Rebirth In A Global Apocalypse: I Awakened The Hidden Class 'Rich Man'

”There is nothing much we can dox about it at the moment, Sage,” Hazel said with a concerned expression on her face.

If Brad and one of the twins cleared all the floors they could and reaped the benefits, it would only force them to go to lower floors, and with the building’s residents preparing to make a move as well, things were getting more complicated.

However, no matter how capable they might be, as awakeners, they all have a limited amount of mentality points that recover quite slowly after use; so everyone could rest easy knowing there were just so many floors they could clear without tiring out.

Not everyone was like Harvey and Mildred; unless a non-awakened has some hot weapon in their possession, something like a pistol or a shotgun, most usually just flee and run into hiding.

The clock ticked by, and once it struck 12 p.m., a resounding notification blasted through everyone’s systems. This took a lot of people by surprise. Then Damon recalled a timing with a familiar timing in the event section set to go off by this time; only the announcement was most shocking—

[Remaining Non-Mutant Population— 45%]

[Civilization Safe From Forced Extinction]

[A Global Population Census Of Less Than 10% Will Lead To Trial Failure]

[Good Luck]

Everyone in the penthouse living room, as well as every other corner of the globe, was left in extreme shock. Everyone believed that it was every man for themselves, but it turns out survival depends on everyone.

[Regional Chat (#058-34)

Peter Parker43: ”HOLLY SHIT!! IS THIS FOR REAL”

Olivia Parker: ”Why do you always have to scream like that, Peter? ”

Rachel Adams: ”See, Big Daddy @RockHard69. You need to hurry and save this sweet girl; everyone’s survival is at stake.”

Orion Blackridge: ”Damn!. So this means, no matter how good you are at surviving, at the end of the day, we are all doomed to destruction.”

GrampsOtaku: ”@Orion Blackridge. Why say that?. At least we can all make sure the regulars around us are also safe. We can certainly keep the population stable at the current value.”

BaldSaint: ”@GrampsOtaku check the population count, it’s already dropped to 44% lol”

GrampsOtaku: ”@GrampsOtaku Fuck.”

CelestialGoddess92: ”@GrampsOtaku who would truly care about the census, or the lives of regulars?. From what I have seen, humans are as much monsters as those mutants out there; maybe more so. We just might lead to our own destruction.”

AllSeeingEyes: ”@CelestialGoddess92 Hey bro, where have you been, man? Congrats on the achievement, how the hell did you do that?”

LagLord69: ”@CelestialGoddess92 Hah, the star is finally here again. Show us your ways, senior. How the fuck strong are you?”

CelestialGoddess92: ”Hahaha. Just been very lucky, not strong at all. Just luck, my friends. And the last few hours have been particularly rough, so I couldn’t chat, sorry.”

The chat channels were abuzz with discussions about what this development presented. The military of every country, especially, was starting to give more priority to rescuing the regular civilians.

But there’s only so much that can be done; just like mutants hunt down humans for food, even other humans are killing each other all across the globe for the sake of their greed. Hopefully, this news will cause them to exercise more caution in such acts since it endangers even their own survival.

Somewhere else, inside a large modern living room.

A muscular man with short brown hair and dark eyes lay sprawled on a massive couch, with a blonde-haired beauty lying between his legs. She wore only a fishnet dress with a g-string and no bra.

There were also multiple rough-looking men seated randomly around the room, smoking, drinking, and looking menacing.

”Has he not contacted you still ?” the burly man spoke calmly.

”No, he hasn’t!” the girl responded.

”Strange. I expected that fool to run over here with all the convincing you did. Guess he isn’t such a fool after all,” The man muttered with a frown.

”He must have a lot of origin crystals on him; what a shame. Still, keep trying, though.”

”Okay. I will,” the girl muttered reluctantly.

Her charms had been very helpful in luring unsuspecting prey to their nest; Prey who are predicted to have a lot of origin crystals on them. People were starting to catch on to the former method of advertising safe shelters, so this was the current best play.

Where the girl lay, she quickly accessed her private chat and located her current prey—

[Private Chat]

My dear, are you alright?. I haven’t heard from you since.

Victim 4: Yes, I am; it’s just a bit hard to get to the location you gave me, so I have been very busy

My love. Please hurry, I don’t think I can hold on for much longer.

Victim 4: Don’t worry, my love. I’m on my way right now. I will save you!

Hurry, please, baby. Please hurry... sob sob.

Victim 4: I’m coming right now, I swear it!!

The girl ended the chat, turning to the man she was lying on his leg, and informed him with a sadistic smile—

”He’s still coming. I think it’s just so hard getting here because of all the mutants. He should make it here, that’s if he survives.

”Hahahaha!!..... Such a loser!” came a scornful laugh out of one of the other men inside, and the rest subsequently all burst into laughter.

It was very dangerous to hunt mutants; you risk being killed and eaten; but simply luring victims to them had proved to be a very lucrative way of operating business.

They were formerly a loan shark enterprise; now that the trial had begun, they had to reinvent themselves. Luckily, Tristan, who was the boss of this place, was not an ordinary awakened as well.

Tristan wore a crooked grin as he moved his right hand into the girl’s lower private region on the couch.

”Hm...” she moaned softly, as she praised their boss—

”You the best, daddy...nngh!.”
