Martial Arts: I Have Diligence Reward System

Xu Baiyan and Yang Lezhi also returned to Northern Wu.

Yang Lezhi laughed all the way, as long as Xu Baiyan was by his side, he was particularly happy.

”Yang Lezhi, I’ve never seen you so diligent and eager to learn before. Why are you suddenly so keen on the Yangxiang language?”

Xu Baiyan asked curiously.

This guy walks around holding a tablet, almost to the point of obsession.

They were both already at the fourth rank, so there were no mandatory tasks upon returning to Northern Wu, meaning they weren’t too busy.

Xu Baiyan didn’t need to say much.

She completed the mission in Thunder Sacrifice City and received a large number of reward credits.

Yang Lezhi didn’t get much, but since he participated in the Mao Yao City battle, his rewards weren’t too little either.

”I want to develop in all areas so that I can better protect you.”

Yang Lezhi said affectionately.

He had a premonition that he was about to succeed.

”You’re sick!”

Xu Baiyan laughed.

She touched the scar behind her ear, and her mood, which was initially quite good, immediately sank to the depths of the sea.

Why am I not a pure human?

Being without parents is one thing, but why must I endure this misfortune?

Truly laughable.

...

Thunder Race.

The ninth race of the Moisture Realm, Xu Baiyan is a descendant of this already exterminated clan.

I am also an alien race, which is why the Divine Cabinet and Yao Chenqing snatched me away from my father back then.

A long time ago, there were nine races in the Moisture Realm, one of which was the Thunder Race.

But the Thunder Race was very weak, yet it occupied the site of the Eight Races Sacred Land, and by a stroke of fate, they were exterminated by the united Eight Races.

Xu Baiyan survived because, at the last moment, the Thunder Race created a disguise tactic and sent several orphans to Earth.

Afterwards, these orphans thrived and multiplied, but over time, most had their bloodlines severed.

Eventually, only Xu Baiyan remained on Earth.

And in the Moisture Realm, records of the Thunder Race are few and far between.

The Thunder Race’s racial talent was to manipulate the power of thunder and lightning.

A pure Thunder Race had an ugly appearance, with skin in a transparent state.

Yes!

Transparent.

Through the skin, one could see muscles and blood vessels flowing, could see the internal organs.

In order to survive on Earth, the Thunder Race integrated the disguise tactic into their bloodline, so the final offspring had human-like skin.

But this camouflage technique wasn’t without its flaws.

Whenever the Thunder Race manipulated lightning once, a portion of the skin’s disguise would be stripped away.

Once stripped, it could never be restored permanently.

Thus, the scar behind Xu Baiyan’s ear is transparent skin, which cannot be restored at all.

As for the Thunder Slash Platform, it was originally a demonic artifact of the Thunder Race, only to be borrowed by the Yangxiang Race for a time.

The Thunder Race’s descendants lived on Earth and even joined the Divine Land Armed Forces, attempting to use Earth Martial Artists for revenge.

But the Thunder Race was unlucky.

When Xu Baiyan’s elders gathered, they were found by the Yangxiang Sect and all brutally murdered.

At that time, Xu Baiyan was merely an infant.

Su Qingfeng and Yao Chenqing arrived just in time, killing the Yangxiang Race people and saving Xu Baiyan.

Thus, Xu Baiyan has two foster fathers.

One is Su Qingfeng, the other is Yao Chenqing.

The Thunder Race had clear memories even in infancy, which is different from the human race.

So Xu Baiyan witnessed the Yangxiang Sect slaughtering her clansmen.

She also witnessed Su Qingfeng and Yao Chenqing slaughtering the Yangxiang Sect beasts, which could be considered revenge for her clansmen.

As a child, Su Qingfeng and Yao Chenqing competed for favor, even fighting to raise her for one more day.

Yao Chenqing, even more so, held Xu Baiyan in his arms wherever he went.

At that time, Xu Baiyan even thought Yao Chenqing loved her more than Su Qingfeng, especially since Su Qingfeng had Su Yue already.

But in the end, everything changed.

A command from the Divine Cabinet demanded they hand Xu Baiyan over to the Divine Land Research Institute.

Moreover, the Research Institute made it clear that they wanted to utilize Xu Baiyan’s Thunder Race identity to control the Thunder Slash Platform.

Su Qingfeng disagreed at that time.

He believed the Thunder Race was entirely extinct and Xu Baiyan was a normal human.

At least wait until Xu Baiyan was an adult and ask for her opinion.

At that time, Xu Baiyan was very anxious.

But with two fathers, she wasn’t afraid of anything.

Xu Baiyan believed the people who loved her most in the world were her two fathers.

But who would have thought, Yao Chenqing handed her over to the Research Institute himself.

Su Qingfeng was furious. He went personally to the Research Institute to demand her back, but how could he possibly shake the entire cabinet’s power?

Xu Baiyan watched as Su Qingfeng was struck down by the strong, Su Qingfeng really did his best.

But what about Yao Chenqing!

He watched coldly, without speaking a word on my behalf.

And so.

Xu Baiyan spent her childhood in a cold laboratory, growing all the way to the high school potential class.

During this time, only on some holidays could she see Su Qingfeng, and the various experiments were truly painful for Xu Baiyan.

But Yao Chenqing was indifferent.

So Xu Baiyan resented Yao Chenqing, she even attempted suicide countless times, but Su Qingfeng discouraged her.

Finally, Xu Baiyan reached an agreement with the Divine Cabinet.

She would help the cabinet activate the Thunder Slash Platform once, after which she could regain her freedom.

This was why Xu Baiyan willingly appeared in Thunder Sacrifice City.

In fact, the Research Institute was also at a loss.

The Thunder Race had disguised themselves on Earth for too long, and apart from being able to manipulate lightning, they were no different from ordinary martial artists, in reality, there was no research value.

Xu Baiyan’s aptitude wasn’t even much stronger than other martial artists.
