Chapter 1544 1544: Desperate To Help Chi Yuan

Grandma Wei burst into tears when she saw Chi Yuan. Her Yuan-er was sunk into this kind of condition.

Chi Yuanʼs eyes lifted up when she saw Grandma Wei in the meeting room. She quickly approached the glass and took the telephone.

”Grandma Wei.” Chi Yuan called Grandma Wei.

”Yuan-er.” Grandma Wei cried out. ”Why are you losing so much weight? They did not give food to you?”

”They give me the food but I donʼt have any appetite to eat that food.” Chi Yuan complained.

The food was so disgusting. How could she as a heiress eat something like that? No, she could not.

”Grandma is sorry.” Grandma Wei felt heartbroken again when Chi Yuan said that.

”Grandma Wei, can you help me get out of this place? Please, I am begging you.” Chi Yuan whimpered.

Grandma Wei showed a difficult expression. Of course, she wanted to help Chi Yuan get out of this prison too but she did not have any power to do so. She was thinking to get help from his son but when she called about his husbandʼs warning, she felt afraid.

”Grandma is sorry. I canʼt help you.” Grandma Wei apologized.

”Can you ask Uncle Zichen for help?” Chi Yuan still wanted to leave this prison.

Grandma Wei remembered when she asked Wei Zichen about helping Chi Yuan, Wei Zichen mercilessly rejected her.

Seeing Grandma Weiʼs reaction, Chi Yuanʼs heart became cold.

”If you canʼt help me, why do you come here to see me?” Chi Yuan asked.

”I...” Grandma Wei did not know how to answer the question.

”Since you canʼt help me, you donʼt have to come here.” Chi Yuan said.

She acted tough to Grandma Wei because she knew that Grandma Wei would not leave her like this.

”No... No... Donʼt talk like this. I will try to help you. You just need to hold on. Okay?” Grandma Wei could not help to promise.

”Thank you, Grandma Wei.” Chi Yuan smiled weakly.

Seeing this, Grandma Wei determined to ask for help from Wei Zichen once more time.

”You need to eat properly in the meantime, understand?” Grandma Wei looked at Chi Yuanʼs face once again.

”Yes. I will try.” Chi Yuan stated.

The meeting was over. Chi Yuan needed to go back to her cell and Grandma Wei was leaving. Li Cui was waiting outside.

”Howʼs Yuan-er?” Li Cui asked.

”She lost a lot of her weight. I am really distressed.” Grandma Wei sighed.

”I am worried about her too.” Li Cui said.

”I will try to ask my son once more again.” Grandma Wei stated.

”Okay. Thank, Old Madam Wei.” Li Cui thanked Grandma Wei.

Grandma Wei and Li Cui went their separate ways. Grandma Wei asked her driver to drive her to Wei Zichenʼs office. The driver obeyed the order and brought Grandma Wei to Wei Zichenʼs office.

Grandma Wei arrived at Wei Zichenʼs office. She went to the front desk.

”Is Wei Zichen in this office?” Grandma Wei asked.

The receptionist looked at this old woman up and down. Listening to her calling Wei Zichen by his name, meant this old woman had some relationship with Wei Zichen. This old woman also dressed as a typical rich old woman.

”May I know who you are, Madam?” The receptionist asked.

”I am his mother. I want to meet him right now.” Grandma Wei demanded.

”Old Madam Wei? Wait, I will ask his assistant first.” The receptionist was panicked. She did not expect Wei Zichenʼs mother suddenly showed up.

Wei Zichen frowned when he knew that his mother was there. He was curious as to why his mother He quickly asked his assistant to bring his mother up.

Grandma Wei saw his son and sat in front of him.

”Mom, what are you doing here?” Wei Zichen asked.

”I want to ask for your help.” Grandma Wei spoke with a condescending attitude.

Wei Zichen frowned. It must not be a good thing. ”What is it?”

”Change Yuan-erʼs punishment. Life imprisonment. That is ridiculous. Reduce her punishment to one year at most.” Grandma Wei said.

Wei Zichen was speechless. Her mother still wanted to intervene in Chi Yuanʼs matter.

”Do you hear me?” Grandma Wei waved her hand in front of Wei Zichen when seeing his son did not give any response to her demand.

”Mom, I already told you that I canʼt do anything about that. Miss Chi was already found guilty. She murdered a person and she should face the consequence.” Wei Zichen sighed.

”You are someone with power. Can you pull some strings?” Grandma Wei was still persistent with the topic.

”Mom. I canʼt do anything. Why canʼt you understand?” Wei Zichen sighed while holding his head.

”She did not deserve that.” Grandma Wei stated.

”Donʼt deserve that? Mom, she is a murderer. She killed a person at a young age. Just because she was jealous.” Wei Zichen wanted to reason with his mother.

”No... She did not mean to kill that woman.” Grandma Wei said.

Wei Zichen narrowed his eyes. ”Mom, tell me. Why do you desperate to help Miss Chi these much? Is there something that I donʼt know about this?”

Grandma Wei was panicked for a moment but she quickly calmed down. ”There is nothing that you need to know. I just want to help her because I watch her grow up. She accompanied me a lot. I just donʼt want her to waste her time in prison for the rest of her life.”
