Why Would an Aircraft Carrier Be Dispatched to Escort His Fishing Boat?

146: Chapter 146 Magnetic Field Chaos, Dragon Soul Lost”It seems that in the future, the Dragon Palace can be considered to be built upon this Earth Hexagram on the floor of the Pacific Ocean.”

Jiang Chen gazed at the monstrous waves rising in the Pacific Ocean, deep in thought.

This Earth Hexagram was truly as its name suggested.

It suppressed the heavens and earth.

It predicted the heavens and earth.

When the heavens and earth changed, it meant the world changed, and the celestial bodies changed.

To monitor the celestial bodies, the best method would be to build a monitoring station similar to a weather station upon the Earth Hexagram.

And the Dragon Palace, as a maritime force determined to build up an army of shrimp soldiers and crab generals on the seabed, would be quite suitable to carry out this monitoring task.

Jiang Chen pondered this in his heart.

He let the Horse Terracotta Warriors drag him as they continued to sail toward the center of the Pacific Ocean.

Meanwhile, in the endless sea area ten thousand meters deep on the floor of the Pacific Ocean, there was almost no light at all.

But hidden deep within were surging ocean currents.

An unknown creature with two huge, glowing eyes swam past silently.

Occasionally, there would even be submarine volcanic eruptions, emitting dazzling light.

Against the backdrop of these lights, if anyone were nearby, they would surely be able to faintly see that beneath this seabed, there was a strange pattern covering an area of over a thousand miles.

It was precisely the Earth Hexagram from the Yin-Yang Eight Trigrams.

One Yin and one Yang.

The patterns were peculiar.

Countless marine creatures lay dormant within it, thriving endlessly.

But now, this ancient and massive Earth Hexagram suddenly began to move slowly.

Some dormant submarine behemoths in the vicinity let out uneasy roars.

Marine creatures within a radius of a hundred miles scattered, panicked and bewildered, looking very terrified.

Even! Even the birds flying in the sky that fed on marine creatures had their formations thrown into chaos, flying wantonly in the sky as if they were lost.

This unusual scene naturally attracted the attention of interested parties.

In the middle of the Pacific Ocean, a massive human fleet was patrolling nearby.

It was the Dragon Soul aircraft carrier strike group.

Near this location, there was an international shipping route exclusive to the Dragon Kingdom.

As long as it was a Dragon Kingdom vessel, if it passed through here, it could receive unconditional escort from the Dragon Soul aircraft carrier strike group.

Therefore, as long as the Dragon Soul had not returned to port for maintenance, it would generally patrol back and forth along this route.

This was to ensure that the endless stream of ocean-going cargo ships on the route remained safe from the dangers of pirates, waves, earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, and even engine failures or leaks.

[Report to Dragon Soul Command Center, this is the Ox-Head destroyer. Our ship has successfully escorted a fleet of off-course ocean-going cargo ships, and they have now returned to the established route.]

[Report to Dragon Soul Command Center, this is the Horse-Face destroyer. Our ship has arrived at the designated sea area. The Dragon Kingdom private cruise ship that was besieged by unknown marine creatures is now safe.]

[Report to Dragon Soul Command Center, this is the Black Impermanence cruiser. Our ship...]

Radio messages were continuously being transmitted to the Dragon Soul command center.

Inside the command center, a man who looked very impartial and expressionless frowned slightly.

He was the Dragon Soul commander, Commander Yan Luo.

However, he was a bit puzzled at the moment.

Since yesterday, the number of incidents such as cargo ships going off course and vessels being attacked had begun to surge.

Incidents that might only be encountered once a week were now happening four or five times a day.

To solve the problem while ensuring that the aircraft carrier still had enough destroyers on the established route, Commander Yan Luo had to dispatch destroyers and cruisers back and forth to the sea areas requesting assistance.

”Commander, the last few days have been a bit strange. Why are there so many cargo ships going off course?”

A staff officer, after analyzing the abnormal data from the past few days, also looked very serious.

If it were just one cargo ship’s radar having problems leading to a deviation, that would be nothing.

But with so many incidents erupting all at once, it was possible that some abnormality was brewing.

Just when Commander Yan Luo had not yet figured out what was going on, a satellite communication from the Naval Department Base suddenly came through on the radio.

[Calling Dragon Soul commander Commander Yan Luo, this is the Naval Department Base. Satellite monitoring indicates that your aircraft carrier fleet has deviated from the established route by thirty miles. Please correct it in time.]

”?”

Commander Yan Luo and the others were all slightly stunned.

Deviated?

They hurriedly checked the radar.

The results displayed that the Dragon Soul aircraft carrier strike group was still on the established route and had not deviated.

Suddenly, everyone looked at each other in dismay.

The Dragon Soul’s radar showed no problems.

But the Naval Department Base’s satellites showed that they had deviated.

So, who was wrong?

[Replying to Naval Department Base, our radar seems to have a problem and is currently being corrected.]

Commander Yan Luo first had technical personnel come to check the radar.

However, after studying it, the senior technician also frowned: ”Reporting to Commander, this radar has no problems.”

”Could it be that the Naval Department Base’s satellites have a problem?”

A staff officer could not help but speculate.

But after saying that, he shook his head again.

The Naval Department Base had dozens of satellites.

Even if one had a problem, could all of them have problems?

For a moment, Commander Yan Luo could not determine who was having the problem.

Therefore, he ordered the aircraft carrier strike group to stop sailing immediately.

Then he sent a distress signal to Commander Tang Ze.

[Replying to Naval Department Base, I am Commander Yan Luo. Please help call Commander-in-Chief Commander Tang Ze. Our radar has experienced an inexplicable deviation that cannot be corrected. Please advise.]

Commander Tang Ze soon received the message from the Dragon Soul.

He immediately contacted the satellite monitoring station and asked them to reconfirm the position of the Dragon Soul.

The result was that dozens of satellites all monitored that the Dragon Soul was at 22 degrees north latitude, 167 degrees west longitude.

However!

The Dragon Soul’s radar showed that they were at 22 degrees north latitude, 166.5 degrees west longitude.

Don’t look at it as just a 0.5-degree difference.

But the actual distance was already a deviation of dozens of nautical miles.

If executing military orders, this was called a miss by a hair, leading to a thousand miles of error.

”Dozens of satellites have no problems.”

”The Dragon Soul aircraft carrier strike group also has dozens of radar detectors, and it’s impossible for them to all have such a major accident at the same time...”

”If it were before, I might have thought it was the United States engaging in electronic jamming.”

”But now!”

”The entire Pacific Ocean no longer has any United States aircraft carrier strike groups, so it can only be... a problem with the electromagnetic waves.”

Some technical experts in electromagnetism made a preliminary judgment after studying it.

”Do you mean that the magnetic field in the sea area where the Dragon Soul aircraft carrier strike group is located has a problem, causing the electromagnetic waves to distort?”

Commander Tang Ze asked.

The expert said: ”Yes, satellites are at a high altitude and are less affected by the Earth’s magnetic field, so they are more accurate.”

”But the aircraft carrier is on the ocean, so it is more affected by the magnetic field.”

”There might be a problem with the magnetic field in that sea area.”

After receiving confirmation from the expert, Commander Tang Ze immediately sent an instruction to the Dragon Soul.

[Please move away from the sea area you are in.]

[Then send your latitude and longitude coordinates again.]

After receiving the message, Commander Yan Luo immediately directed the strike group to leave the nearby sea area.

However, as the fleet sailed, after entering a certain sea area, their traces suddenly disappeared from the satellite monitoring screen.

[Dragon Soul! Dragon Soul! Please answer if received!]

Commander Tang Ze was also startled when he noticed that the Dragon Soul aircraft carrier strike group had suddenly disappeared.

He hurriedly sent a radio message.

However, the Dragon Soul aircraft carrier strike group did not reply again.

It was as if they had disappeared.
