I Can Gain One Skill Point Per Second

Chapter 244: Chapter 244: The Finals Begin! You’re Dead—Not Even God Can Save You!

Dong Dong!

The door to the rest area was suddenly knocked.

After the door opened.

Lin Yi saw the three main referees from before, along with a middle-aged man who seemed to be a high-ranking member of the event organizing committee, leading them in.

”Members of the Xia Team.”

”I am Hu Yu, the chief planner of this competition.”

”We deeply regret the incident that just happened, and it’s also due to our oversight in managing the event that such a vile incident occurred.”

”We have sanctioned Mitsui Shigemasa, the captain of the Japan Team, with a suspension.”

”In tomorrow’s finals, he will be unable to compete and will directly forfeit.”

”Additionally, he will be unable to participate in the subsequent team events.”

”So, the championship of the individual competition is awarded to your team’s captain, Lin Yi.”

”Moreover, according to the rules of this tournament, the ranking scores of all Xia Team members are the highest, and thus the five spots to enter the Trial Tower in this individual competition are all awarded to your team.”

Hu Yu bowed again.

Finally, he looked at Lin Yi and said, ”Lin Yi, the award ceremony for your championship has been prepared, and we invite you to come on stage to receive your prize.”

Lin Yi frowned.

Receiving an award in this situation?

What a worthless award!

He just wanted to wring Mitsui Shigemasa’s neck right now.

”I’m not going.”

”I don’t need you to award me anything. I only need you to proceed with tomorrow’s match as per the usual process.”

Lin Yi glanced coldly at Hu Yu.

Hu Yu’s smile froze.

He also saw the expression on the other members of the Xia Team.

Clearly, Lin Yi’s sentiment was shared by them.

He was momentarily at a loss to understand.

Why refuse a free championship, insisting on having another match?

”Uh, we’ve already prepared the necessary procedures.”

”Also, the live broadcast is ready.”

”If you refuse to accept the award, it puts us in a difficult position.”

Hu Yu forced a smile, speaking again.

”Difficult?”

”Then don’t do it!”

”I’m taking back the Inverted Sky Tower from East Sea today.”

Suddenly, a deep voice came from the door.

Everyone turned to look.

They saw Cheng Xiao and Meng Yuanzhou had arrived without anyone noticing.

The person speaking stood beside Cheng Xiao, a middle-aged man in a purple robe, emanating an aura of authority.

In his eyes, righteousness was evident.

Hu Yu felt his legs go weak, nearly kneeling.

A Ninth Transformation.

Two War Gods!

What kind of formation is this?!

The middle-aged man in the purple robe glanced at Hu Yu and continued, ”The Trial Tower originally appeared in the waters of Xia.”

”For the revival of humanity, we gave other Pan-Asia countries an equal opportunity to compete for entry into the tower.”

”To inspire the younger generation of our professionals to strive forward.”

”But now, it seems that the nature of this competition has changed.”

”You’ve got live broadcasts, sponsors, and in pursuit of ratings and money, you’ve made a complete mess of the basic competition.”

”And now you’ve taken money from Mitsui the old thief, letting his son avoid the battle, what are you trying to do?”

Hu Yu’s expression changed several times.

He had handled the matter very discreetly.

Moreover, it was a beneficial situation for Xia, letting the Xia Team get a free championship and monopolize the five spots.

He never expected.

The result of such a good thing would be this.

Lin Yi secretly observed the middle-aged man in the purple robe.

Another big shot he didn’t know appeared.

But judging from his aura and way of speaking.

He’s probably another War God, without a doubt.

Hu Yu’s face was bitter: ”Mr. Ji, according to Xia’s rules, we...”

The middle-aged man in the purple robe’s eyes flashed coldly: ”What I say now is the rule.”

”I only give you 10 minutes to announce that tomorrow’s competition will continue as normal, otherwise, don’t organize the competition, Xia will reclaim the spots for this year’s Trial Tower!”

A statement, overflowing with authority!

”Yes! Yes!”

”I’ll take care of it right away!”

Hu Yu scrambled to leave with his people in tow.

”Are you Lin Yi?”

”Not bad, you refuse to take an easy championship, instead wanting to help your teammate take revenge.”

”Don’t forget hatred, it’s the key to making one stronger.”

”You, I like!”

After Hu Yu left, the middle-aged man in the purple robe entered the rest area and sat down casually.

Meng Yuanzhou smiled and introduced Lin Yi to him: ”Ji Yunli, the 17th War God of Xia.”

”Titled Sun-Shooting War God.”

Cheng Xiao looked at Ji Yunli, asking: ”You’ve been on a path of killing and being hunted twelve months a year, how do you have time to come watch the match?”

Ji Yunli snorted: ”Who said I’m here to watch the match, I’m obviously here to kill someone.”

Cheng Xiao frowned but didn’t ask further.

The two shared a tacit understanding.

...

The next day.

At nine in the morning.

After the event committee announced Lin Yi as the champion yesterday, countless spectators planned to leave disappointed.

But they were surprised to hear that Lin Yi voluntarily gave up the easily won championship and insisted on having a final showdown with Mitsui of the Japan Team.

This instead earned him endless praise and surprise.

At this moment, the entire 100,000-seat venue was packed to capacity.

”Seriously, bro, is this match a must-watch?”

”I heard watching this match is life-threatening!”

”Otherwise, why don’t you sell your ticket for some cash, I’ll buy it at a high price!”

”The end reveals the dagger, right? Get lost! I’m here for the thrill!”

Inside and outside the arena, countless spectators were hooked like addicts.

Knowing full well this match was dangerous to watch.

Yet they indulged in it with relish.

Because the significance of this match was too great.

Firstly, the match would determine who among the young professionals in the Pan-Asia region was number one.

Secondly, the events of yesterday had left countless Xia spectators utterly furious.

They wanted to see Lin Yi take down the arrogant Mitsui Shigemasa.

They wanted to see him dead!

Finally, this was a battle of honor between Xia and Japan, two nations currently with extremely tense relations.

Whosoever wins would boost their morale significantly.

Thus, no one wanted to miss this pinnacle battle.

With the host Ah Liang’s announcements completed.

Lin Yi slowly took the stage.

”Ah Yi——!!!”

”Go for it!!”

”Waste that little bastard!!”

As soon as Lin Yi got on stage, he heard a booming voice from the sidelines.

The voice was so familiar it made Lin Yi pause for a moment.

He turned to look.

A smile of surprise appeared on his face.

Zhang Shan had somehow gotten hold of a big flag, with the simplest blessing written on it—

”Lin Yi Invincible” in four large characters.

He waved it continuously.

The big flag weighed at least a hundred pounds, but being a Knight, Zhang Shan had the strength and waved it with great vigor.

Soon, it’s likely that within Lin Yi’s cheering squad, the core of his support group, he’ll play a part.

”Lin Yi, keep it up!”

A pleasant female voice was heard.

Nearby Zhang Shan’s seat, Lin Yi saw his former high school desk mate Jiang Ya.

Jiang Xian and the former leaders of the three major organizations in Jiangcheng waved their hands excitedly at him.

They all came to watch his pinnacle battle.

The feeling of having old friends cheering and supporting you.

Is wonderful.

Lin Yi took a deep breath, catching up with old classmates could wait until after the match.

Now, he had to remain angry.

”Lin Yi, the match is about to start, anything you want to say?”

Ah Liang had donned a new outfit for today as well.

After all, it was the stage for the finals.

Lin Yi’s eyes first flew to the panel of judges.

He glanced at the middle-aged man with a somber expression overseeing the judges’ panel on the Japan side.

Then, he focused his gaze back on Mitsui Shigemasa, standing on the other side.

He spoke four words.

”You’re as good as dead.”
