Genetic Ascension

Chapter 1645 Love

Amende roared into the skies, his fury peeling through the layers of the world. He had never felt so suffocated in his life-it was as though magma was rolling through his veins, charring his heart and burning his inner organs to ash.

And yet, as though to add insult to injury, this outward display of emotion only gave Sylas more openings to take advantage of one rain of attacks after another, comboing in a relentless tidal wave.

Sylas had been ready for others to interfere at any moment now, but the irony of it all was that they were stricken by too much fear to do so. They werenʼt afraid of what Sylas would do to them-though that worry was certainly increasing with every passing moment.

Their real fear was Amende tearing them limb from limb. Which of them wasnʼt aware of his fiery temper? Which of them didnʼt know the sort of punishment they would experience for getting on his bad side?

They had entire armies, and yet not one of them even thought of trying to interfere.

BOOM. BOOM. BOOM.

Sylasʼ attacks became heavier and heavier the more time they spent not interfering, swapping between his Comprehensions as though they were weapons on a holster.

The power of his Skills at completed Mastery stood on an unfathomable level. His stats only read around 270,000, but his telekinesis often more than doubled it, and when his Skills-formed of not just one, but two separate Legendary Gene Classes-were added in, it at least doubled once more, if not more.

And not a single one of these stats included his Combat Matrix at all.

When his Perfect Spark Mastery was taken into account-especially on a battlefield of the E-Grade-the gap between himself and Amende only shrank more, and more, and more on top of that.

Cut off from his ability to use Runes and Skills, Amende might have had stats surpassing two million... but what good was it when Sylasʼ advantages stacked atop one another and were also approaching those very same numbers?

How powerful were a pair of Legendary Gene Classes? How strong was a Perfect Spark Master? How overwhelming was an A-Grade Race?

It felt like, for the very first time, Sylasʼ potential was all exploding at once, a relentless assault only becoming harsher... And yet the gap between himself and Amende was only growing.

That was because Sylas didnʼt just have two Legendary Gene Classes, he wasnʼt just a Perfect Spark Master, and he wasnʼt just the Progenitor of an A-Grade Race... He also had three Legendary Professions.

One was responsible for the current state of his body being unearthed more and more with every passing moment. The wilder his actions became, the more unbridled his strikes, the more violent his series of combinations, the deeper his foundation was dug, the more of his hidden strength was ripped up and reorganized.

The second was responsible for Runes in the air obeying his every command. He had little control over E-Grade Runes on his own, but Runeweaver was already capable of controlling D-Grade Runes.

If he said to go left... they wouldnʼt dare go right.

And the third Profession... even at just Level 1... even though it had yet to level up a single time... It was laying bare before him every nook and cranny of Amendeʼs Race. Every strength, every weakness, every path of improvement, and every divot of regression they had fallen into.

He poked at those weaknesses with Madness, stirring the rage and fury in Amendeʼs heart with every passing moment. The latter grew stronger as a result, but his attacks became more unbridled, more uncontrolled, more unpredictable... The problem was that they were unpredictable not to Sylas, but to Amende himself.

The sickening sound of ripping flesh filled the air as Amende raised his fists above his head again. His muscles bulged so much they ripped his tendons from the bone, blood boiling as hot as lava spraying through the air.

Amende didnʼt seem to realize in the slightest as Sylas took a strong step forward instead of retreating.

Sylasʼ palm soared through the air, one Rune after another stacking on top of themselves as though a series of steadily growing magic circles.

The world lit up and Sylasʼ eyes flashed with a tesseract, his Perfect Spark Seed rolling with a misty gold through the air as a bloody grin filled his face.

He loved this.

He loved it so much he could hardly put it into words.

BOOM.

His palm slammed into Amendeʼs chest.

Life Seal.

Pa.

Amendeʼs chest exploded open like a blooming flower, his ribcage splaying open, his heart rupturing, and his inner organs turning into a mess of flesh and blood.

Crimson heat sprayed across Sylas, coating his chest, his face, and his hair—so hot it sizzled and steamed. But he didnʼt seem to notice at all, the blood vaporizing before it could even touch his eyes.

Lines of blazing Glassvolt extended from Sylasʼ eyes as Amende was sent rocketing backward by his palm.

They zigzagged through the air, erratic and seemingly hard to control. And yet, they struck true nonetheless.

How could he possibly ever miss?

BANG.

Amende froze in the air, his body turning into a statue of emerald glass.

The world shook around him, and then his body did so as well.

Chi.

One crack, then a second, and then a third.

Pshh...

Then there was a sparkle of ash. It twinkled down-dust of what remained of Amende carried through the wind- and a silence was held over the battlefield.

Amende was no more, not a single piece of him left at all.

ROAR.

This time, it was Sylas who roared. He roared so violently a stream of broken space extended from his maw, his canines glistening with blood that wasnʼt his own.

A crown of bloody and broken swords appeared above his head, and something inside of him seemed to break.

Chi.
