Bear School Astartes

In a world where there should be no chaos magic power, the demon hunter’s badge reacted!

This situation, which he hadn’t encountered before, left Lann dumbfounded for five whole seconds.

”This... no, there’s no chaos magic power here, just residue of chaos magic power.”

Based on the vibration amplitude of the roaring bear head badge, Lann roughly estimated the situation.

There is no magical device here, nor has any warlock cast spells here.

Yet even this residue of chaos magic power lasts longer than the Yarden magic seal he just released.

Undoubtedly, whatever brought this ’residue’ must be a powerful magical artifact.

”Did it come through with me from the celestial sphere convergence?”

This should be the only reasonable explanation.

Lann searched all around the balcony, aiming for the ’residue’ that caused the badge to react.

Finally, under the silver dish used to hold snacks on the table, the demon hunter found his target.

It was a bloodstained note.

The large bloodstain on it, from the traces, seemed to have been coughed up by the writer himself.

Yet the content of the note appeared very... after considering for a while, Lann found ’fanatical’ not an exaggeration to describe it.

”I’ve arrived, Brison. With my followers. They are now starving to death, we have killed every village along the way, but my warriors and I are still unsatisfied. Simply using this blood to please Ares is too insincere.

Yes, we are now eager to offer more to Ares.

Brison, you really should be more devout. Let me tell you, devotion pays off!!! You would never expect what kind of gift Ares granted us!”

Finally, under the cover of the blood, Lann saw the ending on the note.

”Forget the task of killing Phidias, is an artist worth so much effort? Fully assist us in finding the Son of the Giant God, bloodline cultivators will give you the reward you deserve.

Come meet me in the caves outside Athens, Brison. Once we meet you’ll know, from now on, the goodwill of the bloodline cultivators is the most valuable thing.

—Your loyal friend, Hapalos”

Bloodline Cultivators.

Lann muttered this name in his heart, it also appeared in Erpinuo’s venomous words before dying, and it sounded specifically targeted at him.

”Ares’s grace... did they take the magic device brought by the celestial sphere convergence as divine favor?”

Lann placed the note into his alchemy pouch, and the roaring bear head badge on his neck immediately calmed down.

Alright, even without Alcibiades acting as a persuader, he was ready to quickly deal with Brison.

Whether it’s the order divine sect branch——bloodline cultivators, specifically targeting him, or the unknown magical device brought by the celestial sphere convergence.

All these are far more important than a handsome man born into an art family.

Truly speaking: retrieving magical devices that may draw attention in a foreign world counts as the most crucial task for Lann.

Because this also belongs to the scope of work agreed with the Lady of the Lake.

Immediately, Lann walked down from the third-floor balcony.

Slaves and servants along the way, their positions were locked in advance by the demon hunter’s supernatural senses, allowing Lann to reach the entrance of the basement without disturbing anyone using the stealth step.

In the midst, he even brushed past a cooking maid back-to-back.

Gently opening the trapdoor on the ground, Lann stepped down soundlessly.

Then standing on the ladder, he released the Yarden seal upwards, sealing off this basement exit.

In his eyes, the amber-colored cat eyes had narrowed into a slit.

In the demon hunter’s senses, the positions of five people could already be marked by their voices behind the door after entering the entrance.

The slight collision sound of armor, friction sound between blades and leather straps, human breathing sounds blocked by face armor...

Lann stood in front of the door, gently twisting his neck.

”Boom!”

A loud noise, the sturdy wooden door was smashed open by a tall shadow, as crisp as someone breaking through a cardboard door.

Sawdust and dust burst out, bounced off the armor of the people in the room.

Nobody was prepared for the shadow that rushed in!

Or rather, even if they were prepared, it probably wouldn’t do much good.

Rushing in according to the positions locked long ago, Lann immediately grabbed a divine guard’s neck upon smashing the door!

Exemplary strength for an ordinary person felt like a reluctant-to-bathe kitten in his hand.

Without immediately snapping the neck, Lann used a stance similar to using a shield to push the divine guard forward!

One second after breaking the door, followed by another dull ”boom” sound.

Lann collided into a brute soldier among the divine guards, his larger physique and strength barely kept him from being directly knocked flying by Lann.

But this seemed to have given him an illusion... thinking he could actually contend with the opposing power.

”Marla...”

The subconscious curse hadn’t finished being uttered, nor had the axe in the divine guard brute’s hand been raised.

Only hearing a ’click’, the sound of a mechanical loading echoed in the basement.

And that brute soldier finally looked up, meeting eyes with Lann who rushed in.

Those cat’s eyes were very calm.

”[Alder]!”

”Boom!”

From the mechanical structure of his wrist guard, chaos magic power propelled special rounds out.

The gathered force pushed the round out of the barrel at supersonic speed.

The divine guard being held and the brute soldier behind him, their bodies trembled simultaneously.

The bullet penetrated through the first person’s body, with Lann deliberately choosing an unarmored area.

Then after piercing the brute soldier’s armor, it tumbled inside his body, not completely penetrating him.

In less than two seconds since Lann broke into the door, two well-equipped and well-trained divine guards had already collapsed limply.

Only two people remained in the basement besides Lann.

One was still a divine guard, and the other was Lann’s target this time, Brison.

At this moment, the handsome man from an art family matched Alcibiades’s evaluation.

Revealed a panic that made it hard to take him seriously.

But then, as if Lann’s gaze stung Brison’s sensitive nerves.

The handsome man first stunned by the incident and then with a fearful expression, gritted his teeth and twisted his expression in a snarl.

”I swear by my life, by the lives I will take from others, I won’t let anyone underestimate me again!”
