Zombie Apocalypse: I Have Safe Zone Superpower

Chapter 300: Chapter 300: End Of Apocalypse

”Can you show us the food first? Otherwise, how will we believe you?”

Ivy smirked internally before putting up a grim expression. ”I would be serious with you all; that is my last stash, so I can’t showcase it. As long as someone protects me, I will take out a 5 kg rice bag from my space.”

Space?

Everyone’s expression changed.

Who didn’t know about space superpowers? A superpower, highly sought before and during the apocalypse. However, it has its own limitations too!

Most people only receive 3 cubic meters of space, just enough to store 2000 kg of rice.

”So, can anyone tell me who among you is honest and will protect me while I sell rice?” Ivy’s question broke the silence, and the crowd whispered among themselves before selecting a candidate.

No one thought of killing Ivy and plundering resources. Why?

Because if Ivy was truly willing to sell rice, then she must be speaking the truth about a store in Moonjewel Base. If that was the case... then why do they even need to risk killing her? They could just go there themselves.

Soon, the crowd chose the candidate while Ivy soothed the rescued captives.

Especially Miley. The poor woman was moved to the point that she vowed to become Ivy’s slave.

From their interaction, Ivy got to know that Miley’s circumstances were a bit special. The woman was originally a rich heiress; however, her uncle and aunt schemed against her parents, killed them, and forced her to survive on her own.

From her childhood till now, Miley studied hard, and just when she was about to take revenge against her uncle and aunt, the apocalypse arrived.

The darkness faced during the apocalypse had left the poor young woman with a lot of trauma.

The selected candidate stepped forward. A tall, broad-shouldered man, rough around the edges but with tired, steady eyes. He clearly wasn’t the strongest, but he was the most trusted, and that was more valuable than power.

He raised a hand toward Ivy.

”I’ll protect you while you sell rice. My name is Mario, a former soldier of the scouting division.”

Ivy nodded slowly, studying him. His posture was disciplined, his gaze unwavering, and his hands, though calloused, didn’t tremble.

”Good.” Ivy extended her hand. ”Ivy.”

Mario gripped Ivy’s hand and motioned the crowd to start.

The first customer was a woman wearing a torn white one-piece. She was in her mid-forties and was looking nervously at Ivy.

Her hope- and expectation-filled eyes shone under the moonlight. Wiping away the sheen of sweat on her forehead, she gave a huge bag of watermelon-sized to Ivy.

”This is all I have.”

The crowd watched, breaths held.

The moment of truth... and the price they would have to pay for the rice.

Ivy waved her hand, and the next second, a 5 kg bag of rice materialized in her hand, smooth and clean as if taken straight from a pre-apocalypse shelf.

Gasps erupted like a wave breaking.

”Fuck! She wasn’t lying!”

”Oh my god! I couldn’t believe it! Move! Move! Let me line up!”

”Thank heavens! We finally will have something to eat tonight!”

”Oh gods above... thank you for showing mercy!”

The cheers of happiness echoed amidst the faint roars of zombies from outside the entrance of the base.

Ivy checked the bag and passed it to Miley. ”Count it for me. I want 1000 crystals. Any excess needs to be returned.”

The first woman, who was dreamily staring at the 5 kg of rice, whipped her head in Ivy’s direction.

Only 1000 crystals for 5 kg of rice? What kind of fantasy world were they living in?

She had only given 5000 crystals, thinking that if Ivy noticed... the woman would beg for only 1 kg of rice.

Who would have thought that... only 1000 crystals would be required! And the remaining 4000 crystals will be returned?

Compared to Ivy’s country, the Alva state’s prices were sky high. Here, without 10,000 crystals, one couldn’t even buy 1 kg of rice!

Now the woman was moved to tears.

Her voice cracked, and before Ivy could speak, the woman collapsed to her knees, bowing deeply, forehead touching the cold concrete ground.

”Thank you! Thank you! Thank you... I... I thought my daughter would starve to death tonight... Thank you...”

Her sobs were small at first... then shattered into raw, shaking cries.

The crowd fell silent.

No one mocked her.

No one looked away.

Because all of them had cried like that at least once since the apocalypse began.

Hunger had stripped them all down to bone and spirit.

The woman clutched the bag of rice to her chest as though holding her child itself.

Miley returned the 4000 crystals with pity and was filled with admiration for Ivy...

Ivy was so generous and kind!

The line moved on, and the 10th customer who arrived was an old man in tattered clothes. He didn’t have a bag; instead, he presented Ivy with a paper.

Though confused, Ivy opened it up and realized that it was a property deed.

”I am old, and I don’t have enough time to live. Maybe I will die even before the apocalypse. But one day... it will end, and then... this property will become a valuable one. I wish to exchange this property for food.” The old man’s voice sounded choked, and even his eyes had turned red.

However, his words made Ivy freeze.

End of apocalypse?

She never considered the possibility... because according to her... even if the natural disasters pass away... the threat of zombies will prevail.

Who can even make an antidote for the zombie virus?

But in her past life, humanity had indeed reached the point where they had made half a cure.

If this time... she supports various research talents... maybe she will be able to make a cure.

Once that happens... the apocalypse will end, and then...

The most valuable assets would be gold, grains, and houses!
