Investiture of the Gods Xiao Sheng, the Poor Taoist Priest, Even Rogue Cultivators Have Human Rights

Chapter 121: The sky is brilliant, the earth is dim, and the human calamity is silent! The true meanChapter 121: The sky is brilliant, the earth is dim, and the human calamity is silent! The true meaning of the secret realm!
When Xiao Sheng was puzzled, Hou Tu answered leisurely: ”The universe symbolizes the laws and order of the prehistoric universe. It first appeared when chaos first began.”

”The tunnel is the great force that maintains the balanced flow of the universe.”

”As for the human calamity, it is the fusion and convergence of the wisdom and consciousness of all living beings in the prehistoric world. Whether it is mountains, rivers, plants, or rivers in the sky and earth, as long as they have spiritual things, they are all covered by the human calamity.”

When mentioning ”human calamity”, Hou Tu’s eyes revealed a trace of deep awe.

Obviously, from her description, it can be perceived that the power of human calamity may far exceed that of the universe and the earth.

However, Xiao Sheng was more confused after hearing this. According to Hou Tu, if the power of human calamity is so terrifying, why is there no human calamity power in the present prehistoric world?
Even the power of the underground is hard to find?

Hou Tu went on to explain: ”It is precisely because the universe carries the laws, and the power of the laws is eternal and unchanging, that in the prehistoric universe, there has been a saying since ancient times that ’the trend of the universe is irreversible’. Those who follow the trend of the universe will prosper, and those who go against it will perish.”

”The tunnel symbolizes balance, which is manifested by the ancestral bloodline and the six reincarnations. The ancestral bloodline of the primeval wasteland continuously releases majestic spiritual power to nourish the growth of all things; the six reincarnations allow countless lives to reincarnate and be reborn, thereby washing away their own karma.”

”The human calamity originates from the fusion of the wills of all living beings in the prehistoric world. The power of will is the most unpredictable, containing infinite potential and variables. Once it reaches its peak, even the laws can be broken and reshaped!”

Hou Tu emphasized the word ”law” with a heavier tone, and the implication is self-evident: once human calamity achieves the highest level, it will be enough to challenge the authority of the universe!
After hearing this, Xiao Sheng reviewed the historical context of the prehistoric world, and the problem that had been bothering him for a long time suddenly became clear.

The principles that Hou Tu talked about are actually not complicated - the universe, the earth, and human disasters are like three independent systems in a mysterious pagoda, each controlling a part of the pagoda’s functions, and restraining each other to jointly maintain the stable operation of the pagoda.

However, the current situation is that Tianzhou was born before the other two, so he is naturally extremely powerful and can easily suppress the earth and human disasters.

Although Hou Tu achieved sainthood with the power of the underground tunnel, theoretically she should be able to drive some power of the underground tunnel to compete with the heavenly universe. However, she has no physical body, and her soul can only reside on the law of reincarnation, which makes it impossible to fully exert the power of the underground tunnel, let alone compete with the heavenly universe.

In this way, many subsequent events also have answers. For example, during the Journey to the West period, the underworld was invaded and riddled with holes like a sieve. Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva, Taiyi Jiuku Tianzun, and powerful people from all walks of life have set up spies in the underworld to compete for control of the underworld.

Even a stone monkey at the Golden Immortal level dared to break into the underworld, arbitrarily altered the Book of Life and Death, and finally walked away. Facing all this, Hades was helpless and could only lament. After all, behind this stone monkey, there is a divine incarnation - the saint Subhuti, who supports him.

For the underworld, this is an intolerable humiliation. You know, the underworld and the heavens are equal. The stone monkey’s behavior is as shocking as breaking into the Purple Sky Palace and tearing the Conferred God List to pieces in front of Hongjun.

There is no need for Hongjun to take action personally. This matter alone is enough to make the Six Saints of Honghuang extremely angry. They will use all their magical powers and secret techniques to kill him, break his bones into powder, and grind his ashes into the underworld.

The underworld has gone through numerous catastrophes and has fallen into such a state. Its desolate and miserable state is truly lamentable.

When Xiao Sheng thought about this, his heart was filled with emotions.

Perhaps, in the era of the Journey to the West in later generations, Hou Tu had already fallen, otherwise those strange and bizarre things would not have happened.

Nowadays, Hou Tu is hiding in the boundless mysterious dimension, and judging from her appearance, she is obviously not in a good state.

As for humanity, there is no need to mention it.

Humanity symbolizes the integration and convergence of all wills among all living beings in the prehistoric world. However, since the beginning of the prehistoric world, how many earth-shaking disasters has this vast land experienced?

Those once powerful races were wiped out in droves.

With the passing of so many powerful people, how can the power of humanity not weaken?
Compared to the Underworld, the human world is even more tragic. The Underworld at least has an Underworld Saint to support it, but the human world is empty and almost disappears.

Even though humanity has the potential to suppress the laws of nature, judging from the historical evolution of the ancient times, this potential has been ruthlessly strangled by the laws of nature before it was awakened.

It is precisely because of this that the Honghuang Heavenly Dao can dominate the world, making people only know to respect the Heavenly Dao but ignore the existence of the Human Dao and the Earthly Dao.

At this moment, Xiao Sheng was horrified and gained a new understanding of the history of the ancient times - behind these countless catastrophes, there are actually more terrifying struggles hidden, that is, the fierce conflict between the three paths of heaven, earth and man!
”Since the Way of Heaven has revived first, and the Way of Earth and the Way of Man have both become weak, why do you still insist on proving the Way of the Earthly Saint?” Thinking of this, Xiao Sheng couldn’t help but raise the confusion in his heart.

Faced with the supreme and boundless power of the Great Heavenly Dao, the Earthly Dao and the Human Dao have been completely suppressed. Even if Hou Tu has not been defeated and has really become a saint of the Earthly Dao, what can be changed? Won’t she still be clamped down in the same way?

”Because of awakening.” Hou Tu responded softly.

”Awakening?” Xiao Sheng frowned, not understanding what it meant.

”In fact, in the beginning of the chaos, the Way of Heaven, the Way of Earth, and the Way of Man had no self-awareness, and their power was therefore limited.”

”Only when a saint is born can the power of these great ways be fully awakened.”

”And the first saint was the Taoist Ancestor.”

Hou Tu said in a firm tone.

”So that’s how it is.” After hearing this, Xiao Sheng’s mind suddenly became clear.

It is no wonder that the Heavenly Dao is so powerful. It is obviously because Hongjun became the first Heavenly Dao Saint, which enabled its power to be fully awakened.

If Hou Tu can achieve the status of an earthly saint, she can also fully unleash the power of the earth.

By then, even if it would be difficult to rival Heaven’s Way, at least we could fight against it.

In terms of status, he is even closer to Hongjun and is on par with him.

Obviously, if Hou Tu succeeds, it is indeed possible to turn the situation around! This is a very feasible plan!
Unfortunately, Hou Tu failed.

Xiao Sheng couldn’t help but ask, ”Since you decided to reincarnate and prove your status as a saint, you must have made thorough preparations. Why did you fail in the end?”
