Blood Awakening: The Strongest Hybrid and His Vampire Bride

Nikolai stepped out of the room with a smile after his mother returned the necklace to rest her soul. He couldn’t help grip his fists and cycle the blood inside him. ”She accepted.” Elated, he couldn’t help but fist the air. ”Finally.” His work, his dream and goal...

”N-Nikolai...” A nervous voice called out to him.

”Hm?”

He turned to the voice and found both Amphitrite and Lunaria wearing light summer clothes at the top of the stairs. In his current mood, he stepped closer to them and waved. ”Hey, my lovely wives!”

’I feel so good!’

Elizabeth mentioned that meeting with the young mistress from the Jhin clan might be the best choice for Nikolai.

However, she also told him to avoid rushing and to wait for what they learned from Sasha and Marianne first. He didn’t feel the need to rush because he had already waited a year since learning of his mother’s existence.

”N-Nikolai... we have something to tell you.”

”We? It’s you...”

Amphitrite’s voice lacked the usual confidence, shaking slightly as she hugged her arms.

’Strange, what’s wrong with her?’

Nikolai didn’t mind, since he had spoken with his mother, and Anastasia hadn’t called for him, so there wasn’t much else to do.

”Shall we talk in here?” He pointed to the room facing the ocean beside him. Inside the group, they found an expensive coffee table near a huge L-shaped sofa and a small fire built into the wall, painted to resemble an old-style log burner.

All three sat on the sofa, one to each side of Nikolai. On the table, one of the maids brought in a cold jug of lemonade with ice. ”I’ll pour.” Nikolai was a little confused by their nervousness.

He couldn’t force them to speak but chose to wait while filling the three cups. A soft pair of hands rubbed his right arm, followed by Lunaria’s voice whispering in his ear, ”Kai, can you... make love to me again tonight?”

Nikolai’s mind went blank hearing her question.

”Y-Yeah, of course.” He couldn’t help but smile back. She didn’t need to ask him, but he wouldn’t complain.

”Hehe, I can’t wait.”

Despite seeming strange, her bright smile and pleased face melted those doubts.

”Nikolai, erm...” Amphitrite hesitated to speak.

However, when Nikolai looked at her in worry, his eyes widened and lowered to her stomach... although soon he could feel it. Multiple pulses of aura, neither his nor Amphitrite’s, but a mixture of his Obsidian tide and her pink energy. ”Amphi...!” He called her name with a low grunt and hugged her.

The thin scent of salt and sweetness from her made him lean in, his nose brushing her neck as he held her body against his, his palm slowly rubbing her abdomen. ”My... are we having a kid?”

”Haa...!?” Her voice turned inside out, while Lunaria giggled beside them.

’I see...’

In the past, she mentioned being pregnant, but he couldn’t sense the change in scent or aura like the other women. He noticed Nikita more easily, while Selene took longer, but the changes in Amphitrite were faster than those in anyone else.

’I didn’t even notice yesterday...’

”You are! Haha, wow!” Nikolai kissed her, his fangs grazing her lips, ”Ah!”

Her body trembled in his arms, as she let out a pleasant hum, blushing when he rubbed her abdomen with a bright smile on his face. ’So many changes all of a sudden.’ ”We need to celebrate, what should we do? Champagne? Juice? Do you want to invite the others to this room so we can sit with them?”

Amphitrite’s cheeks turned red, and she looked at Nikolai with a warm smile. ”I didn’t think you would be so happy about this...”

”Why wouldn’t I? Haven’t you also dreamed of this for a long time?”

”Eh... how did you?”

Nikolai’s eyes softened, and he lifted her onto his lap, hugging her from behind. ”Did you not understand how your face changed when the other’s spoke of their pregnancy, or when you saw mothers in the road?”

At first, he didn’t think much of it, but after it continued happening again and again, he realised that it wasn’t just a passing fancy.

Lunaria moved around and sat on the other side, stroking Amphitrite’s hair with a warm smile.

”Then... you know how important this is, right?” Amphitrite’s eyes fluttered, her blue iris shining like the ocean reflected in the distance. ”This might be the first time in millennia.” Her voice lowered at the end of her sentence, as she leaned back against Nikolai’s chest.

”Then we have to protect that...”

After a moment, in the silence, he touched her face. ”And you, of course.” He kissed her forehead.

”Do you mean it?” Her big eyes filled with water, ”I don’t have money, special powers or the ability to help your clan rise.”

”Is that how you really think?”

”I’m just a revenant of a fallen race.”

Amphitrite’s hands gripped Nikolai’s chest tightly.

Nikolai didn’t like how she acted like she was begging him. He didn’t think of her in that sense from the moment she appeared. Amphitrite helped him in ways he couldn’t put into words. The idea to create a body for his mother only reached this level thanks to her.

That’s why he responded in a stern tone. ”I don’t agree. You are my wife, and the one I love, and more than that, the woman carrying our child.”

She froze, as if not sure what to think.

No, I should be happy.

A smile bloomed on her lips.

”Thank you...”

”I should thank you instead, Amphi...”

Nikolai kissed the top of her head, followed by the tip of her nose, and then her cheeks. His warm breath tickled her neck before biting down gently, her soft voice echoed as a small bead of blood rolled into his mouth.

”...I feel stupid for worrying.”

”I don’t mind, but I hope you understand that you’re not alone.”

Luna sighed and poked his shoulder, ”that’s right, you have so many sisters to share the burden.”

Although the women didn’t openly fight like they did before, there were still some clashes. But when it came to their children and pregnancies, everything changed, and they became closer as a group. ”When we get back, we have to tell the others, and everything will be okay!”

Nikolai only wondered about one thing while stroking Amphitrite’s head.

”Um... Amphi, how many children does a mermaid usually have?”

He only asked because the number of faint aura lights growing stronger with each passing moment numbered more than six, and there might even be over ten.

The moment he asked, her soft scales became deep blue, while her cheeks pink like her hair. ”T-Thats...”

Her mouth opened, and she started to speak, but then stopped and looked into his eyes with a strange expression.

”...”

”Eh? Amphi?”

She glanced away for a second before speaking.

”One.”

’...Mm, that’s what I expected.’ Nikolai thought at first, but then he noticed her fingers, which were tapping on his arms, were shaking, and he turned her body around.

”One dozen.”

”...”

”Oh my god!” Luna gasped with a wide grin.

”A dozen, as in twelve?”

Amphitrite nodded while lowering her eyes and avoiding Nikolai’s gaze. ”We usually have many eggs that are replenished once a month like huamsn. But not all get fertilised, so it’s not unusual to have a dozen at once. But normally only a few managed to get fertilised... Nikolai, just how virile are you that all of my eggs were fertilised?”

She turned away from him as if embarrassed about her words.

’...is it because I am a hybrid?’

Nikolai didn’t know how to respond, but now realised that all of his women, apart from Leona and Kumiko, were pregnant. The time he thought Kumiko became pregnant was when it was one of her clones...

Although this was an interesting development, the pregnancies made Nikolai happy.

However, with each pregnancy, the situation became increasingly dangerous.

Enemies would be able to use this moment when the mothers lose their usual strength and explosive speed to capture or kill them.

”It’s fine, I will take care of them all.” He wouldn’t shun his duty, after all, he came inside her knowing this might happen.

”Nn...” Amphitrite acting shy and submissive amused Nikolai.

The door opened, and a familiar face entered. ”So you’ve knocked up another one, son?” Ivan stepped inside wearing a cliché Hawaiian shirt and a pair of shorts with flip-flops. Despite his grumpy voice, his smile covered his face.

”I see, another daughter and plenty of cute granddaughters...”

”Ah... Father-In-Law?”

Ivan’s eyes turned to slits, ”Just call me dad, Amphi, you are part of this family, as are all my daughters.”

”Father...” She said in a soft voice before smiling brightly.

”Well, that will do... I have something to ask my dumb boy, do you mind?” He spoke to Nikolai’s wives in a soft and calm tone, quite unlike his usual manner.

”There is no problem,Father. Come on, Luna.”

Amphitrite dragged Luna out of the room while looking back several times at Nikolai.

It was clear that she wanted to be alone with him, but Nikolai winked back at her with a smile, mouthing ”later.”

When they left, Nikolai looked at his dad and leaned forward. ”So, what’s the deal?”

”It’s related to Kumiko and her brother’s current situation.”

”???”
