I reported you for selling fake medicine. If I stop selling it, why are you crying?

Chapter 216 Say Thank You to HimChapter 216 Say Thank You to Him
Guan Jing returns to Huichuntang.

It was already evening and all the customers in the pharmacy had left.

It seemed that Old Man Guan had just finished his work. He sat on the armchair behind the counter, looking tired.

Guan Jing took a closer look at her grandfather and discovered that he had a sallow complexion, pale hair and looked exhausted since she hadn’t seen him for some time.

Obviously, opening a shop for a long time is a huge workload for this man in his eighties.

Guan Jing felt a sudden pang of heartache for no reason.

”Grandpa.” Guan Jing shouted and walked into the door.

Old Man Guan opened his eyes and glanced at Guan Jing, half-jokingly saying, ”You still remember to come back. I thought you ran off with some wild man.”

Originally, Guan Jing felt a little sad when she saw how old Guan looked.

She didn’t expect that the old man would tease her.

She immediately twisted her mouth.

”You old man, Brother Ming prepared something good for you, and you actually called him a wild man!”

Guan Jing also started a joke.

In fact, Cheng Ming did not say that the pills were made for old man Guan, but the little girl was quite good at speaking for her boyfriend.

Even when her boyfriend is not around, she tries her best to make him look better in front of his family and give Cheng Ming extra points.

That’s why she said yes, this medicine was specially made for Old Man Guan.

Old Guan became a little interested: ”That kid Cheng Ming? What good things does he have for me?”

”Here, this is it.” Guan Jing spread out her hand, and there was a black pill on her palm.

”What is this?” asked the old official.

”It’s a tonic. Very tonifying.” Guan Jing said after thinking for a while.

She didn’t want to explain what the tonic pill was, because it sounded like the elixir in a fantasy novel, which was too difficult to explain, so she just said it was a tonic, which was more conventional.

But saying this, it was obvious that Old Man Guan didn’t care much.

”Forget it, don’t waste it.” Old Guan said, ”I’m already eighty-three, or eighty-four. I’ve already taken enough tonics to pay for them.”

”It would be better to give it to your father.”

Guan Jing said helplessly: ”Grandpa, just give it a try. Brother Ming took great pains to make this!”

She wanted to persuade her grandfather to take the medicine by saying that it was rare.

Who knew that the more he said this, the more the old man refused to eat.

”Since it’s precious, don’t waste it on me. Besides, my body is too weak to be replenished. You are also studying Chinese medicine, don’t you understand this principle?”

”Grandpa!” Guan Jing was a little anxious.

”It’s a token of Brother Ming’s good intention. I promised him that I would let you eat it. Do you really want to let him down? There’s no harm in it anyway. Just eat it!”

Seeing that his granddaughter was a little anxious.

Old Guan had no choice but to take the pill from her hand and swallow it.

Guan Jing didn’t leave either. She sat in front of him, waiting for the medicine to take effect.

five minutes later.

The old man, who had been resting with his eyes slightly closed, suddenly opened his eyes wide.

He seemed to have noticed the changes in his body at this time.

He looked at his granddaughter: ”What did you give me to eat? Did you poison me?”

”What are you thinking about, old man!” Guan Jing cursed with a smile, then asked, ”Do you feel any pain in your muscles and ligaments?”

”Pain? Not really, it’s just a little hot and a little numb,” said Old Man Guan.

Guan Jing was very surprised.

Just a little numb?
Different from her and Cheng Ming?
Is it because of a special physique?
Probably not.

This is Chinese medicine, not Western medicine. Chinese medicine is made of dozens of medicinal ingredients, so there should be no special reactions.

”Maybe it’s because grandpa is old and the medicine isn’t very effective?”

After thinking about it, I’m afraid this is the only possibility. Because Guan Jing observed her grandfather for more than ten minutes, and then she asked the old man Guan, and he replied that the numbness had disappeared, but it was just a little hot.

Her guess was probably correct.

Old Man Guan is old, and his stomach and body’s absorption efficiency is not as good as that of young people. This is normal.

After realizing this, Guan Jing felt it was a bit of a pity.

The efficacy of the medicine is not very good, which means that the effect on improving grandpa’s physical fitness is not as good as that of young people.

But it’s pretty good, it’s better than nothing.

Not long after.

Old Guan was very shocked by the changes in himself.

He stared at Guan Jing and asked, ”Girl, what you just gave me was not a stimulant, was it?”

He found that his fatigue had completely disappeared!
How can this be?

Normally, when he is so busy, he would not get up until this time unless he lies in bed for two hours.

Only a dozen minutes had passed, but his fatigue had completely disappeared? He even felt better than ever!

Guan Jing asked in silence, ”You have been a pharmacist for decades. Can’t you tell what ingredients are in the pills just by smelling them? How can a Chinese patent medicine contain any stimulants?”

The old man was shocked: ”Really?”

”of course not!”

In fact, old Guan also knows it!
He just found it unbelievable!

He knew very well that the reason why traditional Chinese medicine and Chinese herbal medicine were not as widely used as Western medicine was because they took effect slowly and could not compare to Western medicine.

When patients are sick, they will naturally trust whoever’s medicine works most quickly.

So most people believe in Western medicine.

As for traditional Chinese medicine, it is somewhat vague and illusory.

Now, a Chinese patent medicine, which is also a tonic, can have such a good and fast effect!
It’s simply amazing.

Forgive me for being at a loss for words!

”This, this...how did you do this?” Old Man Guan seemed to be asking Guan Jing, but also seemed to be talking to himself.

”I don’t know either. Anyway, the medicine was given to me by Brother Ming. It should be a new formula he researched himself, right?”

”Of course he figured it out! Only this guy has this ability!”

Old Guan actually admires Cheng Ming very much.

In his opinion, although Cheng Ming is young, he has an incredibly rich knowledge of pharmacology!

Create so many powerful potions!

Even an old pharmacist like Old Man Guan has to admire him!
So when Guan Jing’s parents hadn’t met Cheng Ming yet, Old Man Guan had already spoken well of Cheng Ming in front of the Guan couple!

It was Cheng Ming’s first time to visit Guan’s house and the atmosphere was so harmonious. In fact, it was all thanks to old man Guan!

”My brother Ming is awesome, right?” Guan Jing said proudly.

The old man glared at her unhappily and said nothing.

”By the way, Grandpa, you just take this medicine and keep it to yourself. Don’t disclose it to anyone.” Guan Jing suddenly remembered what Cheng Ming had said before and immediately reminded her grandfather.

The old official was speechless.

”I am old, do I still need you to explain this to me?”

After saying that, he stood up from the armchair and began to clean up the pharmacy, preparing to close it.

Guan Jing hurried over to stop him.

”Grandpa, you are tired, let me do it.”

However, Guan Jing was stopped by Old Man Guan.

”With the medicine you gave me, I don’t feel tired at all! You should be going to talk on the phone soon, right? Go and say thank you to your wild man for me.”
