I Can Gain One Skill Point Per Second

Chapter 850: Chapter 850: Interwoven Fates

After completing the planar leap, Lin Yi and his companions arrived directly at the entrance to the Nine Netherworld.

Blood-red high walls stretched to the horizon.

The entire Nine Netherworld had only one majestic gate.

This scene was quite similar to the South Celestial Gate from the TV drama Lin Yi had watched before his transmigration.

Called a gate, yet there were no door panels.

Only two scarlet traditional Chinese characters were written and hung above the entrance.

Using the Eye of All-Seeing to observe, those scarlet characters were not painted but were carved from gems imbued with a special array of sensing effects.

When the Eye of All-Seeing provided its detection results, Lin Yi already had a good idea.

The wall and the entrance define the boundary.

Inside the boundary, powerful Nine Nether Divine Soldiers were arranged throughout the entrance, strictly guarding it.

Outside the boundary, they wouldn’t spare it a glance.

It seemed that even if chaos erupted outside, the Nine Nether Divine Soldiers wouldn’t even glance at it.

As a transmigrator, Lin Yi had an exceptionally high IQ.

He immediately analyzed the conclusion that the group could enter directly.

The Nine Netherworld Gate is a gate that separates Yin and Yang.

To pass through this gate, for ordinary people, indeed, only death would work.

However, for the gods, they could enter and exit freely.

The so-called detection effect must be for identifying whether the entrant has the qualification to enter this place.

As for those so-called soul bodies needing reincarnation, there’s no need to say more; as long as Lin Yi entered with this guise, the recognition device naturally wouldn’t reject him.

But Lin Yi wasn’t ready to die yet.

The day to report here in the next form was still far off, and besides, entering this place in this form would severely limit combat ability, making it impossible for Lin Yi to complete the task assigned by higher-ups.

However, since the detection device did not reject the Nine Nether Divine Soldiers from this place, Lin Yi formed a bold hypothesis.

Possessing the Power of the Primordial would allow one to enter this place.

At that moment, Lin Yi decisively used the Seventy-Two Transformations skill to transform himself, Xiyue, and another into the guise of Divine Soldiers.

“You!”

Although she and Lin Yi weren’t too far apart in levels, after watching Lin Yi transform right in front of her, Ziyue found she couldn’t detect the slightest flaw.

She even felt that the person before her wasn’t Lin Yi but rather a Nine Nether Divine Soldier transformed to look like Lin Yi.

What’s wrong? Do you have any effective strategy? If I’m not mistaken, we just need to fool the guards.

Strategy?

Where would she get a strategy from?

Ziyue was just a pawn of Dark Rising, with all her connections inside of Dark Rising, where would she find information on entering the Nine Netherworld?

So, Ziyue had no choice but to heed Lin Yi’s suggestion, boldly transforming into a Nine Nether Divine Soldier, striding into the Land of the Nine Netherworld.

Even when the grand gate of the Nine Netherworld was far behind her, Ziyue still couldn’t quite believe it.

The rumored place where souls return, she had entered so effortlessly.

This place gathered Yin, with no sign of living creatures.

In most people’s imagination, it should be a sunless place shrouded in ghostly mists all year long.

Unexpectedly, apart from the preserved ancient architecture, this place had little difference from any other place.

One transparent soul after another was escorted by Nine Nether Divine Soldiers toward their destination, and the biggest difference from the outside world was the absence of residences and eateries.

Looking out, all that could be seen were endless wide avenues shimmering with different colors of light.

Dark Rising had always presented Lin Yi and his group with a very reliable, city-inhidden demeanor.

But the tasks here made Lin Yi feel quite helpless.

The most abstract part was the task’s content:

Head to the Land of the Nine Netherworld, find a key powerful being imprisoned deep inside, and successfully bring them out of Nine Netherworld. During the mission, no matter what, do not associate with Dark Rising.

Lin Yi understood every word’s meaning.

But stringing all the words together, the task content became overly abstract.

Is the Land of the Nine Netherworld vast?

The Eyes of Golden Flame and the Eye of All-Seeing couldn’t see an end, and the wide road was devoid of buildings other than the passing Divine Soldiers, showing the sheer expanse of the Nine Netherworld.

Finding an imprisoned being in such a vast place, that was fine.

Fishing a needle in a haystack was doable; one bucket of water at a time, eventually, you’d find your target.

But if you don’t know what you’re fishing for, who knows how long it’ll take to find anything?

While Ziyue was in a daze, Lin Yi already voiced his question.

“Well, what’s the next move? I promised to accompany you, and my only demand wasn’t high — just tell me where to go, whom to target, and whom to escort, don’t just keep silent.”

“You’re at least an insider, tasked with this mission, shouldn’t you have fairly detailed intelligence?”

Looking at the woman finally coming to her senses, Lin Yi reluctantly pressed his forehead.

Sigh, the task’s got little to do with me, at worst, I’ll take this chance to handle the yet-to-appear trouble ahead.

“Umm, Mr. Lin Yi, they really didn’t give me any.”

What? Not given!

So, all three of us are just wandering around aimlessly and purposefully like headless flies? Is that it?

When Lin Yi said this, his eyes were wide open.

Seeing this, Ziyue felt a bit guilty.

But she really didn’t hold too much intel. Though unwilling to regret making Lin Yi speechless, she reluctantly nodded.

Upon hearing this, Xiyue, who had transformed into the guise of a Nine Nether Divine Soldier, incredulously turned her head, locking eyes with the other two.

Awkward, dead silent.

This damn atmosphere made Lin Yi feel awkward for the first time.

“Haven’t figured it out yet?”

“Why were you designated to complete this task?”

The voice of Wo Zhiqi sounded in the Sea of Divine Consciousness.

“Even with my divine power, I still have little understanding of the Land of the Nine Netherworld, for I never entered here. But one thing is certain: merely having the Power of the Primordial isn’t enough to enter this place.”

Wo Zhiqi’s words left Lin Yi briefly stumped.

If the Power of the Primordial couldn’t grant entry, then what were the conditions?

Hadn’t the group successfully entered the Land of the Nine Netherworld already? If his conjecture wasn’t validated, shouldn’t they have been blocked halfway by some gatekeeping Nine Nether Divine Soldiers?

“Still baffled? Your connection to the Nine Netherworld began long ago. Necromancy Element professionals are common on your Blue Star, but have you seen anyone who could summon the Undead Monarch?”

“Who knows whether grabbing this opportunity was good or bad for you.”

Upon hearing this, no matter how confused Lin Yi was, he should’ve realized by now.

His fate with Dark Rising had long been sealed.

His connection with Dark Rising wasn’t because he dug deep enough or traveled far enough.

This was an inevitable occurrence; the only uncertainty was when and how Lin Yi would encounter and get to know the organization of Dark Rising.

“Are you saying that the one who led me into the Land of the Nine Netherworld was Lin You?”

Hmm?

In the Sea of Divine Consciousness, Wo Zhiqi grinned wide: Finally figured it out?
