Zombie Apocalypse: I Have Safe Zone Superpower

Chapter 812: Chapter 812: God Chef

She paused before giving Danielle a slightly sheepish smile.

“Danielle, if possible, I want you to cook for my children whenever I am away. You could even prepare most of their meals. I am willing to give you an entire building as payment.”

Danielle was stunned. “An entire building?”

She stared at Ivy in disbelief. “No, that is far too much. I am your sister-in-law. You do not need to pay me.”

Ivy shook her head.

“You do not understand. As long as you can make sure that my children eat your food and that my husband and I can also enjoy your cooking, giving you an entire building would be completely worthwhile. In fact, I am already shortchanging you.”

Danielle hurriedly waved her hands. “No, no, there is really no need.”

However, Ivy insisted.

The discussion continued for quite some time, and in the end, Ivy even signed a contract with Danielle.

Although Ivy still did not know exactly how much truth there was behind everything the temporal storage had told her, she trusted one thing completely.

The temporal storage had always tried to protect her. It had never deliberately harmed her.

‘If it is saying something this important, there must be a reason.’

Sure enough, after Danielle eventually left, the temporal storage once again spoke.

“You have awakened your superpowers because of a forced awakening. Therefore, the subsequent awakenings cannot be considered natural awakenings.”

Ivy’s expression became serious.

The temporal storage continued, “You might not know this, but when a superior being naturally awakens a superpower at a young age, and especially when they experience a second or third awakening, it indicates that their blood purity is extremely high. Their genes are also exceptionally strong.”

Ivy remained silent as she absorbed those words.

‘Then what exactly does that mean for me?’

“His genes would become so important that everyone might start fighting simply to recruit him.”

Ivy finally understood the seriousness of the matter.

“All right, I understand. But I have another question. I have heard about the planet Astra, but I want to know something. Does every country there have its own king, or does a single king rule over the entire world? If one person rules the entire planet, that seems rather strange, doesn’t it?”

The temporal storage seemed amused by Ivy’s question.

Although it had no physical form or visible face, Ivy could somehow sense the amusement in its voice.

“You might think that every state needs its own member of royalty to guard it. That would make sense for humans because humans have limited capabilities. However, superior beings are completely different. Their physiques allow them to continue functioning even without sleeping for thirty days straight.”

It paused before continuing.

“Not only that, their speed of processing information is much faster than that of humans. Therefore, a single ruler is enough to govern the entire world. He does have smaller generals and commanders who carry out various tasks on his behalf, but apart from that, everything ultimately falls under his authority.”

The temporal storage’s voice became slightly lighter.

“Once you take over that position, you will naturally understand how it works.”

Ivy paused for a moment before speaking.

“Honestly, I keep thinking about one thing. If I actually take that position, won’t my children and family be placed in even greater danger?”

The temporal storage immediately responded.

“That is precisely why I think you should have been born on the planet Astra instead of this ignorant Earth.”

Ivy’s expression became serious.

“There is a ruler on planet Astra. As long as a member of royalty sits on the throne, anyone who dares to attack or rebel against the royal family, or even goes as far as harming a single member of royalty, will face extinction.”

The temporal storage paused briefly before continuing.

“Not only that, the person sitting on the throne possesses absolute loyalty from the people beneath him. Even if the king were to kill your entire family, you would have no chance of openly going against him.”

Ivy shivered slightly.

“Wow. I never realized that the position of king carried such overwhelming authority.”

The temporal storage continued, “There is another important matter. If you reveal that you possess a temporal storage, they will most likely take you away under the pretext of conducting experiments. They could even kill you simply to obtain me.”

Ivy’s expression immediately changed.

“So you should not reveal that you have a temporal storage until you are sitting on the throne.”

Ivy frowned.

“No, that does not feel right. Nanami already knows about this, and I keep feeling as though Nanami is somehow against us. What if he uses this information to backstab us?”

The temporal storage fell silent for a long while.

When it finally spoke again, its tone had become thoughtful.

“That is the strange part. Since he knows so much about you, it is unusual that he has not reported everything to the king and instead chose to remain silent.”

The temporal storage continued, “If I am not mistaken, he should have already gone to the king, reported everything, and received high praise for his discovery. His so-called research should have been approved as well.”

Its voice became more serious.

“Therefore, his motives are extremely strange. Unless his experiment involves something so significant that it even concerns a superior being, he should not be reacting this way.”

Ivy drummed her fingers lightly against the armrest while eating some of the food Danielle had prepared.

After thinking for a while, she finally spoke.

“I think there is a high chance that he wants to sit on the throne himself.”

The temporal storage laughed.

“Not everyone can sit on the throne. Even if someone with low compatibility wishes to claim it, the throne itself has certain rules. The system will test the blood purity of the candidates and determine who possesses the highest compatibility.”

It paused before explaining further.

“If a commoner happens to possess greater blood purity than the existing nobility, that commoner can be elevated to nobility and become eligible to compete for the throne. Such a person could potentially have as much as a ninety percent chance of inheriting the throne.”

Ivy’s eyes widened. “Temporal storage, you know all of these things?”

She narrowed her eyes suspiciously.

“It almost sounds as though you secretly trained for the position yourself and wanted to become king.”

The temporal storage did not answer that question.

Instead, its voice suddenly became aggrieved.

“Before you become a princess, do not you dare reveal anything like that.”

Ivy smiled faintly.

The temporal storage continued, “As for this food, try to take Danielle with you when you leave, or have her prepare and store some of her food inside your temporal space. It might prove useful in the future.”

Ivy slowly nodded.

“All right. I understand.”

She looked down at the food in her hands, and a thoughtful expression appeared on her face.

‘It seems that Danielle is much more valuable than I initially realized.’

………………

Edeline anxiously waited for her daughter to be released. However, even after waiting for a long while, she still received no news. The uncertainty slowly turned into frustration, and finally, her patience ran out. She decided to confront Alice herself.

When she met Alice in the market, just as she had planned, Edeline quickly walked toward her, forcing a smile onto her face.

“Alice, it has been such a long time since we last met.”

Alice did not return the smile. Her expression remained calm and distant as she glanced at Edeline.

“Yes. What can I do for you?”

Realizing that Alice was being much colder toward her than before, Edeline quickly tried to soften her tone.

“Alice, why are you acting like a stranger toward your old friend? Did you forget? Once upon a time, we were best friends.”

Alice interrupted her before she could continue, her voice remaining surprisingly calm.

“I do not remember ever being part of your popular group. I usually stayed away from such groups.”

Edeline bit her lip, feeling a faint sting of embarrassment. She glanced around the busy market before lowering her voice.

“Alice, I understand that there might have been some misunderstanding between us, and perhaps that is why you are acting so cold toward me. How about this? We can go to some café, sit down, and talk about everything properly.”

Alice simply shook her head.

“No, let us make this clear. I do not want to maintain a friendship with a liar like you. You tried to sow discord between me and my daughter-in-law, and that crossed the line.”
