Eternal Thief

Chapter 1613: Hunt for Treasures! (8)

Realization dawned on Ace as he said, ”If this Central Repository is really an inner world turned into an independent space with its own set of rules, doesn’t this mean as long as I can get inside, no one will get in my way? Moreover, is the Undead Boundary’s core formation also inside?”

Ace was filled with hope when he asked this question, and he wasn’t just speculating, for Moira had already sensed the Transcendent Void Obsidian when the delivery pathway was opened.

Now, if the Undead Boundary’s core formation was really inside the Central Repository, and since this space was independent with its own rule, and from the memoires of Dargoth, the Corpse Clan won’t be able to get in his way even if someone detects his intrusion.

After all, the Central Repository has always been a mystery, and not even the Corpse Commanders were able to bypass its mechanisms or understand how it works.

”Heh, maybe or maybe not.” Pixy ambiguously snickered.

Ace frowned, not liking what he’d heard, and sought clarification. ”What do you mean?”

”Hehe, I’m saying you might be able to enter this independent space, but it doesn’t mean you’ll become untouchable once inside. Granted that I can’t detect the master lock being opened for a long time, and this space isn’t something that those small fries would be able to crack open or break into with brute force.”

Pixy jeered with a hint of disdain as she poured cold waters on Ace’s fantasies, ”However, for this exact reason, you need to careful because once you enter this space, you won’t have the proper ’key’ or ’identification’ on you, which lead you to trigger the defensive mechanisms or worst, some killing method to deal with the intruders.

”At that time, no matter how powerful you are, or what trick you have, your only choice will be to escape, if you are able to react fast enough, that is. Even if you managed to escape, this whole place will be alerted, and then there goes your element of surprise.

”As for the formation core being inside, there’s a high probability, no doubt, but it could also be just another ’path’ that leads to the formation core. We’ll only know for sure once you’re inside.”

Ace became somber as he wasn’t expecting so many difficulties to tackle, even if he was able to enter the Central Repository, and the latter part about the Central Repository being just a ’path’ towards the formation core also made sense.

”Then what do you suggest?” Ace said while frowning, ”Even if there’s danger inside, I can’t just ignore the massive wealth sitting there for who knows how long, not to mention, even if this is just a path towards the formation core, that’s alone is enough for me to enter even if this place is empty.”

”Hehehe~,” Pixy giggled cynically, ”Who says anything about ’not’ entering this place? I’m just telling you to be more flexible and use your advantages instead of overlooking them.”

Ace was exasperated when he heard Pixy’s cryptic words and, with frustration, coldly said, ”Can you please stop with the riddles?”

”Tsk, tsk, why are you getting angry with me when I’m trying to help you?” Pixy pretended to be hurt, but then, as if she saw Ace’s expression getting darker, she quickly said, ”Alright, I’ll tell you, geez, think for once, if this is Central Repository is a similar treasure like your World Space Ring, then what do you think is common between them?”

Ace was confused for a moment before he was stunned, his eyes widening. ”Are you saying...?”

”Hehehe, correct, since your World Space Ring can be used to upgrade the Thief’s Space, this Central Repository can also replace the World Space Ring! Not only that, but the Central Repository’s grade should be sufficient to upgrade the Thief Space all the way to the final scheme available to you right now!” Pixy revealed with a hint of excitement.

Realization dawned on Ace as he had already guessed what Pixy was implying, but even he wasn’t expecting the Central Repository to be enough to upgrade the Thief’s Space all the way to the final scheme.

Because the final scheme of the Thief’s Space doesn’t just allow for increasing the size of the Thief’s Space, but also upgrades the time acceleration function to a 5X limit!

Ace never would’ve imagined that he would get the chance to upgrade his Thief’s Space to the final scheme so quickly, and without going through the trouble of gathering the precious treasures required for it, which includes an Upper Ascension Grade-9 Time Affinity Treasure.

However, suppressing his excitement, Ace cautiously asks, ”Well, I don’t believe it’s going to be that easy. If anything, it’ll be even more dangerous than getting inside and avoiding all the traps. So, what’s the catch?”

”Hehe, your habitual dullness aside, you are still sharp when it needs to be.” Pixy jeered, ”As you suspected, it’s not going to be easy, because just like the World Space Ring, you need to become the owner of Central Repository or make sure it’s ownerless.”

Ace’s heart turned cold when he heard the latter part as he sternly asked, ”What do you mean by that? So, this thing has an owner?”

He knew things would become much more complicated if the Central Repository was already claimed, because at that time, forget about annexing it into the Thief’s Space; he might get caught or alert the owner once he opened and entered it.

”Not quite right.” But Pixy again said something unexpected, ”It has no owner right now, but the problem is, it has independent rules, which make it similar to having its own will or spirit.

”Whoever had created it has made sure this space never developed a treasure spirit, yet they also ensure it won’t be snatched by anyone unless they have the creator’s permission or the ’key’.

”So, you only have two options now, either you find that ’key’ or whatever the creator of this place has left to take control over it, or...” Pixy tone turned slightly cold, ”...you wipe out the independent rules of this place, turning it into a mindless object to serve your purpose!”
