Martial Arts: I Have Diligence Reward System

This is an astronomical figure, without taxation, it’s simply a joke.

But the Daoist sect doesn’t pay taxes, and martial artists don’t need to go to battle, aren’t these privileges a bit too much?

It’s simply excessive!

”Actually, in the Divine Land, the Daoist sect is a very special existence.

”This financial street, the Daoist sect has four high-rises, and in the Elixir Group and Weaponry Group, as well as other official groups related to martial artists, the Daoist sect holds corresponding shares.

”To be honest, the Daoist sect is indeed not poor.”

Bai Yeqing nodded.

Not exactly rich enough to rival a nation, but if you consider the Daoist sect as an enterprise, then it would be the largest group in the world, no exception.

Even the ancient Divine Court of the Western countries is no match for the Shen Zhou Daoist Sect in terms of size.

”Isn’t this a bit unfair?

”The Daoist sect holds such vast properties, and you martial artists don’t even need to go to battle, too comfortable, aren’t you?

”Daoist Bai, don’t mind, I’m just complaining, no other meaning.”

Su Yue opened a can of cold cola, needing to calm down.

To be honest, it’s really uncomfortable inside.

I’m fortunate to have the system’s assistance, barely managed to establish a few merits in the Military Department.

While Yang Lezhi and Meng Yang, they’ve suffered greatly, haven’t they?

Fighting with their lives in the wetland frontier, ultimately ending up in debt, actually, Meng Yang and the others are lucky, there are even more martial artists, who lose their lives just for a single elixir.

Su Yue even had a feeling.

This Daoist sect... is it a parasite?

It’s so unfair.

”Actually, it’s quite normal for official martial artists not to take a liking to the Daoist sect, the Daoist sect used to come out to explain, but in recent years, the elders of the Daoist sect have stopped explaining.

”Since we have some free time today, let me briefly explain the Daoist sect to you.”

Bai Yeqing let out a bitter laugh.

Indeed, Su Yue was starting to feel indignant, it’s quite normal, he could understand.

Official martial artists, shedding blood and tears, ultimately one poorer than the other, it’s no wonder Su Yue feels uneasy.

”First, it’s about the Daoist sect not paying taxes.

”This matter, needs to be traced back hundreds of years, when aliens occupied half of Earth’s territory, human’s living space reduced, already on the brink of danger.

”It was the predecessors of the Daoist sect who established the first generation of martial arts.

”You could say that at that time, the Daoist sect could easily replace the government, but of course, the first commandment of the Daoist sect is reclusive cultivation, strictly prohibiting interference with the government, finally returning power to the government.

”The government remembered the kindness from the Daoist sect, hence promised that the Daoist sect could trade without taxes, and some property of the four major cities were approved by the government back then.”

Bai Yeqing said.

”So that’s how it is, seems there’s nothing wrong!”

Su Yue nodded.

The Daoist sect did once save the day, then didn’t fight for power, rewarding them with some privileges is reasonable.

In ancient times, such meritorious contributions would be granted titles and nobility.

The Daoist sect isn’t without sacrifices, it’s just that the sacrifices of predecessors benefit the descendants.

Seems like my thoughts were narrow-minded.

”Second, is the issue of Daoist martial artists not going to the wetland frontier.

”This point, is also the government’s privilege, but it’s a matter of balance.

”First, the defense of the country should inherently be the government’s responsibility, this you should shoulder the burden without any objections.

”As for the Daoist sect, we’re just a group of hermits, pursuing different things.

”The goal of the government is for the citizens to live and work in peace, for the country to prosper.

”While the pursuit of the Daoist sect is transcendence, is immortality.

”You may see the Daoist sect as wealthy, but compared with the government, it’s just a drop in the ocean, moreover the Daoist sect’s expenses are vast, it’s not as rich as you imagine.”

Bai Yeqing added.

”What expenses could the Daoist sect have?”

Su Yue was curious.

He heard that the disciples of the Daoist sect are not many, with so much money, there’s no worry about elixirs.

It’s almost like the entire Divine Land is supporting one Daoist sect.

Of course, it’s not that the Daoist sect is taking advantage.

Su Yue had read in some books, that many of the elixirs in the Divine Land today are optimized and modified based on the Daoist sect’s elixir recipes.

The foundations of the Divine Land’s elixirs are originally from the Daoist sect.

Again, it’s the matter of benefiting the descendants.

The predecessors of the Daoist sect made great efforts, now it’s the turn of the descendants to enjoy the prosperity.

It’s like the logic of a family benefitting from demolition.

The elders worked hard to build houses, when it comes time for demolition, the descendants rise to the skies in a single bound.

This sort of affair, can only be attributed to fate.

”Actually, the Daoist sect’s pursuit of immortality and transcendence is a kind of battle, countless predecessors died because of it.”

Bai Yeqing sighed, there was a hint of melancholy on his face.

”Battle? Death? Who are the rivals of the Daoist sect? Isn’t it the eight tribes of the wetland frontier?”

Su Yue was puzzled.

He was increasingly confused, yet looking at Bai Yeqing’s expression, he seemed genuine and not deliberately pretentious.

”The enemy of the Daoist sect is itself, it’s this sky, it’s the rules of the Dao, it’s the confinement of heaven and earth.

”When you attended Wuda, you should have studied history, you should know why the wetland frontier appeared. Do you understand the origin of aliens?”

Bai Yeqing asked.

”Yes, I do.”

Su Yue nodded.

This was a knowledge point taught in the potential class.

In the 21st century, when human space exploration reached its peak, they went to explore the universe.

Who knew, the mysteries of the universe weren’t unraveled, but instead, the barrier of the wetland frontier broke, almost leading to the destruction of Earth by alien races.

”In places unknown to Earth, there’s the wetland frontier.

”Is it merely the wetland frontier?

”Now Earth’s martial arts have matured significantly, at least there’s barely enough capability for self-preservation but this doesn’t mean Earth can afford to relax.

”In this dark universe, who knows what other demons and monsters exist.
