Longevity through Upgrading Buildings

Chapter 67: Chapter 67: Murder and Arson Bring Fortune

”Hmm?”

Ji Yuan, who had just taken out three Storage Bags, looked up at Qiu Qianhai, ”Didn’t we agree to split this evenly?”

”I didn’t do anything to kill them, it was all you, and this whole mess started because of me, yet you risked your life alongside me.”

Qiu Qianhai’s face looked slightly grim.

”Let’s just leave it at this, all of it goes to you. If I take a share of the loot... I’d feel too guilty, I wouldn’t be able to sleep at night.”

”This...”

Seeing Qiu Qianhai’s genuine expression, Ji Yuan could only nod in agreement.

Qiu Qianhai breathed a sigh of relief and smiled, ”Damn, the Qin Family bastards are really loaded; they have so many good things on them.”

With that, he poured out everything from the Storage Bags.

Ji Yuan naturally noticed this as well.

Not to mention anything else, even these Storage Bags were bigger than Ji Yuan’s.

The one he was using was the first one he ever had, only a foot square, and it was getting a bit small by now.

For instance, he had no place to store the Stone Armor Crab he had killed.

Huda’s Storage Bag, however, was three feet square, with a noticeably larger space inside.

”And there are quite a few Magical Artifacts too.”

Qiu Qianhai casually swept his hand and took all the Magical Artifacts out.

The two of them each had a piece of Flying Knife Magical Artifact, and also the Protective Magical Artifact, Xuanguang Shield, seemed to be specially prepared for them by the Qin Family.

The person who fought Qiu Qianhai was killed by the Golden Seal Talisman and the Yin Ghost, and the Magic Robe on him was undamaged.

But the Boot Magical Artifact was only on the one who fought Ji Yuan.

After some discussion, the Flying Knife and Xuanguang Shield were split one to each, the intact Magic Robe went to Qiu Qianhai, and the Boots were taken by Ji Yuan.

The two Mid-grade Dharma Ships were also split one each.

As for Talismans, the high-grade ones... were all gone.

After a fierce battle, all the good stuff that could be used had been used up.

So much so that the person Ji Yuan killed last was using Mid-grade Protective Talismans.

The remaining Talismans and Elixirs weren’t anything rare, so the two split them evenly, and Ji Yuan estimated that selling them could fetch forty or fifty Spirit Stones.

There weren’t many Spirit Stones left, likely used by these two for their cultivation.

After splitting, Ji Yuan only got 12 stones.

But the Storage Bags from the Liu Brothers had much more Spirit Stones in them. Ji Yuan glanced over; excluding Talismans and Elixirs, just the Spirit Stones added up to 108.

Tsk, no wonder they are the most notorious Tribulation Cultivators in Qingbo Pond.

Their Magical Artifacts weren’t many, just one Attack Magical Artifact and one Protective Magical Artifact each, likely specialized in combat rather than Ji Yuan’s resource-driven style.

At this moment, Ji Yuan had over a dozen Magical Artifacts alone.

If he used all of them at once, he’d indeed be armed to the teeth, even managing to snag one of those rare Boot Magical Artifacts.

Even though it’s just a Low Grade Magical Artifact.

Their Protective Magical Artifacts were the most common shields, both Mid-grade.

Thus, it was time for Ji Yuan’s Dragon Armor Shield to retire. He refined the two slightly; Liu Da’s iron-like shield was called ”Golden Iron Shield,” and Liu Er’s curved shield was called ”Vine Shield.”

The Golden Iron Shield was a bit heavier but had superior defense and could expand to three zhang, covering the whole body in critical moments.

The Vine Shield, on the other hand, was lighter and more flexible, suitable for nimble use.

Currently, Ji Yuan wasn’t short on Spirit Stones, so he decided to keep both shields, choosing depending on what kind of battle he would face.

As for the Liu Brothers’ Magical Artifacts... both were Water-Splitting Needles.

Ji Yuan took each out, holding them in his hands, feeling that something was off.

”These two Water-Splitting Needles... seem to be a set.”

Qiu Qianhai leaned forward, examining for a moment, muttering.

”I think so too, I’ll try refining them.”

Ji Yuan infused his Spiritual Qi, and after a few breaths, he heard a ”ding” sound, and the two Water-Splitting Needles in his hand snapped together.

The handles fused, elongated, and astonishingly formed a long spear with sharp blades at both ends.

”This is... a high-grade Magical Artifact!”

Ji Yuan held it with one hand, giving it a casual spin, the blade edges emitting a watery blue glow, sharp and threatening, as a memory appeared in his mind.

He flipped through it slightly, eyes lighting up.

”No wonder the two brothers could kill a Peak Qi Refining cultivator.”

”What’s the story?”

”This high-grade Magical Artifact is called the ’Water-Split Dragon Spear,’ engraved with a powerful magic that summons a water dragon when activated. They probably used this move to kill a Peak Qi Refining. Also, it can be separated into two parts to use as two Mid-grade Magical Artifacts normally.”

”That explains it.”

Ji Yuan weighed it, considering his mid-stage Qi Refining cultivation, the consumption to activate this high-grade artifact would be significant.

The Liu Brothers must have separated and used it as Mid-grade Artifacts for this reason.

But thankfully, it wouldn’t take long before Ji Yuan reached the late stage of Qi Refining, at which point he could freely wield this Water-Split Dragon Spear. By then, he wouldn’t fear any battle, be it close or long-range.

After putting away his first high-grade Magical Artifact, Ji Yuan turned his attention to the remaining items in the Storage Bag.

As for high-grade Talismans, there were still two, both Protective Talismans from Liu Er’s Storage Bag, named ”Water Dragon Shield.”

Its effect was roughly similar to Ji Yuan’s Magical Artifact, Xuanguang Shield.

This saved him from having to buy Iron Wall Talismans again.

But why didn’t their Storage Bags have high-grade Attack Talismans?

It was just that when Liu Da killed the Stone Armor Crab, he used a high-grade Talisman. Could it be the two of them together only had this one?

Not likely... Ji Yuan felt the Liu Brothers shouldn’t be that poor.

So he rummaged through their Storage Bags, finally pulling out two black stones that felt like pills with some heft.

Upon taking them out, Ji Yuan immediately sensed a dangerous aura from them.

”Water Bombs?!”

Qiu Qianhai recognized them too, exclaiming with widened eyes.

”Indeed, and thank goodness they didn’t use them in the Death Cave.”

Ji Yuan recalled and felt a bit of fear.

Water Bombs are a kind of artifact, but they’re single-use, detonating with immense power akin to a full strike by a Peak Qi Refining.

It’s said there’s even a higher-level artifact called Celestial Thunder Seed.

Once activated, it equals a full strike by a Peak Foundation Establishment cultivator.

Ji Yuan was just about to offer one to Qiu Qianhai, but he quickly interjected, ”I don’t want it, you keep it yourself.”

”You...”

”Alright then.”

Seeing Qiu Qianhai’s reluctance to owe a favor, Ji Yuan didn’t insist, instead pulling out the Mid-grade Talismans and numerous Elixirs he couldn’t use.

”Don’t refuse these; I can’t use them anyway.”

”Alright.”

The items that would cause a scramble outside seemed like useless junk to them as they passed them back and forth.

As for the Stone Armor Crab’s corpse, Ji Yuan even used the White Water Flying Sword to pry it open, finding no yellow nor paste, not even much meat.

He could only sell it to the Hundred Treasures Tower for Spirit Stones.

These were not the most valued items in their Storage Bag... the most prized were those Cold Iron Sands.

Ji Yuan weighed them, estimating about twenty-four or twenty-five jins.

Qiu Qianhai absolutely refused to take them, claiming he could get as much as he wanted anytime.

Ji Yuan glanced at his Storage Bag. Adding the ones he dug from the Death Cave before, and those stored over the past few days, all totaled... forty-one jins!

If he sold these all at once, wouldn’t he just soar?

With the loot divided, the two set off again, arriving at the Hundred Treasures Tower in Jingde Square.

Having reaped once before, now was the second harvest.
