Genetic Ascension

Chapter 1253  Prince

Sylasʼ eyes narrowed.

This was well in line with the culture of Demons. What he didnʼt expect was that the flames of the Scorned Wrap would actually mean something to the Blazara.

Just like that, a huge segment of his enemies was gone, and the pressure lessened considerably. The Serpentes that had been fighting the Blazara swarmed to other locations, increasing the pressure severalfold.

No, it was worse than a huge segment. Other than the Ghorath, the Blazara were the largest fighting group here.

They were of equal power to the Ghorath and had more numbers as well.

Now that they were gone, the abilities of the Noble Demons to defend themselves had plummeted to near zero.

Sylas didnʼt bother to ask the little girl about this. He already knew that he couldnʼt afford it, but he slotted this information to the back of his mind. His head slowly turned toward Prince.

Black scales rippled across his body, golden slit pupils staring down the largest threat he felt here.

The Duke had left Prince behind for a reason. And unlike with the Duke, Sylas didnʼt know the True Name of his Sanguara. On top of that, he needed to find a way to preserve his own combat prowess for the battle that was still yet to come.

The Sanguara were stamina Demons. While it seemed like their greatest asset was now the Duchessʼ speed and strength, it was actually their regeneration abilities. The fact that they could heal from wounds was the least of the problems. It was the fact this regeneration was almost certainly deeper than being just a healing factor.

They didnʼt tire, they didnʼt fatigue, they didnʼt need sleep.

They were Immortals in the truest sense, and they were Sylasʼ greatest challenge here.

There was a flicker, and the Prince suddenly stood two meters from Sylas.

”How do you control that curse flame? Explain yourself.”

Sylas didnʼt reply. There was something odd about this Prince. He had been quiet all this time.

Maybe he was being just as cautious about Sylas as Sylas was being about him. But the problem was that he had suddenly appeared right before Sylas like this. This was the furthest thing from being cautious.

The roar of the Hollow Wing shook the skies again, a beam coming down from above.

*ʼHm?ʼ*

The Prince frowned, waving a hand to slap it away. But midway, his expression changed.

It was too late.

It looked like a beam, but it wasnʼt that at all. It was \ [Hollow Rend].

Unfortunately for the Prince, he didnʼt notice soon enough that the Hollow Wingʼs Constitution was far too low for this attack to work…

Normally, that is.

But when the Thryskaiʼs feather was in play, all sorts of rules could be broken.

The attack ignored the Princeʼs defenses, ripping into his inner organs. As Sylas had expected, it targeted the well of blood within the Princeʼs body directly.

Sylas suddenly erupted with an uppercut, his body

corkscrewing as his left fist arced from his hip up, his feet pivoting as he lodged his hand into the Princeʼs liver.

He poured the intent of his Beast Totem into Gogo,

improving his stats by 50x in a single instant. From stats around 30,000, Gogo immediately went to almost 1,500,000 in stats.

The sudden increase in power caught the Prince off guard.

Caught beneath the distraction of \[Hollow Rend], he couldnʼt react.

So used to dealing with meaningless attacks, the Prince wasnʼt ready for one that struck to his depths. Despite \ [Hollow Rend] barely doing any damage at all, what it did do was disrupt the connection the Princeʼs body had to its reservoir of endless healing.

Meaning…

”You…”

Life began to slowly dim from the eyes of the Prince.

In truth, he had been extremely wary of Sylas. It was just that he thought he was being overly cautious. When he saw the flames, he couldnʼt help himself.

He didnʼt expect a single mistake to cost him his life, but that was exactly what happened.

He didnʼt have True Blood like the Duchess. But judging by his Title, something told Sylas that he was actually more talented than the Duchess originally. However, the Duchess happened to get help from Sylas in ways none of them could have expected.

In the end, what was the best genius of the Sanguara was crushed before them under the effects of what was

ultimately a trick.

Sylasʼ body seemed to deflate, the boost to the Basilisk King weakening considerably. The pressure on his muscles lessened as well. However, as much pressure as one might have expected, the fact Sylas didnʼt combust on the spot went to show just how powerful his current body was.

He had felt like he could keep that up for quite a while longer—indefinitely, even. It was just that summoning an E-Grade Beast Totem with F-Grade Will was very taxing.

In fact, just the fact Sylas could at all was a testament to just how powerful his Will was.

It was time to wipe out the rest of this army. He had to thank the Scorned Wraps and this foolish Prince for making it so easy on him.

…

The Barbed Chain Gang seemed to be the only one left. The Ghorath were wiped out, the Blazara had littered their own corpses around, and the Sanguaraʼs representative was no more.

Sylas took deep breaths, but his body felt like it was still at better than 80%. He was ready.

However, there was something that he had to do first.

He pressed a hand against Anslaʼs forehead before she could make a move to say anything. The rest of the Barbed Chain Gang didnʼt move a single inch. Even if Sylas killed, they wouldnʼt even frown. But Sylas didnʼt seem to have that intention at all.

After a long while, Anslaʼs frozen body collapsed, and she lost consciousness.

Once Sylas was done, he didnʼt explain anything and just turned to enter the Golden Battlefield. Plans set out years, maybe even decades in advance were laid out today.
