Reborn : Space Intelligent Woman

Chapter 2677: The Embezzler Will Be Sued

He could not even save his own career, let alone hers. Not to mention, everything happened because of Chen Meili.

Chen Meili and her parents were finally escorted out of the hall by the stern security guards and led toward the main entrance of the company. Many employees in the hallways witnessed the humiliating scene unfold. They were deeply curious about what had actually happened to cause such a scene, but none of them dared to approach or question those involved, as they still had their own mountain of work to complete and feared for their own positions.

Back in the hall, the space fell into a complete, heavy silence. Yu Qi adjusted the microphone slightly, the faint, electronic hum of the speakers becoming the only sound that echoed through the vast space.

”Now that the distractions have finally been removed... Oh, and as for the six names on the display, you may return to your workstations after confirming your identities and signing the attendance sheet with Secretary Lei.” Yu Qi said.

The six individuals stepped forward with a sense of relief, lining up in front of Lei Yingtai and confirming their identities one by one. After that was finished, they left the hall and returned to their respective workstations. The others in the room looked at those six people with a bitter mixture of envy and deep regret, wishing they had carried out their own duties honestly and diligently.

”Alright, let us return to the primary matter of the forty-one individuals whose employment officially ends today. Secretary Lei, please begin the individual briefings. Each of you will be handed a folder containing the hard evidence of your specific professional failures and misconduct. You will either sign your resignation papers quietly or you will wait for the arrival of our legal team to begin a formal prosecution. The choice, as always, is yours.” Yu Qi said, her voice turning cold and professional once more.

Lei Yingtai signalled for several additional staff members to enter the hall and assist her in handling the massive, overwhelming amount of paperwork required for such a large-scale termination. One by one, the individuals who were to be dismissed were called forward to face their inevitable fate. Each of them was clearly and sternly informed of the exact, fully documented reasons why they were being terminated from their positions, leaving no room for excuses or denial.

Some of them had built a toxic reputation by bullying others, specifically by shifting their own heavy responsibilities onto the shoulders of their junior colleagues while completely neglecting their own assigned duties. These individuals were dismissed immediately. Yu Qi chose to show a small mercy by not filing a formal report with the police, provided that they chose to leave the premises quietly and without causing any further trouble. However, it was made crystal clear that they would not receive a single cent of severance compensation from the company under any circumstances.

As for those who had actively and maliciously embezzled company funds, as Yu Qi had already stated earlier, she had absolutely no intention of forgiving them. She was prepared to proceed with full, unyielding legal action. When these individuals were confronted with the concrete and undeniable evidence presented by Lei Yingtai, they realised with sinking hearts that they had no way to escape the net that had already been cast tightly around them. They had no choice but to bow their heads and accept the severe consequences of their greedy actions.

As for Chen Song, he was in a league of his own and would face an especially rigorous and public lawsuit. Compared to everyone else present in the room, this man had embezzled a significantly larger and more staggering amount of money over the years. Yu Qi was fully and fiercely determined to ensure that he repaid every single cent he had stolen, without exception and without delay.

Finally, the long-standing and messy matter concerning the Chen Family was brought to a complete and decisive end. As she watched the hall clear, Yu Qi made a firm mental note to instruct Lei Yingtai to conduct deep internal audits on a regular basis to ensure that no similar situations would ever arise again in the future. She had absolutely no intention of allowing such toxic and entitled individuals to remain within her organisation, as she knew their presence would slowly but surely erode the very foundation of the company over time.

Once the hall was empty of the dismissed staff, Lei Yingtai walked up to Yu Qi, clutching her tablet.

”Miss Yu Qi, I just received a call from a gentleman with the surname Lou. He was very insistent and would like to arrange a formal meeting with you as soon as possible.” Lei Yingtai reported.

”Lou? I do not recall knowing anyone with that particular surname in my social or professional circles.” Yu Qi paused to think for a brief moment, searching her memory before asking, ”Did he mention a specific reason why he wants to meet me so urgently?”

”Oh... Yes. He mentioned that he wanted to personally thank you for saving the life of his junior sister, Chang Shuchun.” Lei Yingtai explained.

The moment she heard Chang Shuchun’s name, Yu Qi’s eyes cleared, and she immediately understood who the person was. He was most likely a high-ranking member of the Heavenly Crane Pavilion, the sect where Chang Shuchun originated. She wondered briefly why a member of such a secluded sect would want to meet her so formally, but she knew she would find out soon enough when they finally met in person.

”Check my schedule for the upcoming week and arrange a suitable meeting with him.” Yu Qi instructed calmly.
