Movies and TV, I, who practiced immortality, defeated the gods

Chapter 29: The Beautiful Legend of SicilyChapter 29: The Beautiful Legend of Sicily (asking for recommendation votes and monthly tickets)
Compared to the world of Once Upon a Time in China, the world of Legend of Sicily is set during World War II.

That is 1940 years.

During this period, thermal weapons were already somewhat close to the 21st century.

Weapons such as heavy machine guns and heavy artillery have already appeared, and they still pose a great threat to Jiang Hao.

But to say that Jiang Hao was afraid of him, that wasn’t the case.

The power of a heavy machine gun is indeed terrifying, but it also depends on whether it can hit the target.

Besides, who would threaten him with a heavy machine gun for no reason?

So after just a moment’s hesitation, Jiang Hao accepted the task.

After accepting the mission, Jiang Hao did not go directly to the mission world, but turned on the computer and found the movie ”Sicily’s Malèna” to watch.

Jiang Hao did not look for the complete, unedited version because the movie is actually restricted. The complete version can be considered a Category III film because it contains too many nude scenes.

However, Jiang Hao had seen the complete version a long time ago, and although it lacked a lot of scenes from the abridged version, the main plot was not missing at all.

The deleted scenes are more about the protagonist of the movie, the little brat Renato’s thoughts about Malena.

So there is not much difference between watching the full version and the abridged version.

After watching the plot again.

Jiang Hao went to the bathroom, locked the door, and then entered the mission world.

The reason why he chose to enter the mission world in the bathroom was to avoid being accidentally seen by Zhou Xi when he returned. Jiang Hao did not intend to tell anyone about his secret.

When he enters the mission world to complete the mission, no matter how long he stays in the mission world, only a few seconds will pass when he returns.

This matter has been confirmed last time.

In fact, it’s okay even if you don’t go to the bathroom.

But what if Zhou Xi came to the living room a few seconds before Jiang Hao returned?
Therefore, it is safer to go into the bathroom and then enter the mission world.

A blue light flashed, and Jiang Hao disappeared into the bathroom.

........................

”Sir, sir, please wake up, are you drunk, sir?”

As soon as he regained consciousness, Jiang Hao found himself lying on a wooden table, with someone next to him gently pushing him.

Looking up, Jiang Hao found himself sitting in a pub.

Next to her, a young girl who looked to be in her early twenties was standing there.

She was wearing some old clothes and holding a tray in her hands.

He looks like a waiter in a pub.

The other party spoke Italian, but Jiang Hao could understand it at the moment.

At the same time, an additional memory appeared in his mind, and this additional memory was the identity assigned to him by the system.

His identity in this world is that of a British man.

His father is Chinese, but his mother is British. As for why he doesn’t look mixed-race at all, despite being mixed-race.

Of course it’s because his identity is real, but his blood relationship is fake.

In addition, because of his identity given by the system, he naturally became proficient in English and Italian.

Although Jiang Hao knew English before, his spoken English was more like Chinese. Now Jiang Hao speaks English with a fluent London accent.

As for why Jiang Hao appeared here.

It was because his ”parents” got into trouble in a gang fight, so he came to Italy to seek refuge with his ”mother’s” sister, who is also his aunt.

And where he is now is a tavern in Sicily.

In Jiang Hao’s memory, ’he’ was an alcoholic.

He liked drinking, so after arriving in Sicily, he did not immediately go to his aunt’s house through the address left by his mother, but first found a pub and drank three glasses of wine.

After three glasses of wine, he was drunk.

Until this moment I was woken up by the waitress in the pub.

”I’m fine, thanks for waking me up.”

While speaking, Jiang Hao took out a one-pound coin (PS; during World War II, the pound was on the gold standard and was a gold coin) from his pocket and handed it over.

Britain’s decline occurred during World War II, but at this moment, Britain is still the world’s most powerful country, and the circulation of the pound is still very high.

Both are European countries.

The British pound is also in circulation in Italy, just like the US dollar in the 21st century.

World War II was still going on. At this time, Italian Prime Minister Mussolini did not openly support Germany, nor did he become one of the three Axis powers. Naturally, it was still a long way from defeat.

But because Italy does not implement the gold standard, the Italian currency, the lari, is also depreciating.

The current exchange rate between Lari and British Pound is 80:1.
In Italy today, workers earn about 500 lari per week.

That is a little over £6 a week. But this is the average, not what most people actually get.

In fact, because of the war, most people were unemployed and Italy’s industry accounted for only a little over 2% of the world’s total.

This is a little more than half of what it is currently in France and a third of what it is in the UK.

This industrial share means that Italy cannot provide many jobs for its people.

So a weekly salary of five hundred lari is just for reference.

In fact, most people’s weekly salary is around three hundred.

If it’s a little lower, it’s just over two hundred.

For jobs like bartenders, the salary was as low as 150 lari.

And because of the war, the prices of all kinds of goods began to rise.

People’s lives are becoming more difficult than before.

The movie begins with the Italian president’s choice between Britain and France.

The people who were listening to the radio at the time were very supportive.

Because at this time Germany had already swept across Europe.

Everyone understands that joining the German camp at this time means sharing the benefits.

This may also be the reason why the people in the movie cheered.

Because if the war is won, they will all benefit and their lives will be better than they are now.

”Sir, is this too much?” The waitress was a little surprised and did not take it immediately.

It’s not like she hasn’t received tips in pubs.

But this is the first time I’ve seen someone give one pound at a time.

Especially now that the economy is not good.

In fact, she hadn’t received a tip in a while.

After all, no one has money, so naturally no one is willing to give tips.

”You’re welcome. I’m an Englishman. I came to Sicily to seek refuge with my relatives, but I’m not familiar with this place. If possible, if you’re willing, I can pay you another pound to show me the way.”

”Sir, you are very kind.”

”I am from Sicily. I am very familiar with the area. You just need to tell me the address of your relatives and I will help you find them. But before that, I need to ask for leave from my boss. As for the compensation, you don’t have to pay me. Your tip is already more than enough. It is equivalent to my salary for several days, so you don’t have to pay me any more.”

Jiang Hao was a little surprised.

I didn’t expect that the girl in front of me was not greedy for money.

”That would be troublesome.”

”Sir, my name is Bella, you can call me Bella.”

”Please wait a moment. I’m going to ask my boss for leave first.” After saying that, Bella trotted away.

But after a while, she came back.

”Sir, my boss has approved my leave, let’s go.”

”Okay.” Jiang Hao nodded.

I left the pub with Bella. As for the money for the drinks, in the pub, you have to pay for each drink you want.

This is done to prevent people from defaulting on their debts or drinking too much.

So Jiang Hao had already paid for the wine.

After the two left the pub.

Bella spoke again.

”Sir, where are you going?”

Jiang Hao told Bella an address.

When Bella heard Jiang Hao say the address, she did not take any action immediately, but just stood there in a daze, with surprise and astonishment on her face.

Jiang Hao naturally also captured the changes in Bella’s movements and expressions.

”Bella, what’s wrong with you? Is there something wrong with this address?”

”Sir, may I ask where you got this address?”

”Why do you ask?”

”Because this is my home address.” Bella looked at Jiang Hao and said.

”Your home?” Now it was Jiang Hao’s turn to be surprised.
