Genshin Impact: Joining the Genius Society

Chapter 130: Chapter 130: Failed Poaching, and Herta’s Shock

Just as Herta predicted—

Su Ran had zero interest in Ruan Mei.

But Ruan Mei had an extreme interest in Su Ran.

As an expert in life sciences, how could she not be fascinated by a biological entity even an Aeon could not analyze?

When she guessed the intruder who updated the Simulated Universe was likely the Genius Society’s final member, she immediately wanted to borrow the hijacked Herta puppet from Herta.

Herta, of course, refused.

Naturally so— she wanted to study it herself first.

”Simulated Universe is almost out of memory,”

Herta said while messing with the terminal, ”but relax—I’ll increase the computational cap within two days.”

The project was massive, and Herta took it seriously.

At first, the universe was oversized by design.

But after Su Ran appeared...

For immersion or whatever reason, he added far too much.

Some additions were unnecessary indeed.

But immersion was important.

You had to get immersed to discover the origin of the Aeons.

”Two more days?”

Su Ran frowned.

”If your Simulated Universe needs two days to upgrade, how long will my materials take?”

”You’re in a hurry?”

Herta’s eyes gleamed.

Bingo.

A bargaining chip.

”Yes, I’m in a hurry.

Do you know why I need a space station?”

Su Ran could practically read her mind.

A world-renowned genius like Herta... and she was still this petty?

”If you’re in a hurry, it’ll be slower,”

Herta said smugly.

”The more anxious you are, the slower I’ll go.

Right, Asta?”

Asta froze.

This fire was suddenly burning her skirt.

Agree? Offend Su Ran.

Disagree? Offend Herta.

She was terrified.

”Asta, right?”

Su Ran—using the puppet—walked up to the girl.

Sensing her nervousness, he remained gentle.

He wasn’t a devil... well, not all the time.

”How about quitting Herta and following me instead?”

”...Huh?”

Asta blanked out.

He was... poaching her?

No way.

A tiny researcher like her, being fought over by monsters of this level?

Wait, no—

Herta hadn’t fought yet...

”Um...”

Her eyes begged Herta for help.

Herta just folded her arms.

Enjoying the show.

”See?”

Herta chuckled.

”She didn’t accept your offer right away.

Obviously she doesn’t want to go with you.

Staying with me has more of a future.”

Asta was almost fainting from embarrassment.

Su Ran shrugged.

”Tch. Big deal.

Can you borrow Nous’ computational power?”

Asta:???

Herta:???

Su Ran:image.jpg

”Hmm?”

Herta suddenly sensed something off.

”...What did you just say?”

”Can you borrow it?”

”No— the sentence before that!”

”This counts as nothing?”

”THE ONE IN THE MIDDLE!”

Su Ran sighed.

”You heard it.”

Herta grabbed the puppet’s collar, shaking with disbelief.

”You... know what you’re saying?”

Borrowing Nous’ computational power?

An Aeon’s computational power?!

A being favored by Nous was rare.

A being blessed by Nous was rarer.

But one who could borrow His computing power?

She had never heard of it.

”You can’t be serious...”

”I asked politely.

He lent it.

What’s strange about that?”

Su Ran shrugged.

He didn’t care what kind of storm this information could cause.

If someone wanted trouble— let them come.

He was also an Emanator.

Not the strongest, maybe, but certainly not weak.

Even an Antimatter Legion Stellaron Hunter–level entity, he could fight evenly.

”I asked Him for some computational power to play with.

He gave it.

If He didn’t lend it to you... maybe you’re not smart enough?”

Su Ran smirked.

”Why not shout and try?”

A perfect critical hit.

Herta took a deep breath, calmed down— and yelled toward the ceiling:

”Nous!

CAN YOU LEND ME YOUR COMPUTATIONAL POWER?!”

Su Ran: waiting with popcorn

Asta: eyes wide with curiosity

Herta: genuinely expecting an answer

...

Ten minutes later.

Nothing.

Herta’s face darkened.

”You’re messing with me! Aren’t you?!”

Su Ran pointed at the Simulated Universe terminal casually.

”Look.”

The terminal instantly began operating tens of thousands of times faster.

The entire simulated universe started running as if it could actually simulate the real cosmos.

Herta:!!!

Asta:!!!

Su Ran:told you so.jpg

”This computational flow...”

Herta’s voice trembled, ”completely surpasses all known systems...”

Indeed— a new, unknown network line had appeared inside the Simulated Universe.

The output was absurd.

And the aura of Nous— she couldn’t mistake it.

He...

really borrowed it?!

”Sigh~ If you can’t even do something this simple, how’s Asta supposed to have a future sticking with you?”

Su Ran shook his head with regret.

Asta nearly fainted.

Had she just rejected a Universe-Breaking-Level boss’s recruitment...?

She was doomed.

”How did you do it?”

Herta muttered, stunned.

This man’s capabilities were outrageous.

If Nous weren’t a literal supercomputer, she would suspect Su Ran to be the Aeon’s illegitimate child.

”How. Did. You. Do. It?”

She growled.

”It’s borrowed.”

Herta twitched.

”I KNOW that!

How did you get Him to lend it?!”

”I opened my mouth and asked.”

Herta froze.

Did she not have a mouth?!

Su Ran withdrew the borrowed computational power from the Simulated Universe.

He needed it himself.

He wasn’t interested in researching the birth of Aeons.

”Hey! Why did you take it back?!”

”It’s my computational power.

The Simulated Universe isn’t mine.”

Herta’s face went blank.

Then—she instantly disconnected the puppet.

The woman was absolutely furious.

Her real body was definitely slamming furniture right now.
