Chapter 1069: Chapter 1068: Secret Collusion and Suppression

Ye Chen said nothing more.

He decided to follow and see what medicine the Ten Thousand Islands Sect had in its gourd.

Led by Elder Qi Yun of the Ten Thousand Islands Sect, the group groped its way forward through the black tide, hope glimmering on all their faces; after all, Elder Qi Yun had mentioned that the Ten Thousand Islands Sect had a lighthouse nearby!

As they walked.

Qi Yun suddenly slowed his pace, waited for Ye Chen to get closer, and said, ”Asura, you seem familiar with this black tide. On which island did you cultivate before? Why has the name never reached my ears?”

Ye Chen replied nonchalantly, ”Just a loose cultivator on a nameless island, it’s normal for Elder Qi to have never heard of me.”

A barely discernible chill flashed in Qi Yun’s eyes, ”This is just your first time, you’ll become familiar soon enough. Once this black tide passes and we’re out of the restricted area, our Ten Thousand Islands Sect would welcome you as a guest.”

Ye Chen: ”If there’s a chance, I indeed want to visit the Ten Thousand Islands Sect.”

Qi Yun: ”The Ten Thousand Islands Sect welcomes anyone with talent.”

Ye Chen responded with a simple ”Mm” and said no more.

Qi Yun also remained silent, quickening his pace.

Who knows how much time had passed.

Qi Yun suddenly said, ”Everyone wait here, I’ll go scout ahead.”

With that said.

Qi Yun swiftly departed alone.

Once Qi Yun had left, Ye Chen also prepared to leave.

”Senior Asura, this black tide is extremely dangerous. We should wait a bit for Elder Qi Yun. When we get to the lighthouse of the Ten Thousand Islands Sect, everyone will be safe.” An elder noticed Ye Chen’s intent to leave and persuaded him kindly.

Ye Chen: ”No problem, I’m used to moving alone. If my fate is truly to die in the black tide, then I accept it. Everyone, I wish you a safe passage out of the restricted area. Until we meet again.”

With that said, Ye Chen’s figure flashed, leaving the crowd, and in the blink of an eye, his figure was engulfed by the black tide.

...

Ahead of Elder Qi Yun of the Ten Thousand Islands Sect, in the surging black tide, stood an Emperor Realm evil spirit with a terrifying presence.

The Emperor Realm evil spirit glared at Qi Yun, snorted coldly, and said, ”Your Ten Thousand Islands Sect is getting too dithery in its affairs!”

Qi Yun lowered his voice, ”About six hundred people have been brought over, you’d better act quickly, make sure there are no loose ends.”

Evil Spirit King: ”What kind of strength do they hold?”

”One Emperor Realm, seven Great Saints, thirty-five ordinary Saint Realms, and one mysterious individual named Asura. I couldn’t quite gauge his strength. Be particularly cautious of him.”

The Evil Spirit King instantly revealed a sinister smile, ”Not bad, I’ll deal with them later, but as you know, Hentian Emperor is currently in desperate need of a large number of human souls.”

Qi Yun acknowledged, ”This batch is merely an appetizer, rest assured, there’s plenty more to follow, but don’t forget to deliver what you promised Emperor Tian Wan!”

”Calm down, Hentian Emperor has prepared everything; after the matter is concluded, the goods will naturally find their way into your hands.” The Evil Spirit King waved his hand, releasing a peculiar wave that spread instantly.

Immediately, within the black tide, numerous evil spirit presences emerged, all hurrying in the same direction.

Seeing this, Elder Qi Yun of the Ten Thousand Islands Sect quickly said, ”I’ll be off now.”

The Evil Spirit King responded, ”I will personally handle that Asura you mentioned.”

Evil separated from human.

Moments later.

Elder Qi Yun of the Ten Thousand Islands Sect halted, his expression darkened.

Because before him stood a masked figure.

”Asura, why are you here?” Qi Yun asked.

Ye Chen: ”I was worried Elder Qi Yun took so long to return, so I came to check.”

Qi Yun sighed in relief, thinking Asura hadn’t discovered his collusion with the evil spirit, and smiled, ”There was indeed a minor mishap earlier, but thankfully no harm done. I’ve already charted the course to the Ten Thousand Islands’ lighthouse. Let’s go, we’ll take everyone there for shelter.”

Ye Chen: ”Great news.”

The two approached one another.

”Asura...” Qi Yun was about to speak.

Ye Chen’s eyes, visible outside the mask, suddenly widened, ”Elder Qi Yun... behind you...”

Qi Yun instantly turned to look behind.

”Boom!”

A terrifying force exploded on his back, causing his flesh to burst apart!

”Asura... you...”

Qi Yun’s spirit cried in anger.

Ye Chen coldly snorted and slapped forward, a massive palm imprint crushing Qi Yun’s spirit.

Qi Yun’s spirit struggled frantically but was completely powerless against Ye Chen’s strength.

Qi Yun was engulfed by anger, fear, regret...

He was certain of one thing.

This Asura’s power was terrifyingly strong, even in a head-on clash, he was no match for Asura.

Yet, despite this strength, Asura resorted to a cunning ambush...

Clearly mighty, to stoop to such a devious attack...

Qi Yun was utterly regretful!

”Asura, what do you mean by this? I kindly led you to the lighthouse for shelter, and you repay kindness with enmity...” Qi Yun’s spirit shouted loudly.

Ye Chen sneered, ”What do I mean? More like what do you mean! Talking grandly about leading everyone to the lighthouse, but the reality? You gather everyone together just for them to die!

You really thought I saw nothing? Heard nothing?

Your Ten Thousand Islands Sect has truly abandoned any semblance of scruples, going so far as to collude with evil spirits against your human brethren!”

Qi Yun’s spirit continued to struggle, but it was to no avail.

”Asura, you’d better act like you know nothing and release me, or you’ll regret it. Our Ten Thousand Islands Sect has the Emperor Tian Wan, Celestial Wind Emperor, Celestial Child Emperor, and a Celestial-tier Divine Appraiser, soon Daoist Xue Dingchuan will also ascend to Great Emperor status. Those who oppose our sect never meet a good end!”

Ye Chen: ”Xue Dingchuan, that useless guy, is going to become a Great Emperor too?”

Qi Yun: ”Afraid now? Soon, our Ten Thousand Islands Sect will have four Great Emperors and one Celestial-tier Divine Appraiser. This force is enough to sweep across the Celestial Burial Sea. Acknowledge the situation and be wise, Asura, I can let this slide if you submit to the Ten Thousand Islands Sect!”

Ye Chen snorted.

”Xue Dingchuan is useless, Tong Dagou is not worth mentioning, and that dog couple Tian Wan and Celestial Wind are hardly impressive. You think I fear them? They should fear me!”

Qi Yun’s spirit rippled violently.

In the Celestial Burial Sea, there is only one person who speaks like that.

Ye Chen!

At that moment, Qi Yun realized Asura’s identity; it must be Ye Chen!

The next instant.

With a roar, Qi Yun’s spirit was shattered by Ye Chen.

Ye Chen extended his hand to capture Qi Yun’s remaining spirit shard, sneering, ”What was promised between the Ten Thousand Islands Sect and the evil spirits? Spill everything!”
