Supreme Sword God

Chapter 366: Chapter 365: Testing My Skills, Undercurrents Stirring

”Young Master Ye, our young master here is always busy forging weapons and doesn’t like being interrupted. Please wait a moment,” said the old butler.

Ye Chen nodded. Waiting a bit was no big deal. He himself didn’t like being interrupted while working.

About a quarter of an hour passed.

”Boom!”

Young Master Mu from the Mu Mansion struck down with his hammer, and immediately, a loud sound echoed. Chaotic energy swept through the space, casting a look of frustration over Young Master Mu’s face as he glanced at the sword he had just forged. He sighed and tossed it aside.

Beside him, a pile of discarded weapons were stacked like a small hill, evidently all failures!

”Young Master.”

The old butler of the Mu Mansion called out, saying, ”This is Ye Chen from the True Martial Hall, who has come specifically to the Mu Mansion to retrieve the long whip for Inspector Su.”

”Hmm, got it. You may leave now,” Young Master Mu said.

The old butler exited the large artifact refining room.

Young Master Mu walked over to Ye Chen and said, ”My father is out on business. The long whip for Inspector Su is in my father’s artifact refining room. Wait here for a moment, and I’ll get it for you.”

Ye Chen clasped his hands and smiled, ”Thank you, Young Master Mu.”

”It’s a small matter. I’ll be right back.”

Saying that, Young Master Mu turned and left.

Ye Chen continued to observe the artifact refining room, noting how many crafting materials were casually laid around, as well as several completed spiritual and magical artifacts.

Young Master Mu seemed quite trustful, not worrying that someone like Ye Chen might walk off with something. Though Ye Chen thought this, he was not that kind of person!

Soon, Ye Chen’s gaze fell on the sword that Young Master Mu had just discarded.

He had watched the entire process.

Young Master Mu’s handling of the Chaotic Cloak Celestial Spirit Hammer was not yet precise, leading to some discrepancies. The sword’s materials hadn’t fully fused.

Furthermore, Young Master Mu’s use of the Chaotic Cloak Celestial Spirit Hammer had only reached thirty-five strikes, not enough for a complete set!

Although Ye Chen hadn’t mastered the Chaotic Cloak Celestial Spirit Hammer for long, his comprehension was strong. He had always been using the hammer to strike his own body, to knock upon the Spirit Seal Gold Lump in his mind’s sea and the sword seed within his Dantian... As such, he had developed a deep understanding of the Chaotic Cloak Celestial Spirit Hammer.

This hammer technique is divided into three levels.

Thirty-six strikes, seventy-two strikes, and a hundred and eight strikes.

Ye Chen had currently mastered sixty-one strikes, which, although not especially skilled, was much more impressive than Young Master Mu.

With this thought, Ye Chen’s hands itched.

Maybe I should give it a try?

After all, everything here was discarded anyway, so trying shouldn’t be a problem!

Hence, Ye Chen went over to the pile of discarded weapons, casually picked up the sword that Young Master Mu had just thrown on top, and activated the Martial Arts True Eye in the depths of his pupils!

Under the observation of the Martial Arts True Eye, he clearly saw three areas of the sword where the materials had not fused properly, preventing the power from flowing smoothly.

”Zizi, spray some fire, burn these three spots,” Ye Chen said, pointing to the three flaws he had discovered.

The Little Phoenix, having just eaten three Black-winged Wind Chasing Horse demon cores, cooperatively spat out a burst of Phoenix flame, which divided into three parts. In a few blinks of an eye, it turned the indicated areas bright red!

”That’s enough!”

Ye Chen said softly. The next moment, he grabbed the large iron hammer placed aside by Young Master Mu. The sword energy within him surged, his arm muscles swelled, and he suddenly swung the hammer down.

”Clang, clang, clang!”

Ye Chen completed the first thirty-six strikes of the Chaotic Cloak Celestial Spirit Hammer three times in one breath!

After three rounds.

The three places where the sword’s materials hadn’t fused finally merged successfully. Ye Chen was quite satisfied with his handiwork.

However, the sword still didn’t reach any grade, as artifact refining involves more than just hammering iron; it also requires the techniques of a Spirit Master and a slew of intricate procedures.

Ye Chen casually tossed the sword back to where it was before, having just wanted to try it for fun without any intentions.

......

At this moment.

Inside Celestial Cyan City’s inner city, Qi Chuan, with his severed arm, stood dejectedly in front of a middle-aged man.

All three of them were cultivators in the Mortal Transformation Realm. Regrowing flesh and reconnecting severed limbs shouldn’t be difficult.

But unfortunately, Ye Chen didn’t let them take the three severed arms, and even had Little Phoenix burn them to a crisp!

Growing a new arm was also troublesome and couldn’t be done in a short time.

”Second Uncle, you oversee the prison in Celestial Cyan City. Please help us capture that rascal Ye Chen!” Qi Chuan said.

This middle-aged man, named Qi Yue, held some status in Celestial Cyan City. He frowned and said, ”Ye Chen is now with the True Martial Hall. Arresting him rashly could cause trouble.”

Qi Chuan said, ”Second Uncle, our branch of the Qi Family is already not well-regarded within the clan. If I can’t even avenge this humiliation, our branch will be looked down upon even more.”

Celestial Cyan City was managed by three major families, with the Qi Family being one of them.

Although Qi Chuan belonged to the Qi Family, he came from a less influential branch.

His only successful connection was his second uncle, Qi Yue.

”Prison Director Qi, capturing Ye Chen isn’t a big deal. Just say that you need him to cooperate with an investigation, give him a little beating, and then release him. The True Martial Hall wouldn’t make a fuss for the sake of a mere One-star True Martial Guard!” Wang Shu chimed in from the side.

Qi Yue pondered for a moment, then nodded and said, ”Alright, I’ll send someone to find him.”

”No need to search. I’ve checked; he went to the Mu Mansion. Just capture him after he comes out!” Qi Chuan quickly said.

......

Celestial Soldier Pavilion.

”Elder Qi, I can assure you with certainty that the one who severed Qi Chuan’s arm was indeed Ye Chen,” a man earnestly affirmed, standing before Elder Qi of the Celestial Soldier Pavilion.

Elder Qi’s eyes flickered.

This Ye Chen likely had an impressive background; even the Nine Pavilion Master Luo Hong of the Celestial Soldier Pavilion acted subserviently in front of him.

”Do you know where Ye Chen went?”

”To the Mu Mansion.”

Elder Qi pondered for a moment and said, ”Go wait outside the Mu Mansion. Once Ye Chen comes out, invite him to the Celestial Soldier Pavilion as a guest. Remember, be absolutely respectful!”

”Yes, sir!”

......

Inside the artifact refining room of the Mu Mansion, Young Master Mu returned with the long whip. In his hand was a finely carved long rectangular wooden box.

”Young Master Ye, this is the exquisite Dao-grade artifact that Inspector Su entrusted my father to craft. Please take a look.”

Saying this, Young Master Mu opened the box.

Inside the box was a long whip, faintly shimmering with gold, exuding a strong aura.

”Inspector Su really likes using this kind of weapon...” Ye Chen murmured internally, picturing the image of the elegant Su Yun holding a whip.

Better not to offend her in the future... just imagining being tied up and whipped by Su Yun gives one chills.

”I cannot tell much by looking at it, but since it’s crafted by Grandmaster Mu himself, there should be no issues,” Ye Chen politely said as he accepted the box and stored it in his Storage Ring.

”Young Master Ye, I need to continue practicing weapon crafting, so I won’t ask you to stay longer.”

”Then I won’t disturb you any further, Young Master Mu. Farewell.”

Ye Chen clasped his hands and then left the Mu Mansion.
