery any longer.

Like tossing away trash, he threw the entire stack of parchment onto the wide office desk.He had absolutely no desire to look at them again.

He reached out and rang the magical crystal bell beside the desk.

Not long afterward, Vice Guildmaster Homan, who was responsible for administrative management, pushed open the door and entered.

“Go bring me the files from the archives.”

Necros ordered irritably.

“According to the internship team roster, bring me all of their recently completed mission receipts. I want to know just how much actual work these little brats have really done.”

After receiving the order, Homan immediately turned around to handle it.

Only a short while later, a stack of genuine commission records was placed before the old Guild Master.

As the rough parchment pages were turned one after another, the office was left with nothing but the faint sound of paper rubbing together.

Necros’s originally tense shoulders gradually relaxed.

He carefully cross-checked several files, and the stone hanging in his heart finally dropped.

Those old veterans in the guild had not embarrassed him after all.

They had not treated those pampered interns like honored ancestors just because Violet Academy offered generous subsidies.

The files clearly showed that every team had strictly evaluated the interns’ specific mana conditions and physical stamina reserves before arranging commission missions of varying difficulty accordingly.

From this alone, it was obvious that these battle-hardened parties had not been perfunctory.

They had genuinely treated these students from ivory towers as real rookie adventurers, meticulously helping them establish a foundation for survival.

However, Necros also sharply noticed that several veteran teams had acted somewhat overly cautiously.

When facing ordinary monsters, they had not even dared let the students step forward for practical combat experience.

Necros picked up a red quill pen beside him and circled the names of those teams, planning to summon several captains tomorrow for a stern reminder.

After finishing these routine files, his fingers pinched the commission form submitted by Lance.

The old man casually flipped it open.

The moment he clearly saw the first line of records, Necros’s pupils instantly widened.

He abruptly straightened his back and directly pulled the freshly stamped mission completion form out from the pile of papers, nearly knocking over the ink bottle at the edge of the desk.

How was this possible?

The old Guild Master stared at the words on the paper, his brows twisting into a huge knot.

He carefully calculated the timing in his head.

At absolute most, only around a week had passed since he handed that extremely dangerous Breathing Technique to Lance.

Necros clearly remembered how it felt sparring with that young man in the backyard last time.

At the time, although Lance possessed considerable potential, his actual combat standard had only barely approached the threshold of Professional Rank. And even that had completely relied upon the temporary explosive burst granted by that Breathing Technique.

Once his stamina ran dry, the brat’s combat power would plummet off a cliff.

But now—

this latest submitted mission completion form clearly stated in black and white that the hastily assembled two-man party had actually killed an adult Hobgoblin head-on.

Not only that, the amount of settlement proof collected was so exaggerated it was frightening.

Within just a single daytime period, the two of them had continuously launched raids and wiped out four entire Goblin camps.

Judging by the standard scale of each camp, that meant they had personally slaughtered more than eighty Goblins.

Was this some kind of joke?

According to normal adventurer common sense, completing a purge of this intensity without casualties would require at minimum a perfectly balanced five-person party just to barely manage it.

Had this brat been hiding something?

That outrageous speculation instantly surfaced in Necros’s mind.

Could it be that during their previous sparring session, that slippery brat had deliberately concealed his true ability?

Was he actually just playing house with an old man like him?

Necros scratched his head.

At this moment, his mind was overflowing with question marks.

If Lance had not hidden his strength, then there was only one possibility left.

Could Gideon have secretly given that little girl from the Rosenthal Family some kind of extremely destructive high-grade alchemical tool?

As a native of this world, Necros’s thinking was completely constrained by common sense.

He could not possibly imagine the terrifying boost that the Dragon-Hunting Breathing Technique combined with limitless stamina granted Lance.

Nor could he imagine that the young man was relying upon the System Panel to continuously stack newly acquired combat specialties and biological talents like a snowball rolling downhill.

This kind of abnormal growth speed had already surpassed the limits of his imagination.

However, Necros did not jump to conclusions. He pulled out every single commission mission Lance had accepted personally during this period.

Looking at those records, the old man sank into contemplation.

The other party’s growth trajectory really did appear gradual and orderly.

It was just that the increase in quantity and intensity was progressing at an extremely abnormal speed.

Now it seemed that the progress speed of this peculiar internship team had already completely exceeded his original expectations.

Since they possessed this level of capability—

then the upcoming party distribution plan for clearing mana radiation points absolutely needed adjustment.

Originally, several mission point arrangements had already given him a headache, because he wanted to arrange things so that the different mission points could support one another as much as possible.

But due to the limitations in some parties’ strength, his assigned locations had ended up somewhat scattered.

Necros stood up and strode toward the enormous solid-wood sand-table map at the center of the office.

The tabletop simulated the complex terrain of Copper Creek Forest, and blue miniature flags had already been carefully placed across it to mark the precise locations of each mana radiation point.

Beneath the base of every small flag was a neatly pressed name label for each internship party.

He quickly found the flag representing Lance and Cecilia.

Originally, because he had been worried about the two of their safety, the radiation points he specifically reserved for Lance were the outermost points in the entire perimeter region.

In those outer areas, it was absolutely impossible to encounter any troublesome monsters.

But now that they possessed this level of capability, the mission points could be adjusted.

After adjusting this mana node-clearing mission, the mission points between each party would become far more interconnected. Even if accidents occurred during mana purification, they could provide mutual support.

He was not considering things solely from the mission perspective either, because completing mana radiation point purification was also beneficial to the participants themselves.

It could help them improve their abilities more effectively.

Necros decisively extended his rough fingers and pulled out the blue flag bearing the name “Raven.”
